"I have searched for you for centuries." Adam grabbed her by the arm, pulling her closer until their faces were inches away. Eyes locked in a battle of will.

"Why?" Avana reacted, suddenly drowning in the intensity of his stare. "So, you can hurt me." Saying barely in a whisper. "Kill me?"

"No." He responded as his lips grazed through her temple, leaning even closer.

"Then, why?" She closed her eyes as electricity coursed through her body with that slight contact of his lips on her skin.

"So, I can claim you as mine."

The Dark Prince and The Runaway Heiress

As much as he wished to continue, Adam knew they had to stop at least temporarily to receive their guests. He quickly asked her to get dressed and followed him outside as he also did the same.

She was momentarily confused but learned his reasons as she did what he asked and exited the room behind him. Then, they were in the living room, waiting for their expected guests to arrive.

"Welcome back, Elisia and Ivrea." Avana quickly greeted her friends as they entered the massive room. "I hoped that your travel had been comfortable." She hugged them as they came nearer, glad to be together again.

"Yes, it was good," Ivrea happily answered, relieved that their mission was over. "I am just glad that we are back." Stepping back away from her.

Then, the men followed not far behind, greeting Adam and Avana as they entered his home. From the look of things, Avana believed that nothing was amiss. They all looked well, complete with all their limbs.
