"I guess I will see you tomorrow, right?" Mika asked Yren as they reached the first-floor room.
"Yup, but I might be bringing someone along with me, so try not to be a pest. One of the biggest problems is that people can't normally understand monsters, right? Mother, do you have an answer?" Yren asked.
"This is one of the major problems, but it will be fine since your father asked to unlock the dungeon secrets rather than receiving a gift. Now, all that enter can understand them, but only you can talk to them in other Dungeons," Mira said with her voice echoing in the room.
"Wait, but then how did dad get to you?" Yren asked in an uneasy voice.
Yren had never thought about that part before, but he didn't know this was possible before last night.
"Your father is something special to me for what he did! The first human to complete a dungeon without killing a single monster! I was on the edge of my seat many times, watching him fight and somehow communicate with everyone using no words!" Mira explained in a voice that was filled with excitement, like she was reliving the moments.
Yren was surprised to think that his father would have the patience to do something like that, but it wasn't unthinkable. Not like Tybrus didn't just wait twenty years in silence.
"Is it okay if I bring Ginny? She is my Dispatcher, and she asked to come with me today," Yren asked.
"Yes, she is trusted, but you need to be wary of her sister. I will not say more, but I ask that you send your father to see me on your way to the guild if you don't mind," Mira asked, and a smile crept on Yren's face.
He was excited to be able to show someone this new amazing thing that he had discovered, but it was talking with his mother like this. Even though it was a disembodied voice, Yren felt like his life was starting to make sense.
So many years growing up without even knowing he had a mother, and even though she wasn't what he had expected, this was more than he could have asked.
"Sure, I grab him, and I'll be back tomorrow to see both of you!" Yren called as he ran out of the Dungeon.
Mika looked up at the roof and hummed. She was filled with a mix of nervous and excited emotions.
"Is there something bothering you, Mika?" Mira asked, and Mika shrugged, sitting down on the ground.
"It's been over four hundred years since another girl close to my age has come here, so I am a bit nervous," Mika said quietly, pulling her knees up to her chest.
"From what I hear from Tybrus, she is a very nice and polite girl, but there is a problem, and I am not sure what we are going to do about it," Mira said in a tired voice.
Suddenly, a shimmering image of Mira in a red dress appeared and sat down beside Mika. The Were-rabbit leaned into Mira, and the Dungeon Goddess stroked her hair.
"What's wrong with her sister?" Mika asked, and Mira let out a sigh.
Even the goddess had a hard time believing this was true, but Tybrus was close friends with the girl's mother. The fact that one of the Demons that did this was so close to everything just made things that much worse.
"She is a Demi-Demon," Mira said plainly, and Mika stiffened, slowly looking up.
"You aren't serious, are you? That can't be right, can it? Never in any history has that ever happened, right? You told me about everything more than once, and I don't ever remember hearing something like that!" Mika exclaimed, and Mira nodded with a knowing but uneasy smile.
"That is correct, and that also makes it more confusing because that means the Demon is uncomfortably close to us. There is an excellent chance that he already knows about Tybrus, but I don't understand what would cause a Demon to do something like this? What is his end goal?" Mira pondered, but Mika had no answer; but she was shaking.
"What does this mean? A Demon can't come into the Dungeon, right?" Mika asked in fear.
"No, but a half-human one could, but I think she had only just come of age last year. Tybrus has been watching her, but she has only gone into a single dungeon. We don't know what that means yet, but it is a curious situation," Mira said thoughtfully.
She knew that this could spell disaster for everything they had worked for, but there was another side. There was no reason for a Demon to lower himself to take a human wife, but that could start as a bridging point to try and extend the connection.
Yren opened the gate to his yard and headed into the house, grabbing some dried meat from a bowl as he walked through the house. His father wasn't inside, but he could hear the pounding of his hammer.
"Dad!" Yren called as he poked his head into his dad's small smith shop, making his father jump and then scowl at him, but then grin.
"So? You're back in one piece, but a little earlier than I thought you would be," Tybrus said as he finished bashing a dent out of some armor, he was repairing.
"Yeah, the second floor was a bit of a rough go-alone. Mother asked to tell you to come to see her soon, and I am going to ask if Ginny wants to join me tomorrow," Yren explained, and his father stiffened, getting a serious look on his face.
"Are you sure about this? What did your mother say?" Tybrus asked, sounding agitated, and Yren nodded.
"Yeah, but mom wants to talk to you about something. I think it's about Kimora, Ginny's sister. I have only seen her a time or two, but mom says I need to watch out for her, but what is that about?" Yren asked, but Tybrus shook his head.
"Nope, I will talk to your mother first. You go talk to that girl; she seems to have taken a liking to you, according to Rephilia," Tybrus explained, and Yren gave his father a confused look.
