Episodes 164. Backwards from Evolve

Boom!

The giant artillery was fired once again at the already collapsed building. The device was quite far from the building, almost as if they were positioned at a height just so the artillery could hit the top floor of the building.

The explosion was large enough that anyone there would be instantly obliterated without a trace.

The building that was the target of the artillery was now completely reduced to dust. Nothing remained there. Everything would vanish without a trace.

A well-dressed old man stood beside artillery , hands in his pockets. He watched the aftermath of the explosion with a cigarette in his mouth, as if watching a show.

"This is still not enough to kill her!" Despite this, the man felt no pleasure from this 'show.'

He knew that what he did wouldn't affect the old lady, but if the formula he got from that person was correct, he needed to make a hole and then blow up or freeze the rest.

"Hey! Are you insane?! How could you shoot while our friends are still in there?!" A man approached, holding his magic wand.

He cursed and scolded the man for what he had done.

"Didn't I already tell you? Those who went there were as good as dead." The well-dressed man turned his body and stared at the man with the magic wand.

"But... but..."

"Dare to go there, dare to die!" The well-dressed man raised his voice. His saliva even sprayed onto the face of the man with the magic wand.

"Can you still call yourself a governor when you kill your own people, Halim Perdana Kusuma?!" he retorted.

"We have an agreement here, don't we? I came here to eliminate the mayor, and you came here to avenge your brother. We have different goals but the same place." The governor asserted. "And... actually, you wouldn't be able to set foot there without my help."

"What did you say?!"

"That place is protected by a very strong CODE Magic, even your strongest attacks wouldn't be able to penetrate it!"

"Hah?! What do you mean?!"

"It means that if you only have 'reckless courage,' you won't be able to get there..." His voice softened but remained sharp and piercing.

*Ding!

A notification from a phone came in the middle of their argument.

Seeing the notification, the man seeking revenge named Vrandy was instantly shocked by its contents.

[All radar from class 3 Physics teachers has vanished, it's certain they are dead]

Vrandy's hands couldn't bear the weight of his phone, causing it to drop. His eyes welled up with tears, unable to believe what had just happened.

"Again, another have fall..." He looked at Halim with eyes full of anger and tears streaming.

Both his hands gripped the man's suit tightly, as if wanting to push him off. He wanted to, but he had no strength.

Vrandy realized that the more he wanted revenge, the more people would die in vain because of it.

His grip on Halim's suit loosened. Both his hands released the suit, and he tried to step back slowly.

*Ding!

The notification sound rang once more.

Vrandy picked up his phone that had fallen to the ground.

[A mysterious winged figure appeared and killed everyone there]

Vrandy was stunned, only able to gape at what he had read.

"A mysterious winged figure? Is that Rasyid?"

"No, there is one more person..." Halim dismissed that statement.

"Hah?!"

"Didn't I already tell you? I came here to take out the mayor!"

Vrandy's eyes widened, and all his nerves instantly tensed. "What do you mean by take her out?"

"I got information from my subordinate who got it from someone who is currently with the person you are targeting."

The information he referred to was about the Prince. He got that info from his subordinate, Gita, who got it from his friend named Stevent.

Initially, Gita didn't understand what Stevent meant, but after discussing it with Halim, he realized it was all true.

After hearing the explanation, Halim asked Gita to come here immediately without being seen (Make his friend faint if necessary). However, until now, he hadn't shown up. Pageblug that he gave to the kid was still active, indicating he was still on his way here without any problems.

Back to the present time, Halim explained what was actually happening to Vrandy. He explained that the world would soon be a vast prison. A world where crimes would be directly punished accordingly.

"Is that true...?" Vrandy was increasingly disbelieving and unable to bear this terrifying reality.

He couldn't grasp what was happening now, but he knew they would all be in trouble if they failed now.

Living or dying made no difference now if they failed. Living in the future would only make them creatures filled with fear, while dying would only make them become the forgotten. Both were equally disadvantageous.

.......

In the world within the coffin...

Rasyid sat cross-legged on a rock. Both his hands were placed on his knees, his eyes closed to brace for the pain, his bare chest exposed so Anitya could emerge through his skin.

"I'm coming!" Nazrul said while slowly closing his eyes.

He seemed to be meditating, his body still like a statue and very calm. He appeared to be gathering all the energy around him.

"Hak!"

His eyes opened, and his mouth opened wide.

I can feel it...

"Arghhhh!"

Something seemed to be sucked out of me. The pain of being drained was felt in my bloodstream. This pain was like my body being chopped repeatedly without end. My skin felt no adaptation to this pain. The pain was constant and kept torturing me and my mind.

Fortunately... After all of it was over.

My body felt a significant difference. There was no more heaviness in my bloodstream. My mind could work lighter, my body's movements felt weightless and very light. My previously non-functional arms instantly regenerated and reappeared.

My whole body felt light.

The feeling in my body, this was a nostalgic sensation. I could feel how it was to have a body without Anitya. No burden, no disturbing blood flow. What remained was only the fear of this body breaking apart.

I raised both my hands and looked at every side. My eyes could hardly believe what I was seeing.

"So this is your power, Brother Nazrul?"

"No, Anitya is a system similar to the internet, and only a few people can manipulate it. I am one of those people."

If it is as he says, then why...?

"Why didn't Nova remove it?"

"Have you forgotten? I am immortality itself. He couldn't remove that authority unless the immortality itself was also revoked."

"So that's why he only imprisoned you here?"

"Hmm (nodding)... Moreover, neither I nor that old lady expected someone to come here just to have their Anitya removed."

He had a strong reason. Anitya was like a basic necessity for humans now. Removing Anitya meant relinquishing immortality, and inside Anitya, there was also Elemental power. That meant those who removed Anitya would become the most backward creatures in this world.

"Now you are no longer immortal, but with your pure magic. I believe now you can defeat that old lady."

He smiled madly as if he had been waiting for this moment.

"Why are you smiling?" I asked suspiciously.

Surely he wanted something in return for helping me now.

"Hahahahaha! Ahahahahahaha!" He smiled creepily; I immediately took a defensive position for something bad.

But, it seemed unnecessary because... "Of course, I'm smiling because... The moment of that old lady's death is soon to come!"

I should have realized this earlier; as far as I remember, Nova betrayed him because she felt betrayed. And as a result of his actions, now my brother was stuck in here without being able to do anything. Being here for years must have driven him mad, so I was not surprised that he wanted to take revenge on that old lady now.
