Disgusting

Cherry's rationality didn't come back much once she was out of the elevator because she still intended to keep her promise to deliver those cookies at the very least and see what happened from there. If she was truly being rational, she would have cut things off at the source.

She didn't want to do that though. She liked talking to Scott too much for that.

She knew she was playing a dangerous game. One that could blow up in her face at any given time. She couldn't allow herself to get into an actual relationship with him but it couldn't hurt to see him a few times, could it?

Scott was SO nice. He brought her flowers unprompted and asked her questions about herself like he was genuinely interested in knowing the answers.

Cherry hadn't been able to talk about herself like this in years. She was able to be mostly truthful, just like in the elevator. She felt seen even though she was still hiding behind another identity.
