What was worse than death itself? Well it was dying knowing that no one would miss you, knowing that your death was a favour to everyone you ever knew.

This was exactly how I felt the day I died.

"There is a way." A spectral voice whispered to Xenon's hearing. Xenon's lips curled slightly in defiance. "But the choice is yours." The second spectral voice added.

Meanwhile, all around them, pandemonium had taken over the city wall. They could hear everything that was said even if they were not truly present in that reality.

"Get Our Liege here!" Lord Kaideon roared. "Now!"

"The battle circle is sealed by dark magic, flames will not penetrate, neither will ice. It cannot be broken through." Lord Starron stated the facts.

"If anyone stands a chance of penetrating the circle, it can only be Our Liege." Lord Kaideon stated clearly. "There's no time to contemplate it! Get him here!"

The voices echoed in Jian's head and he let that tug guide him back to reality, but just as he did, he picked up on Xenon's voice saying;
