Call me by my name

Wura took a deep breath internally once Mero finally let go of her after making sure that she was standing steady on her feet, Mero removed the candlestick from her hand and placed it on the rack on the wall.

And here she went again, feeling strange emotions and feelings whenever he was near her, this needed to stop, she was honestly tired of this.

"Are you alright my Queen?" asked Mero as he frowned, noticing her sudden coldness once she was on her feet, she seemed like she was going through a lot, which he would understand.

"I am... *sigh*, fine Mero, just fine" replied Wura, there was no way she could talk to him about what was going on with her, it would only make her seem unstable and weird, and she was sure he would not understand and he would find it odd, since he definitely did not feel the same.

"Are you sure my Queen? You look like you have a lot on your mind?" asked Mero.

"I do Mero, and I thought I told you to call me Wura?" asked Wura as she frowned at him and changed the subject to something that she was more comfortable with.

"My Queen, really?" asked Mero as he did not like that she was trying to avoid his question.

"Yes really, if you cannot just do the one thing that I want you to do, then do not think that you are in any place to ask me questions that I will answer" said Wura as she crossed her hands in front of her chest and narrowed her eyes at him.

He could be so annoying sometimes, she only asked him one thing, one thing that was not hard at all, just call her by her name, and yet he turned it into an extremely big deal for no reason at all.

"I think this is just you trying to change the subject of our conversation" said Mero.

"No this is just you turning one simple request into a hard one" said Wura.

"Is there something wrong with calling my name? It is very simple Wura, you make it seem as if, if you dare utter my name your tongue would burn off" said Wura as Mero could not hold himself from laughing, only she would make such a comparison.

"That is not true at all my Queen" said Mero as Wura groaned in annoyance, she hated how adamant and stubborn he was on the wrong things.

"Oh yes it is, you make it seem like my name is...I just don't know why you make such a big deal out of saying my name" said Wura.

"It is not that my Queen, I respect you, and your title must be used in reverence to you" said Mero as he explained gently.

"That may be true, only for strangers, and are you a stranger?" asked Wura as Mero did not need to answer that question.

"Of course you are not, we have been through a lot together Mero, it is actually irritating that you want to keep a facade of respect when it is totally unnecessary, I do not deem it disrespectful if you call me by my name" said Wura as she frowned and Mero kept silent, not liking how actually upset she was getting by this little conversation.

"I am sorry, I did not know that it upset you so much, please forgive me Wura" said Mero as Wura was about to hit him, expecting him to call her 'my Queen' but he did not, he called her by her name.

"Oh what a very, very, very lucky man you are Mero, a lucky man indeed" said Wura as she laughed and shook her head, he really caught her off guard here.

"Thank you, so I have been told" said Mero as he laughed and they both looked at each other and laughed as Wura shook her head and Mero cleared his throat.

"So what is it that you came for in the library Wura?" asked Mero as Wura remembered that she was in the library.

"Ahh right... I wanted to read a book" said Wura as she cleared her throat and walked to one of the shelves, picked up a book and sat down on couch as Mero walked to her.

"Mind if I join you?" he asked as he smiled.

"Is that even a question Mero? You are already here, you might as well have a seat" said Wura as Mero smiled and sat down across her as Wura opened the book in the silence and began to read until Mero interrupted her.

"So why exactly are you here Wura?" asked Mero as Wura looked up at him and sighed, closing the book.

"I could not sleep, so I decided to take another late night walk around the Castle, and before you scold me, no I did not forget that I only just recovered, I was going to be very careful, I did not expect to meet you in the halls, you are very annoying Mero, you know that" said Wura as Mero chuckled lightly.

"So I have been told by you countless times" said Mero as he laughed.

"It is the truth though, what are the odds that you happened to be on your way the exact same time that I was on mine?" asked Wura as she scoffed.

"Well it is so that you do not hurt yourself again" said Mero as Wura scoffed.

"There is something else bothering you though Wura... what is it?" asked Mero as all he wanted to do was try to help her in anyway he could, after all, she had been through a lot, she deserved a break for once.

"Oh Mero, there are... *sigh*, a lot of things actually" said Wura as she sighed.

"You can share with me, maybe I will be able to help" said Mero sincerely as his words caused Wura to smile.

"That is really sweet of you Mero, but I doubt you would be able to help with some of them... you are the cause of most of them..." said Wura but she kept that last part to herself.

"You never know until you try" said Mero as he smiled and Wura smiled.

"What is making you so sad?" asked Mero.

"Well for one, my Liam is not here with me... and it is tough" said Wura as she sighed.

"I can imagine, we all miss Liam... and I can only imagine what you are going through as his wife" said Mero as Wura sighed.

"You do not even know the half of it..." said Wura as she sighed.

"But that is not the only thing is it?" asked Mero as Wura shook her head, feeling like she could tell him anything in the moment.

"What else is bothering you? You can tell me, I can be of assistance. Is it something official, or personal?" asked Mero sincerely as Wura looked at him.

"Mero I... the thing is ever since..." said Wura as she took a pause before she said anything else.

Mero's sincereness and gentleness almost made her want to confess that she was feeling strange emotions for him, but she did not dare do that, she was comfortable with Mero, and she did not want to ruin the relationship they had.

"It is really nothing Mero, I honestly just miss my parents, my uncle and aunt, and my lovely cousin" said Wura as she smiled and Mero smiled.

"Maybe you should invite them over, it would make you feel better" said Mero.

"Oh Mero, I do not want to worry them, they are currently under protection, it is best that way..." said Wura as she sighed.

"Mero, I really appreciate you and the kind of relationship we have, thank you for always being there, for always being supportive, I really admire and appreciate you, I hope you know that, even though I do not say it often" said Wura.

"You do not need to tell me Wura, I know, and I admire you a great deal as well..." said Mero as he smiled.

"Liam... he asked me to take care of you, and that is what I will do till he returns..." said Mero as Wura smiled.

"You are a true friend Mero... a true friend" she said as she smiled and looked down, no wonder Liam trusted Mero so much, he was a very trustworthy person.

Wura yawned, suddenly feeling sleepy, as if the cloth of sleeplessness was removed from her.

"Are you tired?" asked Mero as Wura nodded.

"It is late Mero, and I am tired now, I will go back to my room, goodnight" said Wura as she stood up and yawned again before smiling.

"Goodnight Wura" said Mero as he smiled and Wura left the library, it seemed that she only needed a sincere talk with a true friend to make her feel better.
