Fight in the Cemetery

★★★

"Why are you screaming like a madwoman?" A low, deep voice rang near Bella's ear, thumping her poor heart. She didn't bother to open her eyes while her hands reached the collar of the man. All she wanted was to cling to something.

She dipped her head in his chest and murmured over it, "I think I'm bleeding. Take me to the hospital."

"I love blood. I think you should bleed," the man threw a joke when the person was trembling in fear.

"What are you say...?" Isabella raised her head. She wanted to see the man before passing out.

But the scene she received stunned her further, and she added, "What are you doing here?"

"What does everyone come here to do?" The man answered with a flat voice. His eyes looked down at the girl, who was still clinging, clutching his shirt. He let her only because her scent weakened him just like before. He couldn't have the power to order her to go away and not to touch him.

And for this sole reason, he was pestering her to sign the contract. He was eager to know if this thing will remain if she stayed with him or if it would disappear after a couple of days.

"Are you following me?" Isabella asked another question as she didn't believe his answer. Suddenly she remembered that crossbowman and she quickly left his collar and came behind Alexander to see that person. However, no one was there. Similarly, she turned her gaze from that far spot, onto Alexander's back, and touched there.

"What are you doing?" Alexander asked without turning back. Neither did he ask her to stop touching.

"An arrow shot at me. When I heard your voice, I thought I was dead," said Isabella, while her hand was still inadvertently touching Alexander's back. She was so engrossed in the incident that she didn't think touching someone like this was wrong.

"Do you have a habit of drinking in the afternoon?" Alexander questioned and turned his body to the woman, whose hand paused in the air.

"Drinking in the graveyard. What an impressive combination!" Alexander smirked as he cracked the joke.

"Seriously?" Isabella halted with raising brows then resumed again, "Maybe I had seen some illusion, by the way, what are you doing here?" Isabella asked and left that previous incident as she believed it was an illusion, but she would not spare this man because she was confident that he was following her.

"Miss Bella. When someone wants to meet a dead person, they come to the graveyard. Unlike you, who are here to party with ghosts," Alexander again taunted her, and his mentioning of drinks gave her a headache. She was not a creepy woman who come to the cemetery to drink.

"I would believe it if I saw something in your hand," Isabella said effortlessly as she found the weak point of his lie.

Alexander's gaze deepened on her and showed a bouquet of white flowers in his hand. Isabella knew his hand was empty but then when did it come? Her mouth was wide open as her eyes were on the flowers when she heard him again.

"I don't have time to waste answering your questions. Keep it to yourself. If you still have some troubling questions, just write them down on paper or send me an email," Alexander told Bella and without giving another look he took his step in the other direction, fully informing her he was in no mood to entertain.

Bella stood for a couple of seconds and wondered what she would do, then suddenly ran toward Alexander. Her steps were not too close to him as she was carefully stepping.

"Don't follow me," Alexander loudly said and clear enough to hear. And Isabella didn't care what he said. She kept following him while wandering her eyes.

She had never got this type of vibe ever visiting the cemetery. Near her house, there was another tiny cemetery where she visited her mother and she stayed there as long as she wanted. She talked also shared a lot of things with her mother and spent hours there, but the vibe she was getting from here was scary.

This cemetery was the big one in this town known, the 'Penshaw cemetery' because the name of the town is 'Penshaw.'

"I am not following you. We are going the same way," Isabella answered and glared at the man. She didn't like when someone acted unknowable, knowing everything. One could tell that Isabella was scared. Then how could he not know?

"Umm… Listen… Do you think something is wrong with this place?" Isabella asked about what she was feeling and noticed Alexander was going to Paoli's tomb as it was a couple of steps farther.

"How can you get entertained if you have never felt a wrong or damp sensation in a graveyard?" Alexander's low voice accompanied the creepy words of his frightened Bella. This time, she took a long step and came closer to him.

"Weirdo.." Bella whispered under her breath. Then instinctively her gaze went to the same tree for no reason and a thought flashed in her mind that 'had she actually seen a delusion?'

"When you are comforting yourself in someone's shadow. Don't let your mouth insult that aspect or maybe you might be stuck in this cemetery for a night," Alexander's chilled warning made her gulp down her saliva, also calculating if he was planning to do something with her.

"Did she do the right thing, following him, or it is a mistake?" her thoughts are scarier. Because they are on terrible terms, it must be that he was looking for revenge.

"There is no place for regret in life. You should think before following me," Alexander spilled oil more before stopping before Paoli's tombstone.

"Can you read minds?" Isabella was stunned. Her wobbly voice inquired.

"Death cannot help you from sin. Nine circles of hell will decide where you should belong." Alexander placed the flower on the tomb and muttered, looking at the tombstone. However, his voice sounded like he ordered someone.

"Hey, look. I am scared. Stop terrifying me. At least stop cracking jokes in front of the grave," Isabella's shaken voice wanted to be confident but couldn't. She knew Alexander was doing this intentionally, and it worked. Now she again wanted to cling to him until they left this cemetery.

"Jokes. Yes, life is a joke until it faces reality," Alexander stunned her again, and Isabella couldn't take it anymore and took out her phone to call someone and ask them for help.

But because of a lack of networks, the tower bar was replaced with a cross sign. And this time she cursed aloud, "Damn it."

"Look, stop doing this thing and take me back," said Isabella.

"Why? I didn't bring you here. And you are not my responsibility. You have legs, jogged them, while praying for your brain to work," Alexander said and started walking.

Isabella could not believe this man. He literally went on without her. She cursed him and ran. Without a second delay, she grabbed his well-built biceps. It was very hard to grab with one hand, but she had to manage it.

"Stay like this. You made my life miserable. So this is a payment," Isabella quickly explained when Alexander gave her strange looks and its meaning she didn't know.
