"You are my light, wherever you go I shall
follow you endlessly." —Icychica_
"Sagwa..." Kazuchika addressed me a few days later. "I appreciate the way you stood up to my father like that but do you think you can really win against him?"
"Are you doubting me too?" I asked, eyebrow raised and arms folded.
"No that's not... it's not..." he muttered shaking his head trying to think of something to say.
"It's fine just say it, you don't believe I'm capable of doing such an important task, do you?." He looked at me without speaking, biting his bottom lip with guilt evident in his eyes.
"I don't think you can handle it, so I admit I'm worried about you." he confessed and I smiled.
"Believe me, I wouldn't have said I could if I couldn't, so don't worry too much, I have things completely under control."
"If you're sure, then I'll help you get started, come to the restaurant with me, we'll leave in a few minutes." He suggested and I gladly agreed.
I went into my room and did as instructed, as I got dressed pulling my hair into a ponytail my phone began to ring suddenly, so I answered it as I sat on my bed to zip up my black boots.
"I believe you have something that belongs to me." A neither male or female voice said, making me stop what I was doing in confusion.
"Who is this?" I hesitantly asked.
They laughed. "We'll soon meet Sagwa." The voice said calling my name, sending a chill down my spine before hanging up in my ear, I removed the device and stared at it, a little taken aback as I tried to understand what just happened.
"Maybe it was just some weird prank or something." I concluded going downstairs still slightly bothered by what happened.
But what if it wasn't? What did that person even want from me? Who are they?
I began to get lost in my thoughts as I stopped in the middle of the staircase, gripping the railing.
"Okay, so you ready to go?" Gokk do said, approaching me but I didn't respond. "Sagwa!" Still no response, he then climbed up the stairs. "Sagwa!" he called for me again, this time waving his hand in front of my face.
"Huh?" I asked now noticing his presence.
"I asked if you're ready to leave, Okada's waiting for you."
"I'm ready." I responded with a smile as I nodded.
"You are okay though right? You daydreamed for quite a while, you had me worried." he added meeting my gaze.
"I'm fine." I smiled again not telling him anything. "Let's go."
Upon arriving we were greeted by the staff, before Okada gave me a tour of the entire restaurant starting with the kitchen.
The many different delicious aromas filled the air as they did their work of cooking, I took that time to observe their working environment, which was very clean and well maintained as excepted the workers themselves were very tidy and they practiced good hygiene.
Noticing our presence the head chef gestured to his workers to stop working and greet us.
"Please don't mind us just continue as you usually do, I'm just here to observe, I wouldn't mind learning your names and positions though." I told them with a bow and they understood, introducing themselves one by one telling me what their jobs were, afterwards returning to work. I found the food presentation really beautiful.
"Woah!" I expressed as I witnessed a 'fire show' the experienced cook handling it calmly careful to not get burnt as the fire dimmed, I was really amazed with his skills to handle the flames.
As I explored the kitchen more my eyes subconsciously searched for someone and I wondered where that familiar face could be. "Where's Jin?" I asked Okada in hopes to see him once again.
"Seokian is currently checking a shipment of fresh vegetables that came in this morning." he explained.
"Ah." I said a little disappointed that I couldn't see him.
"Don't worry, you'll see him later." he added sensing my disappointment. "I'm surprised that you're looking for him instead of Soo-ah."
"She's the next person I hope to see."
"She hasn't come in yet, as usual. She should be arriving soon."
I giggled. "You say that as though she's always late."
"She tends to be, but I don't scold her about it because I know she has Sun-woo to look after."
"That's right she does." I laughed.
He then ushered me to the dinning area, there were the choices of eating with others or in a private room for special guests or the rich and famous if you know what I mean, that room is where he lead me to first.
It was in the middle of being set up with food and other items, so I assumed it was to be occupied soon. Next, he wanted to take me to the main dining hall, I wasn't going to go at first because I had been there already but I quickly decided I should, so I could have a better idea of where I will place everything for the fashion show.
Considering the fact that it was morning there were still a lot of people in the restaurant mainly in casual and work attire. "Who do you guys usually serve in the morning?"
"Mainly normal people on their way to work or school, the prices are reduced in the morning along with certain restrictions which allows them to eat here normally, they're being served breakfast foods at this hour, later it'll be lunch." he explained and I nodded.
"I get it, so you serve the public in the morning and the others at night, that's a pretty fair system." I admired.
"So, what do you think?"
"About what?"
"About using the dinning hall space."
"It's more than enough space actually, but I'll make my decision after I see how big the garden is, then again I haven't even talked with the client yet, I'll officially decided when I meet with them."
"Okay, I'll give you the client's contact info later."
This fashion show was going to take time to prepare but I could get it done, no doubt, I was curious to see the designer I'd be planning the event for.
He then continued the tour introducing me to the staff as we passed by more rooms until we went downstairs to finally reach the wine cellar, I've never seen so many rare wines in one place before. I wasn't that much of a drinker but even I could appreciate such exquisite liquor.
His phone then suddenly rang in the middle of him telling me the different types of wines. "I have to take this." he said and I nodded as he stepped outside. I then wondered away from him, looking around the cellar on my own, checking various corners, looking at the different bottles.
Before Okada took the call I remembered him saying that the shelf's are never left empty and are refilled immediately, and that they are 20 bottles per shelf; however, I noticed a few bottles were missing which puzzled me. "I guess there must be a reason for that." I mumbled running a hand over the wines.
