Chapter 46: Choices
"On the contrary, I must also warn them to not try to read your mind it looks like someone is placed a spell on you to protect anyone from reading your mind, I was lucky enough to retract from reading your mind before it can inflict some serious damage"
"Who are the people I know that are capable of this" The individual said and started to try to remember some names.
As the weight of the situation settled upon Jason, his mind raced to identify potential candidates who possessed the skills and power necessary to instill such fear and inflict significant damage.
Two names instantly surfaced in his thoughts: Rotarr and Archimedes.
Considering the individual's reaction and the intensity of the blows inflicted upon him, both Rotarr and Archimedes seemed like viable suspects. However, the true identity of the assailant remained uncertain.
Somehow, he can't get a feeling out of him that someone way stronger was behind this and protecting him but it was still a feeling.
"Ugghhh! I can only remember who can do this but the question remain why would they do it, looks like I had to do a deep investing after I was done with the things that I currently have on my hand"
"From that, I remember I must also have a talk with her and takes a few potential people from the department she created what was its name Exsorer or is it Sorcerer"
"Whatever it is I had to book a visit with her looks like over the years she group some good potential individuals, aren't I right" Asked the individual to Jason.
At first, Jason was scared whether to answer or not but his looks it looks like he had to do it. So, without saying anything he just nodded his head.
"Now that's what I call good behaviour so as I reward I will let you live your last moment peacefully" said the individual and released his grip from Jason's neck.
"Now go sit beside the body of the demon and don't try something funny, ok I don't like when people do something which irritates me so this is your last warning" said the individual to Jason and turned back and went towards the teleportation gate.
Jason also listened to the instruction of the individual and sits beside the dead body of the Glendin quickly and started to wait for the chance that will arrive which he had a feeling filling in his heart.
Simply because the wormhole is getting large at a very low speed and it is still small to only allow the small creatures to pass through it and from the looks of it will at least takes 15 min to fully reach the size of the gate.
Jason don't know whether it usually takes this much time or it was especially happening in this case but whatever the reason was he had to do something within 2 min as he didn't have more than that to live before he die.
Meanwhile, the individual started to change the symbols created by the Glendin and also meddle with the wires connecting the teleportation gate with the core.
While the individual is caught with his own work, Jason didn't remain still instead he slowly entered the moth of the dead Glendin to find the item which he ate.
A few secs later the individual finally stopped whatever changes and meddling he was doing and from the looks of it, he was nearly completed as he had a wire-like thing which he taking with him to connect with the teleportation gate.
Seeing that Jason got anxious but he still didn't react as he had a feeling in his heart that the chance he was waiting for is nearly here and only a few moments away.
He also takes this risk mainly because he can't stop the individual from doing whatever he was doing and if try to go towards the core he knows that he will be dead before he can get near it.
So, left with a choice that either takes the risk to wait for a few more secs or try doing something and getting killed.
Finally, he decides to wait for 10 more secs if still nothing happens he will go with the second option.
Engulfed in a fierce internal struggle, Jason wrestled with the decision before him. Time seemed to slip away rapidly, with only ten seconds remaining until his predetermined deadline.
He knew that if nothing transpired within this brief window, he would have to resort to his second option—an alternative path that held a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness.
Jason's body showed undeniable signs of weariness, each passing moment chipping away at his vitality.
However, fuelled by sheer determination and an indomitable will, he defied the physical toll, refusing to succumb to his deteriorating state.
Though weak, he remained resolute, poised for action, and ready to seize any opportunity that might arise.
As the seconds ticked away, a surge of urgency coursed through Jason's veins. The gravity of his situation urged him to act swiftly, yet he recognized the importance of patience.
With five seconds left, he resolved to endure a little longer, clinging to the hope that a decisive turn of events would materialize.
The possibility of an alternative path beckoned, offering a chance to escape the clutches of imminent death.
Jason knew that embracing this second option, however uncertain or perilous it might be, was still preferable to resigning himself to an existence devoid of action and surrendering to his impending demise.
Armed with determination and fortified by his unwavering willpower, Jason prepared himself for the impending course of action.
Each passing second fuelled his resolve to choose the second option, propelling him forward into the unknown, ready to face the challenges that awaited him in the second option.
While only 4 secs left before Jason perform the second option, the individual finally connected the wire to the teleportation gate.
Suddenly created a loud noise and a large amount of white electrical-like substance started to consume the gate and as it consumes a transparent sheet started to cover the wormhole which let the demons from coming out of it.
