Spooky building

With my eyes fully opened, I took in the details of the houses as we flew past them. The nearer we get to them, the more beautiful they seem.

"Where are your people?" I ask after a short while of not seeing anyone as we flew past. It seems as if we are flying through a ghost town.

"It's an auspicious day in the Kingdom of flames. No one is seen at home during the fight to the death."

" Fight to the death?" I shiver a bit," What's that?"

"It's as the name implies. It's a fight to the death, and a way to determine the next head of the guard."

" A fight to the death? " I thought about the name.

" Do you want to see it? I can take you there." The Devil offers," only if you have the heart to see it." He taunts.

" Take me there."

Unable to allow the Devil to taunt me, I decided to show him I'm more than capable of going to the so-called fight to the death arena.

"Are you sure about that human? The arena isn't for the feeble-hearted."

"And you think I'm one of the feeble-hearted?" I raised a brow at him, though he can't see that.

"Of course not, wife. I know you're more than capable of stomaching whatever happens in the arena."

" Then take me to it."

The Devil changed course. Instead of going straight to his palace-like was intended before, he changed direction towards our right.

"How are you able to fly?" I tried to look at him but wasn't able to based on the tight hold he has on my waist.

"It's a secret love."

"Don't call me that!"

"As you wish, my love." He chuckled before he dived.

Weaving through the trees while I shouted at the top of my lungs at how fast he was moving.

Unable to keep up with him, and still retain my sanity, I tightly close my eyes.

"Slow down!" I urge him.

"We are almost there." He said, and a moment later, I felt him stop. "You can now open your eyes." He urged me.

"Are you certain?" I slowly open one of my eyes before I opened the other.

"Where are we?" I look around the place.

Unlike the places we flew past, this place looks more like how I imagined the kingdom of the devil to be.

The house in front of us is a spooky, dark one. Surrounded by mist, the house looks like something straight out of a horrific imagination.

Not only is the house a spooky one, but the surrounding has an aide to it. The overgrown dark bushes around the house also helped it in its spookiness.

Cobwebs as big as life itself took residents around the house, and crickets were up for some competition.

The door of the house and its windows look more like something that fought with the elements and emerged with some scars.

"The Arena of death." The devil spoke in a monotonic tone, "let's go. The fight is about to start."

He walked towards the door of the spooky building.

"Wait for me!" I ran after him, afraid something might emerge from the bush, and do unspeakable things to me.

"Are you afraid, wife?" The Devil smirked. "I never pegged you as one."

"Who said I am afraid?" I roll my eyes at him. "If there is anyone to be afraid of, it has to be you."

"Of course." He said no other words as he walked into the building.

Chancing a look around, I ran after him and linked our arms together.

"I thought you are not afraid?"

"Who said I am? I'm just looking out for you."

" I can see that."

The devil took a very dark path, and I had to keep myself from saying anything so as not to make the Devil aware of the fact I'm afraid of not only the dark but the building we are into.

Undoubtedly, there must be cobwebs in here too!

"No matter what you see in there, never enter the ring." The devil said with a note of warning.

"Why?" I had to stop myself from rolling my eyes at him, "do you think I'm ready to die?"

Who in their right senses will enter a ring with such a name?

I rather get shackled with the Devil for the rest of my life, than get into an Arena where a fight to the death always takes place.

Thank you very much.

I love my life.

"There's no telling what someone as crazy as you are is capable of doing."

Before long, we came to a door guided by two hefty demons.

Unlike the corridors we walked through, this place has some light, and that was how I was able to see the hideous demons in front of us.

"Gods!" tightly clutching to the Devil's arm, I tried to calm my racing heartbeat as I gave each of them a look.

If I had thought the yellow demons I saw with the Devil when I escaped were hideous, then they have nothing to these in front of me.

With horns as long and large as life itself, the blue and red demons in front of us look like something straight out of a nursing maid's horror book.

The fanged demons in front of me are everything I imagined the devil to be, but it turned out my imaginations weren't for the devil, but for his demons.

"My Lord." They bowed at the sight of the devil.

And that was when I saw their wings.

"Gods." I take a very deep breath as I lean on the devil's chest. "Tell me all these are the imaginations of my mind and not reality."

" These demons are the level five demons. They are not close to the top, neither are they near the bottom. They are the in-between demons, and the best choice for guards."

" You mean they are real?" I look at the demons who are still bowing to the devil. Their faces to the floor as they patiently wait for the devil to ask them up.
