Chapter 42: It was a part of me?
Without any doubt, he knows who is behind this as there is only one being present in this room who can do this without alerting him.
He didn't have to wait further as the same creepy voice of the Glendin sounds beside his ear.
"Kekekek, so how did it feel to get so near to saving your race and failing at the last moment possible"
"Amazing isn't it"
"Just a few more inches and you would have succeeded in saving your race by sacrificing your life, how Nobel like watching this makes me feel like crying"
"A man sacrificed his life to save his planet, you would have become the hero for your race and every people would have talked about you but after someday it will decrease and eventually you also would be forgotten just like others"
"So instead of letting it happen, I stopped you a moment before you have done the disgusting thing and look how bad you are that you didn't even thank me yet but as a kind-hearted being I will let it slide"
While the Glendin is babbling, Jason tried a few times to use a different kind of ticks or force but the tentacles get tight around him more and more.
Eventually, he stopped trying to do anything and just silently listened to the Glendin.
The more he listens the more he agreed with whatever the Glendin said even, sometimes he like to add further.
He knows that the Glendin is trying to break him and surprisingly this time he succeeds in breaking him.
This blow did much more effective than anybody can imagine, he did all the things he can even achieving what he thought is impossible for him and even with that, he got stooped by a single attack.
A single attack even if it had taken 2 attacks to stop him might have the will to try further but with just one attack the Glendin stopped him which is even at the last moment possible.
Further, he didn't know that he gets attacked until the tentacles wrapped all around him and he couldn't even move a single inch.
If the Glendin wants he can kill him any moment it wants and he would only be able to stare and shout at him.
Even if the Glendin wouldn't kill him he would just die within a few more secs due to his skill.
So, one thing he is sure about is that he is going to die, just like a broken doll he continues to listen to the Glendin.
"Why aren't saying anything, hey are you dead, oops sorry what did I say, aren't you a naughty one who decided to die without telling me"
"Here let me see this"
Then another tentacle searched around his body for something and after finding it, the tactical came in front of Jason's face.
"Look what I found isn't this the one you eat to boost your power, now open your mouth like a good pet and let me feed this" Glendin said to Jason after finding the 2 blood-nourishing plants in his pocket.
"I am sensing blood energy from these, what a great thing it's, let's see if you can handle both of these at one time" After saying that he feed Glendin both at the same time.
Jason is just like some sort of brain-dead person ate it without complaining or struggling.
"Now that you ate this, go sit there and behave like a good pet before that let me take this thing from you as a pet should never have things that will harm his master" Glendin takes the chip things from Jason's hand.
After taking it he thorough Jason behind and tied to destroy the chip even after a few tries nothing happened to the chip.
"Quite an interesting item, I will probe you later:" Saying that he put the chip in his mouth and swallow it and again crawl towards the teleportation gate and sat beside it with his eyes closed.
After getting thrown Jason rolled over a few times on the ground and lay there like a dead body even in his eyes there is no sign of life in them.
The only proof that he is alive is that his watch still shows his pulse rate but even that is changing at a rapid rate which shows that he is having some sort of mental trauma in his mind.
Which is causing his pulse rate to change rapidly.
Currently, he is absolutely in his worse state for a person like Jason who is trained by professionals and trained for his entire life to bear all sort of things that comes towards them.
It is very bad to see a person like that, get broken and lay on the ground like a dead person who lost everything in his life.
This is the worst nightmare for any person that is in this type of profession to lose the desire to fight and live.
Meanwhile, inside Jason's mind, he is pondered on the reason why he always seemed to lose.
The more he deeply thought about it, he started to understand the reason behind how he ended up in this situation.
The first thing is being even when the enemy and he are just a difference of power of 20:19, the power he had is truly not his and just a borrowed power that he had no experience off.
Whereas the power his enemy had is truly his own power, he had full experience and knowledge about how to use it.
The second thing is being, all his life he tries to suppress his desire by making some rules, due to what took place with him when his desire first surfaced.
Little did he know his desire slowly consumed him and started to affect all his actions without him knowing which creates a clash between his decision.
He had always felt a sense of unease about the gift he possessed. Despite its undeniable power, he never fully embraced it as his own. Instead, he used it only when necessary, treating it as an external tool rather than an integral part of himself.
However, a realization struck him like a bolt of lightning. His gift was neither a curse nor a blessing, but a neutral force that depended on how he chose to use it. The doubts that had plagued him for so long began to dissipate as he came to accept that his gift was an inseparable part of him.
He remembered the moment the rank boost that was bestowed upon him by Rotarr.
At the time, he had failed to acknowledge it as his own, instead viewing it as a burden he was forced to carry.
But now, he saw that the power had always been his, and that the only thing holding him back was his own self-imposed limitations.
As he fully accepted his gift, something changed within his soul. The weight that had been bearing down on him was lifted, and the breakdown he had experienced just moments ago vanished completely.
Life flowed back into his eyes, and he stood up, his body now animated and full of energy.
He knew that from this moment on, he would no longer let his gift go to waste. He would embrace it fully and use it to its full potential, knowing that it was a part of him that could never be taken away.
Still, when there is something already written on your fate you can never change it until you have the power to do so.
Jason's fate has something else written for him. So, despite Jason's determination to stop the teleportation gate, fate seemed to have other plans for him.
The process was completed and a basketball-sized wormhole appeared inside the gate.
Within secs different types of demons less than the size of the wormhole started to swarm out of it as if a group of people suddenly found a lake in a desert after a month.
Instead of attacking him or staying inside the room, they started to run out of the room as if something that is dangerous inside the room.
Despite the chaos, the Glendin remain in his same possession and didn't show any sign of moving from there.
Meanwhile, as Jason observed the strange events unfolding before him, he felt a surge of excitement and curiosity at the sight of the wormhole that had suddenly appeared.
Instead of losing hope and getting broken down, he had a smile on his face and his eyes showed a strange confidence he never had.
The moment Jason's eyes placed on the wormhole that appeared his desire for knowledge started going crazy as he had never ever seen this type of thing anywhere other than those fantasy movies but instead suppressing his desire.
He let it be free but it didn't overwhelm him like the previous time but it boosts his courage and will.
For the first time in his life, he controlled his desire as a part of him, at this moment all sorts of fantasies run inside his head but he didn't let them linger around for more.
He had more important things to do other than dreaming about fantasies.
Despite the growing size of the wormhole, Jason knew that he still had a chance to close it before it was too late as it is still in its initial stage.
He was aware of the risks involved, but he was determined to fight to the end rather than simply wait for his inevitable demise.
As he is aware of the fact that he is eventually going to die even if he succeeds or fails, until or unless some miracle happened.
So, if he is going to die then why not, he dies while trying to save his planet.
It didn't bother him a little bit at the same time it made him proud as this is the first decision he made after accepting him fully.
Hence, he rather chooses to die while fighting and saving his planet instead of quietly watching it and waiting for his death.
Therefore, without delaying any further, he placed his eyes towards the Glendin.
As he prepared to take action, however, he was suddenly interrupted by a sudden rush of wind passing him.
When he turned, he saw no one other than the demons that are running out of the room but they had a panicked expression on them and he had no idea why.
When he turned back to face the Glendin his Jaw drooped on the ground from what he saw.
He was shocked to see a man in his mid-thirties standing beside the teleportation gate, holding the Glendin aloft by the neck with his right hand.
The sight of this mysterious figure filled Jason with a sense of dread and foreboding. He could sense that this man was no ordinary mortal, and he knew that he was in grave danger.
Nevertheless, he stood his ground, determined to face whatever came his way with courage and determination.
