I Prefer The City

Noelle was happy to be home. She was! But at the same time, she dreaded seeing her aunt Tammy tomorrow. She was her father's sister and was a childless widow. She had also been giving Noelle a hard time about everything pretty much her entire life.

Aunt Tammy was the one who kickstarted all of those comments at family gatherings about poor Noelle and how she wasn't as pretty as her sisters. It was like she had a personal bone to pick with her because she also gave her a hard time about leaving home yet not making anything of herself.

Noelle only had to see her on holidays and she was so busy with her siblings that she was largely able to stay out of her aunt's way a lot of the time. She only hoped she would be able to do that tomorrow.

She was not at all confrontational. She never talked back to Aunt Tammy and simply waited for it to be over.
