"So, Lady Marli, do you have any children?" asked Wura as she was curious, Lady Marli looked much more older than her mother, and if she could say so, she looked older than her father as well, so if she did have children they would be much more older than her.
"Well No my princess… I have no children" said Lady Marli as she poured herself another cup of tea, Wura's questioning was becoming very deep, she was asking her questions that no one else would dare ask her, and they were becoming too personal.
"And why is that so?? If I may ask?" said Wura as she did not want to see rude, but how could Lady Marli have no children, she was a very beautiful woman, even in her age now.
"It is alright my princess, you may ask" said Lady Marli as she smiled.
"I was not able to bear children" replied Lady Marli with a sad smile.
"Oh… I am so sorry Lady Marli, I did not know" said Wura as she felt bad, she knew that the worst thing for a woman to pass through was that they were not able to bear children, it was simply sole crushing, heart breaking that they would never be able to carry their own children.
"It is alright my princess, it is not your fault" said Lady Marli as she smiled.
Bareness was an evil curse, that not even Lady Marli would wish on her worst enemy, it was just too much for a woman to bear.
"Everything happens for a reason" said Lady Marli as she smiled sadly, she had always wondered if she was cursed, and maybe that was why she was unable to bear her own children, she had watched others get married, have their own children and start their own families, while she remained barren, watching her years go by, it just pained her, and she had learnt to live with that fact.
"I…" said Wura as she did not know what to say, it was one thing to encourage someone, and nothing thing entirely to try to comfort someone, and Wura was sure that Lady Marli did not need her comforting, lest she open up some bound wounds.
"And your husband?" asked Wura as she changed the subject, she had seen a gold ring on Lady Marli's finger, which meant that she was married.
"Well my princess, he passed away, not too long ago" said Lady Marli as she smiled sadly.
"Oh my… I am so sorry, please accept my deepest apologies Lady Marli" said Wura, this woman had been through too much, from realizing that she was not able to bear children to the loss of her husband.
"I do appreciate that my princess" said Lady Marli as she smiled, she liked how compassionate Wura was, and her compassion was sincere, she could see it in her eyes, unlike others who's compassion was only from their mouth and face.
"As you can see my princess, with everything that I have lived through in my lifetime, the only place where I feel relieved and free is in the Castle, or in the Church when I go there to pray" said Lady Marli as she smiled, it still felt like it was just yesterday when her precious husband had passed on into greater glory, he had been ill for some time, until one day he finally gave up.
Lady Marli's deepest regret was that she was never able to bear him a child, he was such a gentle and patient man, who stood with her, even though she was no use to him, and for that she would be forever grateful to him, but she felt so empty without him by her side, which was why she devoted herself wholeheartedly to her duties, in an attempt to relieve herself.
"I understand you Lady Marli" said Wura.
"We all need a place where we can feel safe and relaxed" said Wura.
"And I pray that the Lord will grant you all the comfort you are seeking for" said Wura as she smiled.
"Amen" said Lady Marli.
"Thank you my princess" said Lady Marli as she smiled.
"There is nothing wrong with taking a break for yourself" said Wura as she smiled.
"Well my princess, I believe that we have spoken enough about my life" said Lady Marli as she smiled.
"I am sorry if I was insensitive by asking such personal questions" said Wura.
"No, not at all my princess, you are actually very kind" said Lady Marli as she smiled, and Wura smiled at her as well.
"So my princess, how have you been settling into the Castle?" asked Lady Marli as she smiled, she wanted to make sure that Wura was being taken care of well.
"Ahh well, I have been settling in rather nicely" said Wura.
"Everyone is kind and nice to me, and I appreciate that" said Wura as she smiled.
"So has everything been to your liking my princess??" asked Lady Marli as she smiled.
"Yes Lady Marli, they have" said Wura as she smiled.
"Except…" said Wura as she just seemed to remember something.
"Except for what my princess??" asked Lady Marli, because if anything at all bothered Wura, they could easily change it or get rid of it.
"Well… Nora informed me of some rules that I am expected to follow" said Wura as she remembered why she had called for this meeting with Lady Marli in the first place.
"Yes my princess… there are some rules that need to be followed by you as princess" said Lady Marli.
"Yes Lady Marli, I do understand that, it is acceptable that as Princess, I must follow some rules" said Wura as her face scrunched up a bit when she said the word princess, she still could not get used to that title, all her life she was just Wura, and yet now, she was a princess, it just felt so overwhelming, and she had not yet gotten used to it.
"But Lady Marli… I found some of the rules a bit… well a bit unreasonable" said Wura as she hesitated.
"Unreasonable in what way my princess?" asked Lady Marli.
"Well Lady Marli, some of the rules are just simply too much" said Wura.
"I find most of them unreasonable and a tad annoying" said Wura.
"My Princess, those rules are put In place for a reason, they are to make sure everything runs smoothly in the Castle, and that you as a princess, keep a worthy image to the people that look up to you" said Lady Marli.
"Those rules have been there for a long time, and I am sorry my princess, but you must follow them" said Lady Marli.
"Lady Marli, I agree with you, but some of them are just funny" said Wura.
"In an example, one of the rules, the one about me not able to go to his highness until he calls for me" said Wura.
"That is really not a good rule, his highness if my husband, if I have something important to tell him, it does not make sense if I am not allowed to meet him" said Wura.
"And another one being that I am not allowed to clean" said Wura.
"I love to clean and cook, I was raised like that, and I am not saying that the maids are not allowed to do their duties, no, of course they are, but sometimes, I would like to do some things for myself" said Wura as she explained.
"My Princess, what you are telling me is something new that I have not heard of before" said Lady Marli as she sighed.
"But those rules have been there for as long as I can remember" said Lady Marli.
"Lady Marli, do you remember when Wyverdale was nothing more than one Kingdom?" asked Wura as she smiled.
"Of course I do" said Lady Marli.
"Yes, and from then, we have grown into a jovial and happy Kingdom, filled with different people, sure we have rules, and yes those rules are reasonable for us to live in harmony together, but do you remember that it was the abolishment of some rules that led for us to be a untied people?" asked Wura as she smiled, she had once read a book on the history of Wyverdale.
"You do drive a good point my princess" said Lady Marli as she sighed.
"I am glad that you think so" said Wura as she smiled.
"Well alright my princess, I am review the rules and some of them that seem unreasonable can be resolved" said Lady Marli.
"Thank you Lady Marli thank you" said Wura as she smiled.
"No, Thank you my princess, for being so kind as to listen to me" said Lady Marli as she smiled.
"Everyone deserves to be listened to" said Wura as she smiled.
"Well my princess, I truly am sorry, but I must continue my daily check around the Castle" said Lady Marli as she smiled and she stood up.
"Oh well that is alright Lady Marli" said Wura as she stood up and she smiled.
"Please enjoy the rest of your day Lady Marli" said Wura as she smiled.
"I will, and the same to you my princess" said Lady Marli as she smiled and she walked out the room.
