Luciana Meets Ella

Ch-11

Next day...

Luciana woke up feeling weird. She felt as if a ghost was walking inside the house. She should do something about it after the interview. Luciana took a bath and then tried drying her hair but it was impossible, with her wounded hand. She called Joe for help.

After she got ready, Joe dropped her in front of the school. Looking at the watch she sped up only to bump into an elder lady.

"I am so sorry," Luciana said and helped the woman stand up.

"Are you hurt, Ma'am?" Luciana asked, checking the woman's hand and legs.

When she saw no injuries she let out a relieved sigh.

"Ma'am, Please come with me. We will sit there for a while," Luciana said.

A few men dressed in black clothes tried to come forward, but the middle-aged woman signalled them with her hands making them stop. All these things went unnoticed by Luciana.

She picked up the purse of the woman and dusted it before handing it to her.

"Thank heavens you are not injured, Ma'am," Luciana said as she smiled. She led her to the stone bench near the school, which was under a tree.

She made the woman sit there and took out a bottle from her bag. She uncapped the bottle and handed it to the woman, asking her to drink.

"I am so sorry again. It's My Fault," Luciana said.

She started feeling awkward at the woman's silence. "I am Luciana," Luciana introduced herself.

"I am Ella," The woman said. Ella Bernadette... She didn't say her full name.

Ella came here to drop her grandson Charlie but when she saw Luciana here with a man, she wanted to know why she was there. If she tried to follow her grandson, then she was someone whom they needed to maintain some distance and show a red flag.

Instead of sending people to investigate, she thought of asking things in person, but who would have thought she would turn around and make her fall down.

Looking at her reaction and the way she behaved she looked like a good person. She didn't look like the kind of person who would do things for money.

"Are you okay?" Luciana asked again after she got a reply from this woman.

"Yes, Young Lady," Ella said.

"Thank god," she said with genuine relief.

Looks like there seems to be a misunderstanding here, Ella thought.

"You seem too young to be a mother," Ella said.

"Huh?" Luciana was shocked but then covered it with a small chuckle.

"I am here for an interview," Luciana said.

"Oh! I thought there were no vacancies here," Ella said in a surprised tone.

"There is. I got to know about the vacancies just yesterday," Luciana replied.

"Oh, looks like you are keeping an eye on the school. Do you like to teach children?" Ella asked.

"No. I lost my job yesterday and on the way home, I stopped by the park. There I saw a woman distributing fliers about job vacancies. And that's how I know," Luciana said with a genuine smile.

'Indeed there is a misunderstanding here,' Ella thought to herself and regretted thinking ill about the woman.

"When do you have your interview?" Ella asked.

"In one and half hours," Luciana said.

"All the very best, young lady," Ella said.

"Thank you," Luciana said and ran away forgetting to get her water bottle back from the woman.

"Lady Bernadotte," her PA called her.

"Shall we leave?" he asked.

"Carl, call the principal and ask him to hire the woman named Luciana," Ella said.

"Anything else, my lady?" Carl asked.

"Nothing, Let's get going," Ella said with Luciana's bottle in her hand and looking in the direction Luciana ran.

Inside the School...

After two hours,

Luciana felt something was weird with the way the interview went. She was the least qualified person to be hired by everyone there. She only has certificates from Crash courses, while the other candidates have degrees in the music zone. Yet she was the only one who got the job.

"Miss Carlson, We can fire you anytime if you don't do your job well or if you go against the rules of the school, " The Principal said as he looked at her slightly confused expression.

"I know you may be wondering that you are the least qualified person to get the job. Our Current music teacher will return in three months. After her return, the current teacher would become her assistant. Everyone who came here, except you were not convinced of this fact. So we hired you," he said with minimum honesty.

Luciana felt it was reasonable but again it was weird. No one would explain this much, right?

Whatever... she will take the job. At Least for three months, she doesn't need to be bothered about her bills.