"What are you doing?" A voice said from behind, startling me. I stumbled over my feet, falling backwards, which could've ended badly considering the fact that I was surrounded by glass, but he swiftly caught me turning me to face him, as our eyes met, I immediately recognized his face.
"Yunho?" I asked in both surprise and relief to finally run into him.
He released me. "Who are you and what are you doing in here? Not everyone is allowed in this room." He looked at me with suspicion.
"Um... I... uhh, my name is Min Sagwa." I stammered a bit flustered.
His eyes widened a bit. "Oh, you're Okada's girl—"
"I'm his friend." I interrupted knowing what he was about to say.
"Yes, but that still doesn't completely explain why you're in here."
"He was giving me a tour of the restaurant, but he had to take a call so he stood outside the door," I explained. "You didn't see him when you came in here?"
"No, no one was standing out there." he replied, I sighed and rolled my eyes at the fact that he actually took off without saying anything. "You should go look for him. I have work to do."
"Yeah you're right," I agreed politely bowing. "Thank you for earlier." I said referring to when he stopped my fall, I turned on my heel to leave but he grabbed my hand.
"Wait a minute, earlier you called me by my name, if this is your first time here, how do you know who I am?"
"That is— well I— I didn't know your name. It was a lucky guess, you have the face of someone who would be called Yunho." I said holding my breath, hoping he bought it, he looked at me strangely before releasing my arm nodding.
"That is true." he agreed and I smiled exciting the room before his suspicion aroused one more time.
When I was upstairs again, I leaned against a wall and sighed in relief. "Kazuchika that bastard." I mumbled.
"Sagwa!" A female voice shouted, making me turn around only to see Soo-ah walking towards me with a smile plastered across her face.
"Soo-ah!" I squealed in delight at finally being able to see her.
"Hi, fancy seeing you here." Soo-ah said folding her arms.
"That's a long story." I replied with an awkward smile.
"I'm all ears," she said. "But let's get some caffeine first." she suggested, taking me to the kitchen, where we both got a hot cup of coffee, she lead me to a nice little room where we could talk.
I explained to her in detail the incident that had taken place a few nights before, with Kazuchika's Father. "I knew things were bad but this is ridiculous, why does he pick on you like this? You didn't even do anything wrong to give him a reason to dislike you so much. You did the right thing not backing down and taking on his challenge, if he wants to prove you're incompetent, he'll stop at nothing to do it, that man preys on the weak." Soo-ah said and I could feel her anger fuming as she spoke.
"Soo-ah calm down, I'm use to it, don't worry my special trait is proving people wrong." I told her, hoping to calm her down.
"Sagwa you don't understand the real reason he's doing this to you." she said, making eye contact with me.
"The real reason?" I titled my head to the side in confusion.
She sighed avoiding my gaze before looking back up at me. "He doesn't like the way Kazuchika runs things, he thinks that he's too soft as a leader. Remember how I told you other gangs hate us the most because we try to maintain a certain level of peace?" She looked at me for confirmation and I nodded. "They aren't the only ones who do, his father also doesn't like it. That's why he wanted to force Okada to marry someone from another gang, someone who understands how gangs work, so she could assist him, which of course Okada didn't like and as a result, I'm afraid you're just caught in the middle of their feud."
"Oh okay, I think I get it now." I replied taking a sip of my coffee feeling sorry for Kazuchika because I may have ruined his once great relationship with his Father.
"See, so it's not your fault, Mr. Okada is just a really controlling person especially when it comes to his kids, no wonder his older son left the family business, he couldn't handle his controlling ways." Soo-ah said making me look at her surprised.
"Wait, he has another son?!"
"Yes but no one talks about him," she then whispered. "Don't tell anyone I mentioned it to you. Honestly, I've never see him before and I have no knowledge of where or who he is."
"I see."
"Anyway is there anything I can do to help?"
"You can take me to the garden."
"Sure." She smiled finishing her coffee and in a few minutes she lead me to the garden.
"Woah!" I expressed being met by the beautiful flowers and plants, there was even a fountain and pond with fish inside. It was more than enough space for the show, I started subconsciously planning everything out in my head where the sitting would go and where the stage would be, my head was now flooded with thoughts.
Noticing my silence Soo-ah asked, "Everything okay?"
"Everything is perfect, who would've guessed all of this was behind here, it doesn't look that way from the outside my mind is blow." I said still star struck by the incredible design of this restaurant.
"That's the idea, it's to give that wow factor, you know what they say, go big or go home." she said with a wink.
Pass the fountain the pond even had a little bridge, it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen, I made my decision to host the fashion show in the garden, I still had to discuss it with my client and tell them my plans.
"Hey Sagwa." Soo-ah whispered from behind me, bringing me out of my thoughts.
"Uh yes." I replied, wondering what she was up to.
"Wanna see something really cool?" she asked excitedly.
"Sure." I answered, not sure what she was getting at, she then clapped twice suddenly and the whole garden was filled with lights, even though it was still morning they were still clearly seen and it was even more breathtaking, I could only imagine what it would look like at night.
"This is awesome, I'm really excited now." I squealed happily.
"Yeah! I'm willing to help you with the planning too if you need it."
"Great, but can you help me find Kazuchika first?" I now remembered my original quest.
"Right, of course."
