Chapter 15: The 'Rat' In The Gang!

Anna didn't expect that Broke will remember their talk last night about sending her family to jail first and then talk to talk more about Ivan. She couldn't negosastionate with Brooke, even though she understood why she wanted her parents in jail, some stuff didn't make sense.

The first one was, why Brooke didn't expose her family herself? She knew that she was skilled, but she didn't know how skillful she was, but still why she didn't expose her parents?

The possibilities for this could be that she still has some feelings for her parents, or she doesn't have the proves of their crimes by the lack of skills or even manpower.

The second one was how Brooke was talking about Ivan himself. She was talking for him like a father figure and role model of hers.

If that was the case, wouldn't that mean that Brooke was his ally? Also, Anna was feeling that Brooke was trying to stall... for something, like she was trying to buy some extra time, but for what?

Anna only had a hunch, but she couldn't blame someone with just a hunch because there was a chance to be wrong, even though so far her hunch was never wrong.

Unfortunately, she didn't have much choice, she had to play along, and the only thing she could do was be prepared for whatever outcome.

Anna and Carlos return from Switzerland exhausted and defeated.

The moment they came to the mansion Tom, Henry, Ron, and Kristy welcome them with good news and bad news.

- Oh, come on now! Give us a break, would you? (ANNA)

- What happened? (CARLOS)

- Do you want the good news first or the bad news? (KRISTY)

- The good ones, we needed them after a huge defeat. (ANNA)

- Diego wakes up! He gained his conscience a few hours after you left, and now he is much stronger. He even manages to take a couple of steps. (TOM)

- Yeah... like a Christmas miracle or something. (KRISTY)

- Diego wake up? Why you didn't notify me immediately, you idiots? (CARLOS)

- Who is it? (CARLOS - IRRITATED)

- It's... Jeremy!... Jessy's... boyfriend! (TOM - SAD)

- Um... Who's Jessy? (ANNA)

- Your intern in the hospital Anna! (KRISTY)

- Oh yeah! Blondie's sister... btw are you two twins? (ANNA)

- Anna! (KRISTY)

- What? I was always curious about that. (ANNA)

- YOU HEARTLESS DEVIL, IS NOT ENOUGH THAT YOU DON'T EVEN REMEMBER HER NAME NOW- NO- N... (TOM - MAD)

One glare from Anna was enough for Tom to lose all his words and make him shut his mouth.

- " She really is the DEVIL! HER- HER EYES... just GLOW!" (TOM - SCARED TO DEATH)

- *SIGH* Ok, enough with fun and games, now, where's Jeremy? (CARLOS)

- We already captured him and he is in the basement of the torture room. (HENRY)

- Good! I will go right now. Tom and Henry will assist me with the interrogation. Anna, could you please go and talk to Jessy about her boyfriend's thing? You are the only one who can console her right now, please! (CARLOS)

- Do I look like a babysitter? I also need to speak to that 'Rat' guy about Ivan. (ANNA - WITH RAISED EYEBROW)

- I'm sorry my lady, but it's my turn to have some fun. I promise that if he won't talk until midnight he will be all yours, how about that? (CARLOS - EVIL SMIRK)

- Fine. Where's jenny? (ANNA)

- It's Jessy, YOU DEVIL! (TOM - IRRITATED)

- Huh? Did you say something blondie? (ANNA-GLARE)

- Oh my, boss look at the time, we should hurry up and torture that traitor. (TOM)

- "Why the hell did you provoke her in the first place, since you are afraid of her?" (CARLOS, HENRY, RON)

Carlos, Tom, and Henry went to the basement to the torture room, Ron returned to the security room, and Anna and Kristy went to see Jessy who was still with Diego who was recovering well now!

On their way, Kristy asked Anna what 'his turn to have some fun' was about. Anna explained to her that they agree to have the 'Leadership' by turns in order to be fairer for both sides. Since Anna had the lead in Switzerland now it was Carlos's turn to make the decisions about the 'Rat' in the gang, and about their next issues, it will be Anna's turn.

- We decided to call it 'Fair-trade.' (ANNA)

- Indeed, sounds fair. You two really became close like... (KRISTY)

- partners should know each other and work together to gain mutual trust, which proves how good leaders we both are. (ANNA)

- Yeah... partners... but what kind of partners? (KRISTY)

- Why are you so upset to pair me up? Shouldn't you focus to find your own "Partner"? (ANNA)

- For everything, there is a right time, Anna. (KRISTY)

- Then how do you know that my time is now? Huh? Wait... "For everything, there is a right time"? Isn't this something that bastard would say to us? (ANNA)

- Xmm... you are right! He may fucked our lives but he was a wise man. (ANNA - SARCASTIC)

Anna and Kristy reach for the door of Diego's room.

- Anna, please be... tactful about the news of Jessy's boyfriend. No need to unleash your 'Bone hammer' on her. (KRISTY)

* 'Bone hammer', it's a nickname Kristy gave to Anna because sometimes she uses her "Brutally Honesty" with others with the result to hurt them like someone smashed their bones with a hammer*

- I will try. (ANNA)

However, the moment the door was open Jessy run to her, knelt down on her knees, hug her lower part tight, and started begging for forgiveness for the kidnapping thing and later about the stuff she has been thought.

