Inna left down the stairs, and Yren was left standing in front of Kimora's door. Getting to sleep in Ginny's room would have been too easy, but Rephilia seemed not to care if he got any sleep.
Still, where was he supposed to sleep? Yren had never slept in the same house as a girl, let alone the same room!
He was tired, but even if it was Ginny's room, he would have been in the same predicament. It probably would be worse, since Ginny would be far more welcoming.
"No! Stop thinking about it! You need sleep!" Yren whispered to himself, trying to pump himself up to enter the room.
"You know, It helps if you open the door. I don't think she will bite you, but I can't make any promises!" Clyde said from behind Yren, making the boy jump, and whirl around.
"What are you doing here?!" Yren whispered harshly, and Clyde lifted his eyebrow.
"Well, this is my house."
"Oh, yeah. I guess that makes sense."
"Personally I would give you your own quarters, but Inna is a real threat. Ginny might have been the best choice, but I do have faith in my wife's choice. I am sure that you understand, you are pretty smart!" Clyde said with a smile, and Yren thought about his words.
It was true that it would have been easier to sleep in Ginny's room, but if this was supposed to work, things had to balance. Yren was sure that Ginny would understand; she seemed to care about her sister's happiness a lot.
"Yeah, I get it, I think. Thanks for the advice Mr. Starmond," Yren replied.
"Of course! Now, you have a battle ahead of you, but call me Clyde, or father-in-law! Go forth, and get some sleep!" Clyde replied with a flourish and turned back to his room.
Yren nodded, and turned back to the door, but waited until Clyde closed his door. He took a deep breath, and then opened the door, letting his breath out in a sigh.
Kimora was sitting up in bed with her arms crossed.
"What took you so long?" Kimora demanded.
"Sorry, this is my first time sleeping in the same room as a girl," Yren said nervously as he closed the door behind himself.
"Hmph! Fine! This is my first time as well! You will sleep in my bed but on top of the sheet!" Kimora declared, making Yren flinch back like she had struck him.
"Are you sure? I was just going to ask if you had extra blankets, and sleep on the floor. To tell you the truth, I might not be a lot different from home," Yren chuckled nervously, while rubbing the back of his head.
Kimora paused and stared at the awkward boy that was standing in front of her door. This wasn't the same person that had danced through his foes or demanded that she attend practice.
"It's fine," Kimora said, looking away from Yren.
Yren gulped because at that moment, she looked really cute. He steeled himself, and Yren walked over to the right side of the bed and started to unbuckle his armor.
Kimora watched him until he was trying to reach the strap for his chest plate around Yren's lower back. Kimora gritted her teeth as she watched him struggle, and was about to help him, but Yren managed to free the buckle.
Yren let out a sigh, and then looked at his shirt, and it was dirty from the last couple of days. His pants were no better, so Yren removed and folded them as his cheeks heated up.
"Sorry, I didn't want to dirty the bed," Yren said, facing away from Kimora.
"Just get under the cover!" Kimora shouted, and instantly Yren was in the bed, under the covers, but on the sheet.
Kimora sighed as Yren stared nervously at the ceiling.
"Face the wall, and go to sleep," Kimora ordered, and Yren flipped to his side, slamming his eyelids hard enough to make them click.
Kimora sighed and rolled to face the other wall in frustration. Why was he the one that was so nervous, and she had to tell him what to do?
All of this frustrated her because she knew that he was strong, but for some reason, she made him weak. Yren had told her that he could make her stronger and had designed something that got everyone excited just for her.
"Good night, and thank you for sharing the bed with me. Tomorrow we will go out, and I will teach you how to use the new weapon," Yren said as he finally relaxed.
It was hard not to. The bed he was in was like nothing he had ever felt before, and the ebs of sleep was starting to pull at him.
"Fine!" Kimora said as her face burned with heat, and Yren chuckled as he slipped into sleep.
Kimora stayed awake until his breathing became deep and rhythmic, thinking about how strange Yren was. Her last thoughts were of Yren dashing forward in a flash to save her.
The next morning, Yren woke up on his back, but there was a small warm body pressed to his side. Opening his eyes slowly, Yren found Kimora pressed into his arm, fast asleep.
Smiling, Yren closed his eyes, and just enjoyed the moment. Kimora was not gripped tight to him, so Yren slipped out of bed and quietly started putting his clothes on.
Once dressed, Yren quietly picked up his armor to go and put it on in the hallway.
"I can help you with that," Kimora said from the bed behind Yren, rubbing her eyes.
Yren turned and smiled.
"Sorry for waking you. I was trying to let you sleep," Yren said with a placating smile.
"I am coming with you."
"Woah, wait!" Yren exclaimed, dropping his armor.
"I will wait outside until you are finished with Ginny, and then she can wait until we are done," Kimora explained, and Yren nodded.
"Okay, I am fine with that then. We will have to stop by my dad's place to pick up your weapon. Then when we get there I will set you up to practice, and then your sister and I will go inside. Does that sound good?" Yren asked after explaining.
"Fine."
