A Meal

Ch-72

Luciana has no choice but to answer Charlie's question. Her big almond-shaped eyes peered at his innocent dripping big watery eyes as they peered back at her with curiosity. Luciana doesn't want to hide it from her. She doesn't have the heart to not answer him. But again she can't tell him it was because of his elder uncle and his dad she got sick. The kid might get hurt. So, she has to sugarcoat the pain. She can't stab his little innocent heart with words or by the truth.

It just happened to be the hardest part. Hurting yourself for someone else's feelings was the hardest part. And Luciana has to do that. That too for the son of the man who tried to make her life hell. She gave a mocking smile to herself in her heart for her current situation. She can't even say she was in pain.
