"So you are not under punishment?" Nathan asked.

Helen chuckled slightly. "Well, I kinda am. Not being able to return to my home on the Visionary, stuck here teaching grumpy kids… it's a form of punishment, don't you think so?"

Nathan pursed his lips. "True. So the Stark's managed to drive you away from the Visionary and got their hands on the virus?"

"Heh, you look down on me. I destroyed everything before they got a chance to get it. No way I would be the only one to suffer a loss." Helen had a look of satisfaction as she spoke.

"You didn't tell Leah all this?"

"… No I didn't. I twisted the story for her."

Helen looked away. "Because she needed a reason to become a Guardian. Nate, it's clear that only Guardians would get the chance to change our situation. I don't want her to face the same problems I faced…
