"Then who is this man!? Aren't you going to tell me about him? You're pregnant now and this is such big news! I feel bad for not going home every day!"

"I know that if I tell you who the man is, you'd get angry," Avilyn said, biting her bottom lip.

"Wait... are you dating that man from across our tree? He's annoying when we are a child! Don't tell me you fell for him and—"

"No! Not him!" Avilyn interrupted, whispering her answer so only she could hear. "It's the king."

Kiana scoffed, not believing what she heard. "What?"

"It's the king. I'm serious," Avilyn answered, her smile slowly fading. "He asked me to marry him."

"No..." Kiana said softly, moving her head to say no as she still couldn't believe it. "Please, Avilyn. Stop kidding me or else, I'll—"

"I'm not kidding," Avilyn interrupted, holding Kiana's hand. "The child is ours."
