A Terrible Person

Addison thought therapy was supposed to help her, not make things worse. But her therapist Jasmine had warned her about that during their session when she started falling apart as she went over what had traumatized her in the first place. That things had to get worse before they got better.

That seemed counterproductive to her. At the same time, it made a sort of sense.

She had been doing her best to avoid thinking about it all this time. Now she had to face it head on and talk about it so she could process it properly and move on.

But she was such a wreck afterward that all she could do for the rest of the day was watch TV and try to physically hold herself together by keeping her arms around her knees. When Jacob got home, she couldn't help but flop onto his shoulder after he sat next to her.
