Episode 62. Prologue for Exams pt. 3

My slow footsteps began to sound louder as soon I entered that dark building.

The sound of my steps was heard as if taunting the kidnappers to come at me.

One by one, they started showing their cruel faces.

Ugly smiles, but showing signs of worry were written on their faces.

"H-how did you get in?!" Said one of the kidnappers. He looks scared but still uses his petty smile.

Unfortunately, my path was not very clear, I continued my steps forward and passed the 'spikes' that were making noise towards me.

"OYYY! I'm talking to you!" His anger rose.

If it was one-on-one, maybe I could hold myself from taking his life, but if it was a squad like this, it would be difficult. What's more, it's indoors.

After all, I had almost forgotten my original goal.

'No more killing!'

Taking people's lives is like picking a flower in a garden.

I don't want to go back to being that person.

Fight! In order to complete my mission, the last request of my dear friend.

My head feels like it's being impaled by a million needles after remembering it.

I gripped a piece of iron from the cold stairs tightly to stop myself from getting out of control.

"HOYYYY! Are you deaf, asshole?!" They came to me with annoyed faces.

JRASSSH!

I sprayed ice particles towards their feet.

This situation makes their legs unable to move at all.

"W-what have you done?!" He said while hitting the hard ice.

Are they blind or something? I froze their legs. Why do they still ask what have I done?!

I froze in front of the stairs, my body turned 180° without including my feet.

A blank stare I gave to those who resisted.

As if there was very strong pressure, the kidnappers just stared at me in fear.

The situation on the ground floor has been successfully secured, now for the next floor.

The sound of my soft, loud steps became increasingly loud in their ears.

....

The winds at the top floors made my nose and ears redder.

'The higher the floor, the colder it is, right?'

Who made this place?

Unlike the previous floor, this floor was filled with frozen ice, the floor was slippery, there were cracks all around it, and in addition, there was ice that was shaped like a needle which looked like it could thrust a person's body if they slipped there.

There were no guards here, but this slippery floor filled with traps was enough to stop an outsider from coming.

"If you want to play games, it's better to be with someone else!"

I slashed fire waves towards the middle of the floor.

Instantly, the floor filled with traps immediately melted and receded through the cracks.

If I recall, the location of the crack is the same as where I froze the people at downstairs.

Hopefully, nothing happens... Right?

The situation on the 2nd floor is clear, now walk towards the 3rd floor.

....

My footsteps became louder on the third floor.

But the voices that greeted me still did not enter my ears.

And when you get there...

I'm disappointed with them.

"Too many obstacles!" I said annoyed.

My patience meter was decreasing so I had to take a shortcut.

BAK BAK BAK

I made the sound of long steps towards the window.

PRANG!

The window glass on the floor was broken due to being hit by a fast object.

The object that shattered the glass immediately climbed one floor after another until the top.

The top of the floor, I can't be careless and just barge in.

My eyes see through the glass and begin to inspect the floor.

There was a person with blonde hair, a big body, and white skin who was playing with the princess's face.

The frozen body of the princess gave no signs of resistance.

There's not much I can do now, the only thing I know, he's really annoying.

Just looking at its face already makes me think of my brother.

PYAR!

The sound of breaking glass shocked the entire floor.

"What was that?!"

Without giving them a chance, I ran toward their boss using Light Magic.

The sound of footsteps and hands trying to catch the flash of light seemed in vain.

Only fools would try to fight the speed of light.

Coming at the boss, I quickly attacked the person's neck with an ice knife.

"So they really exist, huh? Nova's Loyal Slave!" He said as he tried to breathe.

"Shut up, George Chris! From now on, your fate and that of all your subordinates... is in my hands!" Emptiness sounds out in every one of my words.

What fate should be given to them?

Perish?

Life?

Prison?

Suffering?

The worries that never happened before are now being felt again.

I really have to choose it.
