Stay Awake

"Why would he just leave like that??" asked Wura to herself as she just stood there thinking.

"I did not chase him away at all" said Wura as she could not understand why Liam would just leave like that.

"Well whatever his reason is, it has worked for me" said Wura as she smiled, she was finally going to be able to sleep well tonight.

The only question on her mind was where was she going to sleep?? There was not way that she was going to sleep on his bed, who knew what that man could do?

Then Wura's eyes went to the couch and she smiled as she had found the perfect place for her to sit.

She walked towards the couch and she picked up the book that Liam had left on the couch, it looked like some sort of war tactics book, Wura was not interested in that subject at all, so she just placed the book on Liam's desk and she sat down comfortably on the couch as she held the cloak tightly to herself.

This was clearly not how she had imagined her wedding night at all, all she wanted to do right now was to sleep and get this night over and done with, and then it dawned on her!

Why was she going to sleep here?? She was not serious if she did so, because now that she thought about it, all Liam had said was that he was going out, who was to say that he was not coming back??? And yet if he did come back, she surely could not sleep off dressed like this, Liam was not a saint at all, and Wura did not trust him at all.

"You have to stay awake Wura, you have to" said Wura as she tapped the side of her cheeks with her hands, she was going to have to stay awake till dawn, that was the only way she could ensure her safety.

Wura looked at the golden candlestick that had three candles lit, it was on Liam's desk, Wura watched the candles for a while, before she began to doze and she opened her eyes again.

"Stay awake Wura, *Yawn*, stay awake" said Wura to herself as she yawned and she opened her eyes, the candles lit on the candlesticks had gotten smaller and smaller as they burned through the night.

"Alright Wura, you can do this" said Wura to herself as she closed her eyes for a long time and she opened them again, she was starting to doze, she held her cloak closer to herself as she strove to stay awake.

Wura dozed once again, and she opened her eyes slightly as she looked at the candles they had reduced once in size again.

"I… *Yawn*… let me just close my eyes for a moment" said Wura as she yawned and she closed her eyes as she finally drifted off into slumber.

The sound of footsteps could be heard as the Castle was very quiet at this time of night, it was about 12 midnight, and if anyone was awake at this time, they would have been accused of being a witch.

The door of Liam's room opened and he walked into the room, his eyes went to the bed, and he could see no one there, which was very odd, and it made him furrow his brows, until his eyes moved to the couch, and he finally saw who he was looking for.

"Of course" said Liam to himself as he shook his head, he should have known that she would not be comfortable at all in his room at all.

Liam walked over to the couch, and he looked at Wura's gentle sleeping face, she looked so peaceful and quiet, like a gentle, timid woman when she slept, but that was far from her true Character, she was not easy to control, she was wild and stubborn, and of course very proud.

"Umm…" said Liam as his eyes travelled down and he happened to see a glimpse of Wura's leg as she had moved in her cloak, now he knew why she had covered herself with the cloak.

"This should do" said Liam as he walked over to his bed and he took a white blanket and he covered Wura in it, and she snuggled up in the blanket as she smiled, and he smiled at her.

"If only you could be this nice to me when you are awake" said Liam as he smiled as he looked at her face.

He walked back to his bed, and he took a pillow from the many that were set on his bed, he gentle lifted Wura head, and he put the pillow under her, and he laid her head back down softly on the pillow, and Wura slept soundly.

"Sleep tight" said Liam as he took one last look at Wura and he smiled at her, before he turned to look at his desk, and he looked at the candles that were almost burnt out, he walked to his desk and he blew out the candles as the room became totally dark, and he walked out his room and closed the door behind him.

The Next Morning

The Sun had already risen, and all the Castle staff were already awake as they were preparing breakfast.

Wura opened her eyes as she yawned and she stretched, her cloak had fallen off through the night.

"Is it morning already?" asked Wura to herself as she yawned.

"I feel asleep did I not?" asked Wura as she as she rubbed her eyes, her hair was messy and her eyes were heavy.

"How did this blanket and pillow get here??" asked Wura she could not understand, she had no recollection of last night after she had sat down on the couch, and now she woke up wrapped in a blanket and with a pillow for her to rest her head.

"Well Good Morrow" said Liam as he smiled and he walked into his room.

"I see that you are finally awake" said Liam as he had come to his room earlier, and Wura was not yet awake at that time, and he did not want to disturb her so he had let her get her rest and he left the room.

"Were you the one who covered me with this blanket, and rested my head on the pillow?" asked Wura as she did not even greet him.

"Someone did not wake up well this morning" said Liam as he laughed, he did not even mind that she was being rude.

"Well yes of course I was the one" said Liam as he saw her glare at him.

"I came to check on you during the night, and it was cold" said Liam as he rested his back on the wall.

"I do not understand why you just did not let me go back to my own room??" asked Wura as she looked at Liam suspiciously.

"Well you were more than welcome to go to your room" said Liam.

"But you would have to be the one to explain to your parents and my father why you did not sleep in my room" said Liam as he smiled at her.

"Oh…" said Wura as she had forgotten about that, that was true, since they were married, there was no reason why they would have done the deed, and she could not lie to his Majesty.

"That is what I thought" said Liam as he smiled.

"Well where did you sleep?" asked Wura as now she had felt bad that Liam had left his room for her, while he went to sleep elsewhere, that was no fair at all, she felt guilty, and she had not even greeted him this morning.

"I was working in my study" replied Liam, Wura knew that he just said that so as not to make her feel bad at all.

"Well it is rather late, and my father and your parents are expecting us for breakfast" said Liam as he looked at Wura, and Wura removed the blanket that was covering her.

"Why did you not wake me up then if we are already later?" asked Wura.

"Well you were sleeping very peacefully, and I did not want to disturb you" said Liam as he walked into his closet and he brought out his coat.

"Besides, this is no time for argument at all" said Liam as he walked out of his closet.

"You cannot go out looking like this" said Liam as he gave her his coat.

"Looking like what?" asked Wura as she looked at him and he pointed at her.

"Oh…" said Wura as she looked down and she remembered that she was still wearing indecent clothing and she grabbed Liam's coat from him and she used it to cover herself.

Her belly button could be shown and she wore a light white attire, and there was a large slit in her skirt.

"I will see you at breakfast" said Liam as he smiled at her.

"Won't it be suspicious that we did not arrive at the dining room together?" asked Wura as she stood up and she wore his coat over herself, it was way too big for her.

"No, not at all, as long as the guards see you coming out from the direction of my room then we should be alright" said Liam as he smiled, never in his life did he ever think that he would connive with his newly wedded wife to make everyone think that they had slept together even though they had not.

"Oh… alright then" said Wura as it seemed like Liam had taken care of everything.

"Nora outside waiting for you" said Liam.

"Thank you your highness" said Wura as she nodded her head.

"What are you thanking me for exactly?" asked Liam as he smiled, was she thanking him for letting her have her way, or for him letting her sleep in his room, or for him calling Nora? Which one of those was he thanking her for.

"You do not need to know what for your highness" said Wura as she scoffed and she left his room, could he just be nice for once??

"Ha" said Liam as he laughed to himself, they had barely been married a day and yet he had already gotten his wife angry, he found that very funny.
