Be involved

"My Queen, what are you doing?" asked Nora as she walked into Liam's room, only to see Wura doing what appeared to be packing.

"Packing" replied Wura as she focused on what she was doing.

"Why my Queen?" asked Nora in confusion as Wura looked at her.

"Well because Mero, Elihu, Zechariah, and the rest of the troops will be in the camp and I cannot just stay here, pretending as if all is well when it is not" said Wura.

"But my Queen, have you discussed this with Mero first?" asked Nora as she was sure that Mero would be against Wura going to the camp with the rest of them.

"There is nothing to discuss, I am the Queen, my place should be with them on the battlefield" said Wura as Nora looked at her with wide eyes, she did not like the word battlefield.

"But my Queen, you should reconsider, it will be dangerous out there" said Nora.

"I know Nora, and that is exactly why I cannot just stay here while the men are all out there in a dangerous place, I need to go there, I am the leader, the Queen, It would be cowardly for me to stay here in the comfort of the castle while many innocent people are suffering" said Wura as Nora sighed, knowing that she was right.

"I know how you feel my Queen, but for your own safety, I believe it is best that you stay here, you are the only current ruler of the Kingdom my Queen, if anything was to happen to you, the entire Kingdom would suffer" said Nora.

"I know that Nora, but currently they would suffer even more if I stay out of it, I want to be involved, I doubt anything bad would happen to me, Mero and the others will be there to protect me, but what I know is that I must be there, to show support and courage of the Kingdom" said Wura.

"I know that if Liam was here, he would want me to do that, he never wanted me to be scared of anyone or anything, and I am not going to start now" said Wura.

"I am going to the camp, and that is final" said Wura as Nora sighed.

"As you wish my Queen" said Nora as she bowed her head and Wura realized that she had sounded very harsh right now, It was not her intention, but no one was going to dare stop her from going.

"Look Nora, I know that you mean well and you are only care about my safety, but I need to go" said Wura.

"I will feel horrible if I do not go, I already feel as helpless as ever being here and not with the people whose homes were destroyed and burnt down" said Wura as she sat on the edge of the bed and she sighed.

"I am sorry my Queen, I know how much this is affecting you, I should not have made you feel any worse than you already do" said Nora apologetically.

"It is fine Nora, I know that you did not mean it" said Wura.

"But if you do not want to go, and you wish to stay here, that is perfectly fine Nora, I will understand" said Wura.

"No my Queen, of course not, my place is always with you my Queen, you know that I will follow you anywhere" said Nora as her words made Wura smile.

"And I know that if I do not go with you, you will forget to eat and take care of yourself" said Nora with a smile.

"Of course Nora, what would I do without you, thank you" said Wura as she walked to Nora and she hugged her as Nora felt the same.

"My Queen, let me help you pack" said Nora with a smile.

"Alright Nora thank you" said Wura with a smile.

"I actually need more easy to move in clothes" said Wura.

"Ahh my Queen, maybe your horse riding clothes would suite better" said Nora.

"Ahh yes Nora, that is better, I did not think of that, thank you" said Wura with a smile.

"You are welcome my Queen" said Nora with a smile.

"I will go get you the clothes" said Nora.

"Thank you Nora, and get some for yourself as well, dresses will not be comfortable" said Wura.

"Yes my Queen, please excuse me"" said Nora as she nodded and she left the room as Wura sighed and she looked at the rings on her finger, she just missed Liam so much.

And every day that passed she was starting to lose hope that he would return, it just made her realize that she had to continue with life no matter how hard it was, and because of that reason, she was going to make sure that this war did not dare escalate any further.

"I promise you Liam, the East are not going to win" said Wura to herself with a sigh.

A carriage could be seen riding through the valley as it suddenly came to a stop.

Wura got out of the carriage as she looked at the beautiful valley scenery in front of her, she had never been here before, she was surprised by how beautiful it was.

Wura could not help but feel sad, she had a feeling that this valley would not remain this beautiful, it was the setting for a war, Wura felt her heart breaking internally.

"My Queen, are you alright?" asked Nora as her voice snapped Wura out of her thoughts as she turned to look at her.

"I am alright Nora" replied Wura as she faked a smile.

"Alright my Queen, I believe we should go now, before Mero worries" said Nora as some guards walked close to Wura as if trying to keep her safe.

"Yes, we should go" said Wura as she nodded, she did not want to cause any problems, there was just something about knowing that the East set up their camp right across them, it made her feel as if they would strike any moment now.

Mero was reading something in the tent when he suddenly heard the sounds of footsteps.

"My Queen, you know that I still do not agree with you being here" said Mero as he looked at Wura as Nora was standing beside her.

"And you know that you can do nothing to stop me from being here, so let us just move past that Mero" said Wura as Mero sighed internally.

"You let her come?" asked Mero as he looked at Nora.

"She is the Queen, she is free to do whatever she pleases" said Nora as Mero nodded, knowing fully well that Nora would never be on one side, she did not want to be caught in the middle of this.

"Enough of this Mero, how are Zuph, Elihu and Luc?" asked Wura.

"Well they are yet to return, I believe they should return by nightfall" said Mero.

"And what if they do not?" asked Wura as that was a possibility, she only realized now that going to the enemy's camp was something very dangerous.

"Then I will send some knights to go look for them" said Mero as suddenly there was a loud sound of a horn being blown.

"What was that??" asked Wura in confusion as she looked at Mero who narrowed his eyes and looked at the entrance of the tent.

"I do not know" said Mero as in that same moment a young knight ran into the tent.

"Sorry to disturb you your Majesty, Mero, the East are coming to our camp, they say that they want to speak to the leader" said the knight as he bowed down and Mero and Wura looked at each other.

"Do you think it is a trap?" asked Wura.

"Highly unlikely, they would most probably tell us about what they did to the town, and what exactly they want from this" said Mero as he seemed to be thinking.

"In that case, I am going to see them then" said Wura as both Mero and Nora turned to look at her.

"No my Queen, it is too dangerous" said Mero as Nora nodded, totally agreeing with him.

"Did they not ask to speak to the leader?" asked Wura as she looked at the young knight.

"They did my Queen" said the young knight.

"And who is the leader?" asked Wura as the knight looked at Mero and then at Wura.

"You are my Queen" said the knight as Wura looked at Mero.

"We will both go to see what the East wants" said Wura.

"Alright, but you must agree with the rules of safety my Queen" said Mero.

"Do whatever you want Mero, just know that I am going and that is final, no refusals" said Wura as Mero sighed knowing that this could end up very badly.
