Golden Eyes

"What? How do you know that? I thought she was just being friendly," Yren said, and his father gave a snort and then grinned at his son.

"Don't worry about Ginny; she is a sweet girl, and keep your distance from Kimora," Tybrus explained as he took his gloves and apron off.

"Don't worry. The few times I have met Kimora, she was cold and rude, so keeping my distance will be easy!" Yren said with a laugh, but his father still wasn't smiling.

"There is one other that you will have to watch out for, but this is just a friendly warning. Rephilia knows of our strength, and I have fought off her sexual advances more times than I care to count, ya know? I am just warning you that she thirsted for strong men, and she has more than likely told Ginny to get close to you," Tybrus said with a grin, giving him the thumbs-up, and Yren groaned, slapping his hand to his face.

"Ugh, why are you giving me a thumbs up?! This sounds like a major headache! I want to get stronger, not mess around with women!" Yren growled as both men left the smith, and his father laughed at him.

"This is part of becoming a man and an Adventurer, ya know? You find a pretty girl to stand at your side, and you protect them! Your mother always stands by my side when I fight, and that's why I never go to other dungeons!" Tybrus explained as the two men got into the house.

"Maybe, but I still think this is going to be a headache," Yren complained.

"I don't disagree with you, but I don't think you will ever be able to run from Rephilia, ya know! Be just best to get to know her girl. Not like she isn't a sweet one, and I kinda thought the two of you might get along," Tybrus said with a laugh, slapping his son's back.

"You have too much free time on your hands, ugh! I will bring Ginny alone, but I am not going to force her to fall for me! I am going to the Dungeon to get stronger so I can help everyone who is imprisoned!" Yren growled and stormed out of the house, slamming the door behind him.

Tybrus chuckled for a moment but then became serious as he thought about the talk he was about to have with Mira. It would be about Clyde and Kimora, the two most frustrating and confusing people in his life.

Yren grumbled to himself as he headed to the guild, not watching where he was going. A man standing outside of the guild watched him approach, grinning to himself.

This was Casey Locke, Rank three Adventurer, but only after a year. He was more interested in dueling with newbies and taking their coins when he won.

The kid that had come by the Guild Hall this morning but had a pathetic score. This was the perfect target for someone like Casey, and as the messy-haired kid approached, the Adventure prepared to trip Yren.

Casy stuck his foot out, but even though Yren was not paying that much attention, his body instinctively dodged the other Adventurer's foot and kept walking. The rowdy Adventure tried to turn to yell at Yren, but he was already inside the Guild Hall.

Across the street, there were a pair of golden eyes watching the event that had just happened. The half-Demon Kimora was watching Yren from the shadows.

The man that had tried to trip the boy was walking over to a dark alley beside the guild and disappeared into it. There was a group of men deeper in the alley that Kimora had scouted out when she had arrived an hour ago.

Kimora was replaying the scene in her head, but it didn't make sense. No human could have moved so gracefully to dodge that foot, nor would have one just let that go.

Her father has said this human was different, but this was probably just a fluke, but she wasn't done watching. The man had gone to get more friends, and they were probably going to try and jump him.

Kimora would not help the human, but she was curious to see what would happen. There could be a chance that he was hiding something, and as someone that also hid her true identity, this intrigued her.

As one of this world's true rulers, in Kimora's mind she felt that humans were beneath her because of her half-Demon background. The truth was that she had been cursed with a frail body, and she lacked combat strength.

After her first attempt at a dungeon, Kimora refused to accept this and told her father that she was above the dungeons. Her father knew the truth but didn't press her, letting her be as is.

Her mother was another story and was consistently trying to force Kimora to train, but her barbarian mother's efforts had no effect. This had been one of the leading factors to her anger and hate for other humans.

Kimora blamed her frail body on her mother, but the truth was that not even Clyde knew why his daughter was the way she was. This was one of the most significant worries he kept from her about his plans for unification.

Now her father was telling her to bed that human male, not giving her any choice. Not that she could refuse her father, but she would never accept a mate that wasn't as strong as her father.

As much as she hated him, the man could kill every person in this town without breaking a sweat. If she was destined to be frail, she wanted the strongest child to carry her dreams of becoming a warrior like her father had thousands of years ago.

For now, she was waiting to see how the boy would deal with the men that she was sure were going to try attacking him. Depending on how well he did here, it would help her make her next choice.
