Game day 1

"What was that?" said Isabella, holding her breath in panic. All of them held their hearts, blew their fear of death, and they could only thank God for today.

Isabella got off first. Standing, holding the door of the car, she felt his trembling knees. There was no car other than theirs. There was still a degree of fear in her mind. Everything happened so fast, like blinking speed. She didn't even know if that was an animal, or if she had some kind of hallucination.

"Was it a ghost?" Bethany said as they came to the front of the car.

"Ghost? No, it can't be a ghost. It's a human," Danny snapped when she heard Bethany. Ghosts don't exist.

"Where is the person? Do you think a person can run like that, and at that speed? Can you describe it, please?" Bethany finished and Bella agreed with her. But what the thing was that it can't be a human either.

"Listen, maybe we are thinking a lot. Perhaps it was just our delusion. Let's go from here," Isabella said in a small voice, looking around one more time because right now it was hard to figure out the thing and it vanished into the thin air.

"Alright," Danny said with a huff, and they got in the car.

Three of them reached Bella's house late at night and no one disturbed Bella's father. They climbed the stairs with silent steps and reached Bella's room.

"Bella, are you hurt?" Danny asked.

"Yes, when I hit the wall, I felt a pain in my shoulder as if my shoulder had dislocated, but after I woke up in the girl's restroom, the pain was gone," Bella answered. She noticed it earlier but didn't get a chance to say it to her friends.

"Really?" Danny added.

"Maybe," murmured Isabella and went to the mirror. She unbuttoned her dress to look over her shoulder if there were any bruises left, but none.

"Why did Casey attack you?" Bethany asked.

"Her plan failed because of us. Casey said that I am the most disgusting person," said Isabella with a problematic face. She would prefer to remain silent if she could, then there would be no chance of her having enemies. She did not know how she made enemies when she choose her words carefully. Yet, friends become rivals.

"The major problem is that we can't report or too many things would come up and we would get into some unnecessary trouble," Danny said the fact with a sigh.

"Bella needs protection. What if she comes later?" Bethany, worried about her friend's safety. It couldn't be overlooked.

"I have a solution," said Isabella, coming up with a small idea. If it works, a mystery will be solved in front of everyone.

"What?" Danny and Bethany asked in unison.

"Camera! The lights were on when she attacked me. It means everything was recorded on the camera. If we got our hands on the tapes, we could do something with it," Isabella explained, her thoughts that lit up Bethany and Danny's brains.

"Yes, we can upload it on social media. It will work wonders. If the authority holds her neck, half the mystery will be solved immediately. After that, we can freely confess and we can ask Mr. Luther for help," Bethany said excitedly. Bella's idea was brilliant when Danny added the shocking news.

"I heard from my father that Mr. Luther is going to be engaged to Ms. Angela."

"What!" Danny exclaimed aloud.

"Yeah, that is the reason, he's out of town and I hear he won't be in tomorrow's game," finished Danny and take a look at Bella, who stood with her head down.

"Okay. And in this matter, we can do anything. It is his personal life, but I can say he has an ugly taste," Bethany said with a disgruntled voice and walked toward Bella.

"Bella," Bethany said and hugged before resuming, "Don't be disappointed. Maybe he is rich but a fool."

"Disappointed? Who told you guys? Why would I be disappointed? We kissed just once, that's all and nothing else. Don't be fooled," said Isabella plainly with a casual face. She couldn't understand why everyone thought she was sad. Alexander was never her boyfriend, or they had any love affairs. So why would she be disenchanted?

"Thank God. I was in the same boat as Bethany," Danny said with a chuckle.

"Not at all. Disappointed my butt. Let's talk about our business. Tomorrow is the game, everyone will be busy with a game. We have plenty of time to lay our hands on tape," Isabella said with great energy. Simply, her expression left no suspension for her friends to understand the truth. Felling took haven in a cocoon.

"Alright," Danny and Bethany breathed.

"I am exhausted. Don't disturb me anymore. And don't smoke in this room. Last time you burned my pretty dress," Isabella said and lay down after changing on her nightwear.

"Smoke? We've never smoked in your house," said Danny, grinning. She hadn't thought of smoking, but now she was craving to take one whiff.

"Yea... your lies are perfect," Isabella said and turned off the light. Instantly, her mood dropped, leaving her heart empty. This was her fate. That was why he denied her several times later.

Again, she didn't know if she loved him or not, but the pain inside her was perceptible.

"Bella," Bethany called.

"Hmm...." Isabella answered, pushing her emotion back because voice and eye were the foes of emotion.

"No," replied Isabella, and a long silence lulled them into a deep sleep.

The next day there was a celebration at Westwood College. Preparations were huge. No one could tell that last night a party was held in the same playground. The men's soccer team was playing. Stacy's group also gathered immense popularity with their moves. St. Peterson college cheerleading team was a bit dull. But the men's soccer team was a dragon.

Westwood did not score a goal, while St Petersen scored a goal before halftime, giving Westwood a tough challenge. They were not able to cross St. Peterson's defense barrier.

On the other hand, when Bethany, Danny, and Bella came to the principal's office, only the guard was outside, and he informed him that the principal was not in his office, so they couldn't enter.

Although they got what they wanted, their principal wasn't in the office. However, they didn't know how to evade this guard.

"When will the Principal come?" Danny asked the guard with an impatient face. Time was running out, the principal would come anytime soon. Yet, they didn't come up with an idea.

"Soon, wait here or come back later," the guard answered. Three of them gave each other a silent look, not knowing what to do.

"Where has the principal gone?" Bethany asked to know the position of their principal so that they can carry out their plan safely.

"Last night, someone broke all the lights and cameras on the second floor," the guard answered with a straight look.

"What? Cameras?"
