Episodes 165. Badtime for Reunion

The sound of a car speeding like a flash was quite loud. The car drove in the middle of the dark road as if it had no regard for rules. All the light objects around the road immediately scattered and flew about.

There were about six people in the pick-up truck with one person sitting in the back. Widodo, Xander, Tasya, Samuel, Haran, and Zarbeth sat inside the car while Bahar was the one sitting outside.

Those riding in the car wore anxious and panicked expressions. It wasn't because of that teacher, but something big that had just happened.

"That explosion just now... was pretty big, wasn't it?" Haran asked the whole crew in the car, her face drenched in sweat.

"Even without my sight ability, I could tell that the explosion was quite massive!" Samuel, who was sitting in the middle seat, could only respond as best as he could.

The explosion they had just witnessed was indeed huge. Even the building that got hit was instantly leveled to the ground. The red color that swelled like a balloon became a beautiful yet terrifying spectacle in the dark of night.

*Bang!

"Damn, we're already late!" Bahar pounded the metal of the truck bed with his fist. "This is all because of you, Haran! Asking us to go to your house to get your weird stuff!"

Now, the big man was blaming the woman.

"Hey! How dare you say that I'm the problem!"

"Isn't it true? You asked us to waste time getting some of your strange equipment! What's it even for?!"

Bahar started questioning the use of the tools Haran wanted to bring, willing to take the time just for those items.

Xander, Samuel, and Tasya could only stay silent, not daring to take the trouble. The conversation between the two was beyond the knowledge of the three of them.

On the other hand, unlike the others who remained silent to avoid getting involved, both Widodo and Zarbeth stayed silent and focused on the road because they already knew.

They both knew that Haran had anticipated the old woman's movements.

"Haran, if we go back... I'll punish you severely!"

"Just punish me! I don't care anymore... Besides, it's not even certain that we can return safely!" Haran's statement hit the mark. Everyone here had declared that they were ready to die.

Their argument would only escalate. If no one intervened soon, a split could occur.

"Can you two be quiet?!!" Widodo's usually calm voice suddenly startled the whole crew.

They all looked at Widodo with wide eyes, surprised. Haran and Bahar, who had been arguing, immediately fell silent and looked at Widodo in shock.

"Widodo?" (Haran)

"Mr. Widodo?" (Xander and Samuel)

"You..." (Bahar and Zarbeth)

"Mr. Widodo?" (Tasya)

From their reactions, it was clear that this was the first time they had seen him shout so loudly. Even for Bahar and Zarbeth, this was something new.

Widodo, after shouting, still gripped the steering wheel, although he was still full of emotion. Both hands clenched the wheel as if he wanted to crush it with his grip.

"You two... can both of you be quiet?! Right now, our problem is not the person with us... but that person, Rasyid Londerik... and Nova Sana!" Widodo's voice sounded loud and resonant.

"We are here to consider all possible ways to fight those two!"

"I don't want to blame Haran for us being late... We all lack preparation, and our opponents can even take someone's life very easily."

"Getting some equipment to prepare for them is the best choice right now..."

"If another teacher dies, then..." He paused, his body stiffening. His mouth thickened and thinned. His fingers gripping the wheel moved around.

"... Just let them!"

That statement shocked the entire crew except for Haran and Zarbeth. They had already prepared for this possibility from the start.

"They foolishly made a stupid decision by trying to attack someone who they already knew could kill six people like ants."

"Now Rasyid is with his master, which will make the situation ten times worse than before."

All of Widodo's statements left them silent. No one dared to speak or oppose those words.

Everything he said was a fact.

Attacking blindly would only bring more lives to their end.

Late or not, someone had likely already fallen there.

Bahar, who had started the argument, now could only look at the crescent moon. He remembered his past. The moon he saw now was the same moon he saw during his first fight before becoming a fighter.

He could be up here because of his strong will. His preparation for the future. He remembered how constant life was as a worker at a bread factory and how different life is now.

A baseball hobbyist has now turned into a fat man with a high position and can live peacefully. This is the life everyone dreams of.

His hands clenched into fists.

"I hate to say it, but... forgive me," he apologized reluctantly.

As the head of this school, he should act like a leader, not a boss.

"I'm trying to calm my mind, and now I'm trying to understand the situation..." Bahar tried to enjoy the view from the back of the pick up calmly.

In his mind, something was bothering him. "Haran, Zarbeth, and Widodo... It seems you all understand a lot about the dark side of Ningru City."

His words hit the mark, both Haran, Zarbeth, and Widodo could only remain silent. Samuel, Xander, and Tasya, who had just heard this, could only be bewildered. They knew the dark side of this city, but not its darkest side. They couldn't be blamed; the three of them had only learned about the darkest side of the city today.

"Hah (clicking his lips)! I figured, otherwise... there's no way you could be this calm," Bahar said with sarcasm.

"Forget it, if Haran has prepared for this. It means she is ready for all of this." Bahar turned his body and looked into the car. "Haran, for now! You're leading the crew!"

Haran only nodded calmly. She understood all the directions of the conversation. She was not surprised this would happen.

.......

The pick-up truck stopped near the mountains southwest of the building that had been flattened to the ground.

The whole crew, who had disembarked, could only watch with amazed and horrified expressions at the same time.

The mayor's building had been destroyed into the ground. How the building was destroyed was what amazed them. When saying the building was flat, it was not a lie. The building looked like a small desert in the middle of the city.

Across, more precisely southeast of the building, there was a giant artillery that could probably shoot far right in their direction from where they were standing.

"What is that thing?!" Samuel stared at the giant artillery with his magical power, hoping to see more clearly what that thing was.

"I don't know, but for sure... that thing is the weapon that destroyed that building!" Widodo said while straightening his tilted cowboy hat.

Zarbeth walked closer to the two of them, even though her eyes had problems. But something that big could still be seen by her. She squinted her eyes and nodded slightly.

She knew who owned that thing.

"That thing is made of pure magic," she said, placing both hands behind her back.

"Huh?!" Everyone there was shocked by the old woman's statement, but their attention was immediately diverted again.

"Who are you?!"

Someone called out to them.

When they looked, there were four people raising their weapons.

"Wait! You guys..." One of them immediately held back its weapon.

They recognized the crew that had just arrived.

That person walked closer until its face was visible.

The crew was surprised to see who the person behind the dark silhouette was.

"Fredrica?!" (Tasya)

It was a face they knew.

Several dark silhouettes moved forward and revealed their faces.

A man with a spear advanced. "Rasputra?" (Widodo)

A thin and old-looking man followed his steps. "Mr. Lodo?!" (Zarbeth)

Now the large figure followed suit. "Daniel?!" (Haran)

A sudden reunion was now happening.

What would occur next, chaos or an alliance?

It all depended on their hearts.