Apparently, Ron was coming here a lot and he was talking to Jessy about what was happening since she was stuck in the room taking care of Diego.

- Jenny, listen up. I don't care about this stuff, I'm here to tell you that they found the 'Rat' in the gang! I'm sorry... it's your boyfriend! (ANNA)

- "Jenny? Who's Jenny?" (DIEGO)

- My... boyfriend? (JESSY - CONFUSED )

- A guy named Jeremy. That's what your brother told us. (KRISTY)

- B-But... I broke up with Jeremy... a year ago... because... I didn't have much time... since I was too busy in the hospital. (JESSY)

- "Probably because she changed specialty!" (KRISTY)

- Then, why the hell am I here? (ANNA - IRRITATED)

- ANNA!!! (KRISTY)

- Arg... I have more serious issues to deal with right now. You can stay to console her if you want, I don't have time for babysitting. (ANNA)

Anna stormed out of the room completely irritated, while Kristy was left behind to explain the situation to them.

- haha, I'm really sorry about that... you see... um... the situation it's kinda... complicated... (KRISTY)

- Don't worry, everyone is a little tense about my shooting and finding the 'Rat' and that Ivan guy. I'm Diego, and you must be... Kristy, Dr. Wilson's friend who is a very skillful hacker, Ron told us. (DIEGO)

- Nice to meet you, Diego, and Jessy! (KRISTY)

- Y-You are... my MENTOR'S friend! You must know a lot about her! Please tell me how to make Dr. Wilson like me! (JESSY - EXCITED)

- Eh? (KRISTY - AWKWARD)

- "Oh boy... this... will be... very awkward!" (KRISTY)

Carlos, Tom, and Henry spent hours torturing and interrogating Jeremy, but the guy was much tougher than they thought it will be. No matter what method they use the answer was always the same.

- I will talk to Anna, and only to Anna, directly. Don't waste your time and energy. (JEREMY)

- Boys leave us alone for a while and prepare the next device for our special 'Rat' we had in the gang for so long. (CARLOS)

- Yes, sir! (TOM, HANRY)

Tom and Henry went to the next room to prepare the next torture device until Carlos will call them back.

- Carlos is really irritated this time. (TOM)

- Can you blame him? The 'Rat' was someone who we thought we could trust after all. (HENRY)

- Xmm... I wonder what made him betray us, I thought he really loved Jessy. How could he do this to her, my poor sister. (TOM)

- When I went for a break upstairs I heard that she broke up with him a year ago. (HENRY)

- Xmm... now that you mention the devil... Henry... I saw it too. Her eyes... I saw them... glow. (TOM)

- Y-Y-You... saw them too? (HENRY)

- What if... she is really not... human? I mean... which kind of person's eyes glow? (TOM)

Soon it was midnight, and it was Anna's turn to meet the 'Rat' named Jeremy. Anna got down in the basement, entered the torture room, and stay at the in shadows to observe her prey's reactions. Carlos, Tom, and Henry of course were close by listening to the conversation.

- I heard that you wanted to meet me. (ANNA)

Jeremy raised his head to finally look at the 'special' child who heard so much about it.

- TSK!... I don't see... anything special... about you... except- (JEREMY - EXHAUSTED BY THE TORTURE)

He stops talking the moment he meets with her eyes, and soon enough they start glowing like a predator when seeing its prey.

That's how he was feeling right now, like a prey... and he was face to face with a... MONSTER!

- "W-W-What... t-t-the h-h-hell... is happening?" (JEREMY)

- Did the cat get your tongue? You were barking all day like a dog to talk to me, and now you got muted? (ANNA)

- I-I-I have ... message... for you... from... him... (JEREMY - TREMBLING WITH FEAR)

- "So, the 'Rat' in the gang really was working with Ivan. Carlos won't be happy about it." (ANNA)

- What's the message? (ANNA)

- He said... to tell you... to go... back to... the place... where... everything... began! (JEREMY - TREMBLING WITH FEAR)

- I see. Since you have done your part... there is no reason to... stay alive... you knew that right? When you decided to betray the most powerful gang in the world. (ANNA)

- "I-I-I'm sorry... I didn't know... I really didn't know back then... please boss... forgive me." (JEREMY - SCARED)

- Anna, wait! (CARLOS)

Anna turn around and saw Carlos behind her, she was surprised that he had actually stopped her from killing someone.

- Uh... is there a problem? (ANNA -WITH RAISED EYEBROW )

- Of course, there is a problem! What do you think you are doing? (CARLOS)

- "Boss! You came to save me from the DEVIL! THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I SWEAR THAT I WILL NEVER BETRAY THE GANG EVER AGAIN." (JEREMY)

- That killing it's mine!... Unless... you want me to be the one who will kill Ivan now that you know his location? Hmm? (CARLOS -SMIRK)

There was a pause for a while.

- Suit yourself! (ANNA - SHRUG HER SHOULDER)

Anna left soon after, Carlos didn't notice anything usually because he was celebrating his "Killing Victory".

After a couple of hours of sunrise, Carlos realized something.

- "That was satisfying. It's been a long time since I had such fun, torturing someone to death." (CARLOS - SMILE)

There was a pause for a while.

- "Xmm... now that I think about it... she agreed too easily for some reason... WAIT! Don't tell me she left all by herself to find Ivan?" (CARLOS - THINKING)
