[Bonus chapter]Confinement-4

"You have what I ordered?" the old man asked. Currently, he was sitting in the Maiden's beer pub with a thug-like woman.

"I have exactly what you need. But I don't see my money anywhere." The woman said with a smile.

"You will have your money after I have tested the thing." The old man said while extending his hand toward the woman. He pushed his open palm in front of the woman. The woman then sighed and reluctantly handed a small cylindrical object to the old man.

It was a black color cylinder that had the same size as that of a palm. The cylinder had a red color button at one of its ends. The old man inspected the cylinder first. After he was satisfied with his inspection, he put a small bead black color bead on the table.

"Would you please be a doll and get this bead across the tavern." The old man said to the woman.

"Is it… safe?" the woman asked.

"Yes, it is safe. Now go on then." The old man then shooed the woman away.

The woman then reluctantly took the bead and went straight towards the other end of the pub. She then raised her hands in the air with the bead in her hands. As the woman raised her hands, the old man then send some mana into the cylinder. After sending some mana, he just simply pressed the button on the cylinder. As he did the bead on the woman's hand exploded and burst open while creating a small explosion.

Seeing this the old man smiled. Because of how noisy the pub was no one heard the explosion. The flash of the explosion did attract some attention from some people but nothing major happened.

The woman then angrily walked towards the old man's table and sat down in front of him with a grumpy face.

"That hurt." The woman said angrily.

"That is why this time payment would have something extra for your inconvenience." The old man said. And then he put a small pouch in front of the woman and stood up.

"Pleasure doing business with you." The old man said and then he started walking out of the pub.

Then that woman hungrily grabbed the spatial pouch left behind by the old man and started looking in it. She saw there were thousands of gold coins in that bag. She smiled as she saw how much she had earned. She then got up from the table and went to the bar to have a drink of her own…

POW

David received another punch across his face. Currently, he was being tied up on a chair in a dark room. He is surrounded by soldiers wearing white color breast leather armor and they were beating the shit out of David…

"You kno... For some… one big as you… you hit like small bitch….." David said to his assaulter.

"I may punch like small bitch. But don't forget, this bitch has your balls in his grasp. So I will ask nicely again. Where is the necklace?" the soldier asked again.

"Like I said before… I don't have any fucking necklace." David said while spitting the blood out of his mouth.

"It looks like our little friend over needs some motivation. Greg, could you please bring me my toy box?" the man beating David asked one of the soldiers.

It was then the door of the room was swung open, and a soldier rushed in. He had uneven breath which told them that he ran all the way over here.

"We got the wrong… guy." The soldier who ran into the room spoke.

"Wrong guy?" the man beating David asked.

"Yup… his story checks out… he came with Duffy…. Then Hume and his team found a local crook with the necklace. This guy… innocent." The soldier said while taking deep breaths.

"Bad luck kiddo…" the man beating David said.

After that, David was escorted out of the dark room. Till that time he had lost a lot of blood and he was head was spinning around. So he started passing out in between the journey.

David first woke up again and saw that the soldiers are escorting him towards a carriage. They then threw him at the back of the carriage. He then passed out again. He woke once again and saw that the carriage came to a stop in front of a white color house. The soldiers then took out David from the carriage and brought him inside the house. He passed out once again soon after they entered the house with him.

The next time he woke up, David saw that he was lying in a comfortable bed. He looked around and saw that he was in a brightly lit room. He then got up and looked around. The room that he was currently in was a small room with only a bed in the middle. Other than the bed there was no furniture in the room.

He then looked at his hands and body and saw that his wounds were now completely gone. Not only that he saw that he was in entirely different clothes right now. Seeing this, he got confused as he had no idea what happened. It was then the door in the room was flung open. From the room, a man entered wearing white color leather armor. David recognized the man immediately as he was the man that was beating the shit out of him before…

"Good you are awake." The man said while coming toward David. He then put an envelope and a pouch beside him on his bed.

"This is a letter of recommendation from the Encharge of Battalion number 786. With this, you can have a chance to enter top schools of Faction. Even Emerald Garden can accept you if you show talent with this letter. And the pouch contains enough money for you to start a new life in Faction." The man said.

"You got the real culprit, didn't you? And all of this is sort of an apology. Isn't?" David asked.

"I don't know what you are talking about." The man said. And then he turned around and went out of the room.

David then looked at the pouch and the letter. He then started thinking about what he should do. After contemplating for some time, he picked up the pouch and letter and shoved them in his inventory. He then got up and walked out of his room.

David had faced a lot of instances in his life where he had to shove his ego and moral compass inside his ass and move on with his life. And taking that money and letter was such a decision. He knew inside of him that he wants to hunt down those two fuckers that attacked him. He wanted to rip them apart and throw their remains in the sever of this city. After that, he wanted to beat the shit out of the fuckers that tortured him. And then leave them be after doing some nasty things to them. But alas, he couldn't do all of those things.

He had no power right now. He was dealing with awakened ones, and it was pretty clear to him that he couldn't take them head-on. Another reason for not confronting those men was because they fairly compensated for their misdemeanors. The recommendation letter from the in-charge of the battalion could help him a lot in getting into a good school. And that is way more important right now than small squirmish.

David had learned a long time ago revenge should never be taken under pressure from emotions. It is better to take revenge after all the emotions had vanished. He couldn't count how many times he took hasty decisions under the pressure of emotions and it cost him dearly. He didn't want that to happen to him right now, after all, he is in a special situation currently.

So he shoved his ego and emotions far deep in his heart and went outside the facility he was in.
