Chapter 24: Saving Lily

As of now, Jason can kill a rank 2 monster with just his bare hands, while using only 1% of his powers.

This made him realize how foolish he was to have thought he could defeat a rank 10 monster while being only a rank 7.

Even if he used all his tricks, it would have been futile in front of such sheer power. This truth became evident to him when he felt the strength of a rank 10 monster.

"Thank God Rotarr helped me, or I would have been dead before even putting up a fight," Jason thought to himself after realizing the difference in power.

Jason continued his journey, but this time he increased his speed as he didn't have much time left. He travelled further, and the grassy field changed into dense jungles with large trees, just like being inside a deep forest.

Not only did his surroundings change, but more and more goblins started attacking him. This time, their ranks had also increased, but he could still easily kill them while maintaining his speed.

"I have to find them quickly," Jason said after taking care of a group of 15 rank 5 goblins.

He knew that except for him and Bhim, no one in his team could kill a group of more than 10 rank 5 goblins on their own.

The goblins were very sneaky creatures, and the main problem was that no one had ever faced this kind of creature before in their life.

On his planet, goblins were just creatures used in fantasy books. Fighting a foe that you know nothing about can deal lethal damage, even if they are weak.

At this moment, Jason thanked himself for all the novels he had read, as the nature of the goblins was almost the same as what was mentioned in the novels. It made him wonder how anyone could write about the nature of a creature that had never existed, but he put this thought in the back of his mind for the moment.

A few minutes later, Jason finally reached a place where a battle had taken place, but not much time had passed since the battle.

Jason took a 1-minute break to inspect the battle to find some clues so that he could find the whereabouts of his teammate and why he was so sure that it was one of his teammates because spells were used while fighting.

The reason was that no one was there except for his teammates and the monster, and out of them, only one could use a spell, and that was none other than Lily.

After searching for a few seconds, he found what he was searching for - blood marks that were even from humans, which he tested using his tools for extra precaution. Now he was damn sure that it was none other than Lily, which made him tense as she was injured badly, and he found a lot of blood.

Without wasting time, Jason ran towards the direction of the blood trail at his top speed. As he went further, he found more and more blood on the trail, and he couldn't believe how Lily was able to walk after losing so much blood.

He didn't have to wait long as he saw her lying unconscious on the ground in her own blood pool. Jason quickly checked her pulse, "She is still alive, but her pulse is getting weaker after each second. I have to do something."

Very carefully, he carried her in a princess style and laid her on fresh grass. He then brought out some tools from his backpack and quickly fed her a blood rejuvenation pill, using other tools to heal the area from where the blood was coming out.

After 10 minutes, all the injuries on Lily's body finally healed, and her condition became almost normal as if nothing had happened to her. She was still unconscious but sleeping to recover.

After putting all his tools back in his backpack, Jason was uncertain whether to wait for Lily to wake up or to leave her behind. He knew that leaving her in this state was not a good idea.

"I have to carry her with me as I move forward," Jason thought to himself, deciding to take Lily with him.

After putting all the tools back inside his backpack, Jason didn't know whether to wait for Lily to wake up or leave her there. He realized he had to carry her with him as he continued on.

Jason moved his backpack to the front and carried Lily on his back, using a rope to tie her so that she wouldn't fall off if he had to fight.

After confirming everything was secure, Jason continued his journey with Lily on his back. Ten to fifteen minutes later, he emerged from the forest unharmed, thanks to his new power, and the scenery began to change again.

Suddenly, Jason blinked, and when he opened his eyes, he saw an ancient city before him. This must be the place Rotarr mentioned where he could find the portal and core.

As Jason moved his head, he felt a slight movement and noticed that Lily was awake. He untied the rope and placed her on the ground.

"Lily, is it really you?" she asked.

"No, I'm Larry. What the hell are you asking? Did you go blind?" Jason asked sarcastically.

"I didn't mean it like that. We couldn't find you anywhere, so I was just surprised. I didn't mean to hurt you. What happened to me? How did you find me?" Lily asked.

"What do you remember before you lost consciousness?" Jason inquired.

"I remember fighting nineteen green humanoid-type monsters. After I defeated them all, I noticed that I was losing a lot of blood. My supplies were destroyed, so I had no choice but to keep moving forward. That was the last thing I remember," Lily said.

"I was moving forward, and then I saw a trail of blood. I followed it and found you lying on the ground without moving.

You were losing a lot of blood from your injuries, so I quickly used my tools and medicine to treat you. Once you were healed, I carried you with me as I moved forward. You should thank God that I arrived in time; otherwise, you would have died.

I'm glad you're okay now," Jason explained.

When Lily heard Jason's story, she hugged him tightly and began to cry.

"There's no need to cry. Let's go. We have to keep moving forward," Jason said as he patted Lily's head.

"Thank you for saving me, Jason," Lily said.

"You don't need to thank me. I know that if I were in your situation, you would have done the same for me. Stay strong. We have to keep going," Jason said.
