Like Mother, Like Daughter

Joy was glad her family had such a good summer overall. Fall brought on more life changes since she started her new job as a first-grade teacher after getting her teaching credentials renewed.

Being a teacher's aide at the preschool had helped her get used to being back in a classroom again but that was still different than being the one in charge of the lesson plans and whatnot. It was a bit of an adjustment.

So was being called Mrs. Cox by her students. At the preschool, they had just called her Miss Joy since she was only an assistant. The last time she had been in charge of her own classroom, she had been Mrs. Webster. It had taken a while to get used to that from being called Miss Kennedy (her maiden name) but she had gotten used to it then so she would get used to this now too.
