Let this happen

A few weeks later.

Wura was in the library searching for some texts as she found some books that she believed would do as she walked out of the library.

Wura walked through the halls as she passed some guards who greeted her and she waved them off, greeting every single one of them would delay her a lot.

Wura entered into Liam's office as she placed the books on his desk and she walked to the shelf as she looked through the books on there as well until she finally found what she was looking for and she picked out a book from there.

The sky was bright as a little bird flew quickly through the sky, the sound of the turning wheels carriages with galloping horses could be heard as the horses neighed.

The little swallow rushed through the sky as It came faced with the castle as it targeted for an open window and it flew through the window.

"My Queen!! My Queen!!" called Lown as he flew into Liam's office and his sudden entrance startled Wura as she looked at the little bird as she remembered that it was only Lown.

"Oh Lown, you startled me" said Wura as she laughed and she looked at Lown who turned into his true form.

"My Queen, my Queen, something terrible has happened" said Lown in a seriously worried tone as Wura could see that it was serious, which caused the smile on her face to drop.

"What happened?" asked Wura in concern.

"My Queen, fire, fire everywhere, the East has attacked the neighbouring town by the border"

said Lown as he was trying to calm down his quickening breath, he had flew over here as fast as he could.

"What??!" asked Wura as her eyes went wide and she closed the book in her hands, letting Lown's words sink in.

"Yes my Queen" said Lown as he nodded.

"How do you know?" asked Wura as she tried to calm herself down.

"My Queen I have been flying over the Kingdom like you asked me to, and on my way back I decided to use the long way back to the Castle, and then I saw it…" said Lown.

"The smoke filled the sky and the fire was everywhere, the entire town was set ablaze I could hear screams as the East terrorized the people in the town" said Lown as Wura could not bear to hear such news like this, she started to feel lightheaded.

"My Queen, are you alright??" asked Lown as he could see that Wura was not taking the news well at all.

"I am fine Lown just… just shocked" said Wura as she needed to sit down.

Wura walked to the couch as she sat down, she needed to calm down right now, she felt so bad, so bad.

"My Queen, you do not look alright, you look pale" said Lown in worried as Wura gestured that she give him a minute.

"But how could this happen?? I… Mero sent knights to that town in particular, anticipating that the East would want to strike by the border first" said Wura.

"My Queen, I saw no knights, the smoke was very thick that I could not go in alone, if things became that bad, then it means that the knights were probably outnumbered and killed" said Lown as Wura felt a sinking feeling in her stomach.

She was sure that there were many people injured, many houses and homes destroyed, many lives… lost, she could not bear the thought of it.

She knew that they were in the midst of a war, but the East had not made a move, and neither had they until now.

It was now that Wura was understanding the meaning of the word war, this was truly war, she could not bear this, she could not think about the lives lost.

"My Queen, I can see that this is too much for you" said Lown as his voice snapped Wura out of her thoughts as she looked at him.

"It truly is, but my main concern are the people of that town, I can only imagine how scared they feel" said Wura as she could not imagine what she would do if she did not have Lown who was faithful to her, she would have only heard about this horrific news several days later.

"I fear for them too my Queen, the East might take them as captives" said Lown as Wura felt her heart break as the mention of the word captives.

"Lown I need you to go and find Mero now, he went to the forest to train with the knights, find him and tell him to come here right away" said Wura as she had no time to waste.

"Yes my Queen" said Lown as he turned into a swallow and he flew out the window as Wura sighed.

Lown flew out the window but instead of going to the forest he flew around the castle and entered into another room through the open window.

"Nora, Nora" called Lown as Nora was cleaning Liam's room as she heard Lown's voice and she looked at the window.

"Lown?" asked Nora in confusion as Lown nodded.

"Nora, her Majesty needs you, she had just heard terrible news, please go to her" said Lown.

"Okay" said Nora as she did not waste time as she rushed out the room as Lown flew out the window into the forest.

Nora knocked on the door to Liam's office as she heard no reply at all, but she was sure that Wura was here, so she opened the door only to find Wura sitting on the couch lost in her thoughts.

"My Queen, what happened?" asked Nora as Wura looked at her and she looked like she was about to cry.

"Oh Nora, it is horrible, terrible" said Wura as Nora hugged her.

"My Queen, calm down, what happened?" asked Nora as Wura was breathing heavily trying to stop her tears.

"One of the towns by the Wyverdanian border with the East has been set on fire" said Wura as Nora's eyes went wide.

"Oh my…" she said as she did not know what to say.

"Yes Nora, and there might be people injured, deaths and captives, I cannot take this Nora, I cannot"

said Wura as she breathed heavily.

"My Queen breathe, breathe, please breathe" said Nora as Wura nodded and she broke their hug.

"My Queen everything will be alright" said Nora as Wura nodded, even though she had a feeling that things would only get worse from now on.

"Mero, I want relief to be sent to that town as quick as possible, no not as quick, I want relief to be sent by noon" said Wura seriously as she looked at Mero and paced up and down in his office.

"Yes my Queen, I will send the knights now" said Mero as he nodded.

"I also want the captives, if any to be rescued" said Wura.

"My Queen, that would be difficult, we… we would have to enter into the camp of the East to rescue them" said Mero as Nora looked at him and shook her head, that was not what Wura wanted to hear.

"I do not want to hear that Mero, I do not want to, I want those innocent people rescued" said Wura as Mero sighed.

"Alright my Queen, I will send Zuph" said Mero.

"Can he go alone?" asked Nora as Mero looked at her and Wura looked at her as well.

"I agree with Nora, he cannot go alone" said Wura.

"He, Zechariah and Elihu will go" said Mero.

"Better" said Wura.

"Mero have we received any letters or anything from the east telling us what they have done?" asked Wura as she could not take this at all, it felt like her heart was breaking every time she thought about the sorrow that her people were going through right now.

"None my Queen, if anything they are still at the town as we speak" said Mero as Wura sighed and Nora poured her a glass of water as Wura refused to take it as Nora put it down.

"Mero what do we do?" asked Wura as she looked at Mero.

"My Queen, what do you want to do?" asked Mero.

"I want us to fight back, they started it, and I draw the line at harming innocent people" said Wura.

"I wanted to avoid a full scale war that involved lives, but now, they started it first, and we need to return the blow" said Wura.

"What would you like me do?" asked Mero.

"Set up camp in the valley, because we are going to fight back, that is what Liam would do" said Wura.

"As you wish my Queen" said Mero as he nodded and he walked out of Liam's office.

Nora looked at Wura and then at Mero who had already left.

"Please excuse me my Queen" said Nora as she quickly rushed after Mero.
