First Step

It was strange, really. Just in day ago, we had decided to go back into that hellhole—the lab that had ruined our lives. The thought of it still made my stomach churn, but there was no other choice.

Daniel had managed to find a way to contact our families, warning them about everything and urging them to keep a low profile. Most of them were devastated. Some, like Noah's father, had secrets that couldn't stay buried any longer.

Noah hadn't been the same since he learned the truth. His father, had knowingly sent him to that lab, fully aware of the horrors that took place there. Now, Noah spent most of his time lying down, staring blankly at the ceiling. Lifeless. Broken.

The only time he showed any flicker of emotion was when Oliver sat beside him, quietly holding his hand.
