Leave

Mero looked at Wura, he could tell that she just felt overwhelmed by everything that had happened, and that was why he wanted Wura to take a break and leave everything behind for a while, so she could clear her head and return back with a fresh mind.

She needed to have a change in scenery and focus on something else for a change and Mero knew that she was really passionate on showing her support to this affected by this whole thing.

"I do not think that we need to worry about Olamide now" said Mero as Wura looked at him in surprise and she blinked, wondering if she had truly heard him correctly.

"We do not??" asked Wura as she resembled a child who was unsure of the instructions of her parents.

"We do not" replied Mero as he nodded and Wura sighed in confusion.

"Are you sure about that Mero?" asked Wura.

"Because to be honest I do not think that it is a good idea for us to leave, Mero I honestly do not know why you think it is alright for us to leave just like that" said Wura as she knew that she would never be allowed to go anywhere out of the camp alone, and the person who would follow her would be Mero, it was just too risky in her eyes.

"We made a deal earlier did we not? You will eat and I will let you go on the relief mission, and I was serious" said Mero.

"I really appreciate that Mero, but think of how serious this is, Olamide comes across as a very unstable man to me, I do not want to take any chances I have a bad feeling about our last encounter and I really do not feel at ease leaving the camp for any reason" said Wura as she expressed her concerns, she was hoping Mero would understand. Leaving was not on her mind right now.

It might have been before, but not now, in fact she was even starting to sound more like Mero than herself, which brought the question, why did Mero not seem to think that this was as serious as it truly was?

"Mero why are you overlooking how dangerous Olamide is so suddenly?" asked Wura.

"You want me to be honest Wura?" asked Mero as Wura nodded.

"Well I know men like Olamide, they talk quite a lot, they threaten to destroy and lay waste, but in reality they have no intention of doing so" said Mero as he decided to give her a logical reason rather than one backed by the fact that he wanted her to relax for a change.

"How come?" asked Wura as she was trying to see what Mero was aiming at.

"Did he not say that Wyverdale apparently claimed land that belongs to the East?" asked Mero as Wura nodded.

"And his only condition for ending this his war is either for us to surrender or give to him the land he claims belongs to the East" said Mero.

"Such a man would definitely not lay waste to his aim for starting this war in the first place" said Mero.

"He wants our land, which means that he will not harm the land he wants to claim as his own" said Mero.

"If you really think about it, he has not really done anything to harm anyone as of late, except for setting the towns by the border on fire in order to chase the people who live there away" said Mero as Wura could not believe that everything Mero was saying made absolute sense, why did she never think of it like that?

"You are right Mero... he does want our land, and destroying the land would harm his cause would it not?" asked Wura as Mero nodded.

"And now that he knows where your stance is on the matter, he will definitely have to rethink his strategy" said Mero.

"I am sure that he has no intention of doing anything dangerous soon" said Mero.

"So instead of suffering yourself by thinking of his next move, you should try to enjoy the peace and silence for now" said Mero as he could still see that Wura was reluctant to change her mind.

"Wura you have been asking me for a long time that you want to be more involved with the orders you give, you want to show the people that you really do care for their loss and sorrow, now is the chance you have to do what you have been longing for" said Mero as Wura sighed, he was right, and she hated that he was right.

The truth was that she was truly scared, the way that things were happening, it was just too much.

"Mero I know what you are saying is true but..." said Wura as her voice trailed off.

"But nothing Wura, since when would you allow someone like Olamide trouble your life and affect the things that you love to do?" asked Mero.

"Think about it Wura, you might not have another chance like this, and I know that you will regret it" said Mero as Wura looked at him, he knew her well, just thinking about it, she knew that she would truly regret it if she did not go.

"You really want me to go do you not?" asked Wura.

"It is not about what I want Wura, it is about what you want, and I know that you want to do this, so do not let anyone stop you" said Mero as Wura sighed.

"You are very right Mero... *sigh* You really are... and you know me well" said Wura as she smiled and Mero could feel a bit of hope that he had managed to convince Wura.

"So does that mean that you agree to go?" asked Mero as Wura could not help but chuckle, on a normal day Mero would not even want her to go anywhere, much more less encourage her to go, she found his gesture sweet that he actually cared.

"Well how can I refuse when you have convinced me so well?" asked Wura as she chuckled lightly and Mero smiled softly he liked seeing her happy.

"I do not think that I was that convincing though" replied Mero.

"Mhmm right... well you were, and yes, you are right, this is something that I have been begging you to do for such a long time, and you finally agreed to it. If I do not go, I will truly regret it for such a long time, so yes, I am going" said Wura as she smiled and nodded her head.

"Thank you Wura" said Mero as he smiled.

"What are you thanking me for Mero? I should be the one thanking you... thank you for being someone I can count on, truly Mero, I appreciate you, and I know I say it severally, but it really is the truth" said Wura as she smiled brightly at Mero as he found himself lost for a moment, clearing his throat sending him back to the present.

"In that case Wura, we will leave early tomorrow morning, you have time to arrange everything and pack the things you want to bring with you" said Mero as Wura smiled.

"Oh that is no problem Mero, I do not have a lot of things to bring, we are not going to sightsee we are going to bring relief and aid to those in need" said Wura as she smiled.

"That is true, well it is getting late now Wura, I have to take my leave, take care, and please remember that we need to leave before dawn" said Mero as that was for the best, he doubted anyone would follow them if they left before the sun rose.

"Alright thank you Mero, I will and take care as well" said Wura as she smiled and Mero stood up.

"And you do not have to worry about that, I will be awake and ready before dawn" said Wura as she smiled and all Mero did was nod in acknowledgement to her statement before he turned around and walked out of her office.

Wura smiled as she sighed, it seemed that every day had its own surprise. It was funny how unsatisfied they were, when everything was quiet and they did not hear from Olamide they were scared and uneasy they wanted to know what he was up to, and now that he had called for a meeting and told them his real aim they were now even more worried.

Wura chuckled to herself as she shook her head. Mero was right, she needed to have a change of scenery for once and do something else that would take her mind off all this nonsense.

"Finally I get what I want, but at the wrong time... well I cannot complain..." said Wura to herself with a sigh as she stood up and decided to go to her room, she had to wake up very early tomorrow.
