Petting the lambs

However, Josh was so excited that he didn't listen and continued to rush over to the fenced area.

When they reached the fence Josh finally let go of Tom and he instead began looking around the numerous people standing around, trying to see which animal was in there.

After a while of trying to push past multiple people Josh was finally able to spot the animals, there were a lot of small cute lambs. Not only that, but he also saw that some people were able to pat them over the fence and feed them some food from a bucket.

Josh's eyes shone with excitement at the though of touching and feeding the lambs. Josh quickly turned his head around trying to spot his parents, after he caught sight of them he squeezed back through the crowd of people and rushed to them.

"Mum, dad, can I get stuff to feed the lambs too?" He asked excitedly, his eyes shining.

"Oh, of course, wait here I'll get you some." Said his dad as he looked around frantically trying to find where to buy the animal feed.

"Then can I have some too?" Asked Tom in a quiet voice to his parents.

His parents nodded as his father also went around to try and find him some animal feed.

"Oh, Tom, when's you get here?" Asked Josh with a cheerful voice.

"I was here the whole time though…" he mumbled.

"Well anyway, Tom look, did you see the little lambs?" he asked excitedly.

"Yes, I-" he replied quietly as Josh once again dragged him off to look at the lambs, cutting off his words.

When they were back at the fence Josh excitedly grabbed Tom's arms and looked him straight his eyes, "We need to get in there." he said seriously.

Tom looked back at him and nodded with a small smile on his face. Then Tom began to fiddle with his fingers, and with a quiet voice he asked Josh a question, "Are we allowed to go in there?" he said with a quizzical expression on his face.

"Uhm, we should be! People are petting them from outside, but look over there," he said as he pointed into the enclosure, "there's a bench thing over there, lambs don't sit on benches, do they? So it means we can probably go in!" Josh said with a wide smile on his face.

"Mm, I guess you're right…" Tom replied with a nervous expression on his face.

"Yeah, so I want to go in there! come on!" Josh said with closed eyes as he smiled brightly at Tom.

"Well, Why don't I just watch you? Then… won't you have more lambs to yourself?" Tom mumbled as his eyebrows furrowed slightly.

"Do you not like lambs?" Josh asked as he tilted his head to the side with a worried expression on his face

"No, but, uhm… I was just- I like them, I just, like, what if we're not allowed in there… I don't want to be told off… and stuff…" He said as he looked around at the people staring intently at the sheep uncomfortably.

"But- But the lambs!" Exclaimed Josh as if lambs would fix any and all the problems anyone would have.

Tom sighed, and before he could further decline the offer of petting and feeding the lambs, Josh once again dragged Tom to the fence gate and pushed it open.

He walked inside with confidence with Tom in tow, knowing that his mom and dad would bring the animal feed to feed the lambs.

After walking a couple of meters forward Josh stopped and turned around, he saw Tom still lingering around the fence gate, Josh smiled widely at him and waved Tom over in an attempt to have him join him.

However, Tom only looked back at him with an uncomfortable expression on his face. He stood glued on the spot until suddenly a lamb began walking up to him. The lamb slowly went up to Tom and then began to rub its head agasint him, nuzzling Tom.

Tom looked down and his cheeks flushed as his eyes started shining and his eyebrows furrowed, he bent down and petted the lamb who looked up at him, a starstruck look appeared on his face and he stepped further into the enclosure.

Another lamb then came up from behind Tom and sniffed him causing Tom to jump in surprise, a scared expression plaguing his feautures as his eyebrows shot up and he accidnetadlu but his tongue, Josh seeing this began to laugh loudly.

Tom then poked his tongue out with a helpless expression on his face as his tongue stung.

Josh looked around for his parents as they hadn't yet brought the animal feed and he saw that his mother was taking pictures, he then saw his and Tom's father both rushing over it then with moderately large sized buckets in their hands.

The fathers both went up to the fence and passed the buckets of food over the fence to the two boys who took them happily. Tom's mothers then took out her phone and began to take photos of the two boys happily.

"Thanks dad!" Cried out Josh happily as he quickly turned around and plopped down on the bench with the animal feed.

Josh took a handful of animal feed and extended it towards a lamb that was stood not too far away from him, the lamb looked at him and bleeted before beginning to walk towards him.

Once the lamb reached him it stopped in front of him and started eating out of his hand, Josh emailed happily and placed the bucket between his legs as he used his free hand to rub the lambs small horn nubs on top of its head gently.

The lamb didn't seem to be bothered by the action as it continued to eat from out of Josh's hand happily.

Tom looked over at Josh and smiled at the sight as he slowly made his way over to the bench too, he then gently sta down next to Josh and also began to feed the lambs from the bucket.

As Tom fed the two lambs near him handfuls of the animal feed, Josh's hands go from his lambs horn nubs down to the head and then to its fluffy and soft fur. The lamb he was petting had black and grey fur covering its body.

When Josh finished feeding the numerous lambs all the feed from his bucket he went over to Tom and pressed his hands together pleadingly, "Tom, my super cool friend, can you let me use some of yours too?" He asked as his eyes shone as he forced a mock pitiful look into his face.

Tom looked away briefly before looking back into Josh's face and letting out a long sigh, "…Fine." He said after a while as he extended the bucket slightly to let Josh take a few handfuls as he once again went around the small enclosure to feed the lambs.

When Josh and Tom finished all of the animal feed they both had they left the enclosure together. Josh's parents opened the gate for both of the boys, "Make sure to wash your hands, boys." Said Josh's mother with a smile.

Josh looked over at Tom and sighed before going towards the sink with Tom in tow.
