Disturbing me

Wura yawned as she blinked and opened her eyes. She did not know what time it was, or how long she had slept for, but she was certain that she was tired of sleeping, if she slept any more, she would be unable to actually go to sleep at the right time.

Wura rubbed her eyes as she stared at the top of the tent that was above her, she was certainly tired of sleeping, but she had nowhere else to be, and nothing else to do. Her mind was still a little bit hazy, and for some reason she could feel a headache coming on.

Wura decided to get out of bed in order to pour herself a glass of water. She took the glass jug on the table as well a glass cup and she poured the water.

As she was drinking the water, Wura suddenly began to hear what sounded like the giggles of little children... several of them. Wura frowned as she was doubting whether she was hearing properly or not.

Or had her early rest caused her to start hearing things? While Wura was contemplating whether the sounds were real or not, the giggles suddenly got louder and more prolonged, this time followed with some light chatting or tiny little voices.

It was then that Wura was sure she was not hearing things... there were children outside her tent, and judging from how loud the sounds were, they had to be extremely close to her.

Wura set the glass cup with some water left in it on the table as she walked to the entrance of her tent and drew back the flaps at the opening as she poked her head out and she was extremely surprised and delighted to see the little guests that she was not even aware of.

"Emond, Lorian, what a surprise to see you here." said Wura as she smiled, recognition filled her eyes as the two siblings turned back when they heard their names being called.

Lorian, being her shy self immediately gasped and dusted her dirty muddy hands as Emond on the other hand had a happy smile on his face.

"My Queen... did we wake you up? We are sorry for disturbing you." said Lorian immediately as she bowed her head and Wura smiled.

"No, you did not wake me up, and you are not disturbing me at all, quite far from it." replied Wura as she noticed the several other children around them, staring at her as if she was not real.

"You see, I told you that we knew the Queen." declared Emond triumphantly as he spoke to the gaping children behind them causing Wura to be amused, this was the boy who barely spoke, and yet here he was declaring triumphantly that they knew her.

Wura chuckled internally, maybe the last time they met he was all tired from the activities of the day, now, he seemed much more energetic and vibrant.

"I am glad that we did not disturb you my Queen, greetings." said Lorian as she smiled and gave a little curtsey as Wura came out of her tent to meet them.

"Greetings." she replied.

"How are you children?" asked Wura as she smiled and waved at the children who in turned looked more shocked and a little bit startled as the boys bowed and the girls gave a little curstey.

"Greetings your Majesty." they said in a chorus as Wura thought that was the most adorable thing she had seen in a long while.

"Oh you do not have to be so formal, if you want, you can even call me Wura, I don't mind." said Wura as she heard chorused gasps that made her chuckle, she could see the shock on their little faces, it was extremely adorable.

"You see, I told you the Queen was very nice." said Emond as Wura was surprised once more, he was extremely chatty today.

"That's enough Emond, I think they get your point already." said Lorian as she looked at her little brother, it was embarrassing hearing him say such things so loud, he made it sound as if they were betting on whether they truly knew the Queen or not.

"Oh that's completely fine Lorian, I do not mind at all, I am actually happy to hear you speak Emond." said Wura as she smiled and Emond smiled at her while the rest of the children still appeared to be enchanted with her presence.

"So what are you doing here children?" asked Wura as she finally asked the question that was on her mind.

"Playing." replied one girl with pigtails as she was twirling a flower in her hand.

"Oh really now?" asked Wura in surprise as all the children nodded.

"But you usually play in the valley close to here, and not in this area." said Wura as she smiled.

"Yes we do my Queen, but we heard the good news that you had not yet left, and we wanted to see you again." said Lorian.

"We would have come to see you yesterday, but our mother told us not to disturb you because you were busy yesterday." said Lorian as Wura smiled.

"Aww that is so sweet of all of you." said Wura as she smiled and bent down to pat their heads as they giggled.

"I am so glad that you came to see me, I am very happy to see all of you." said Wura as she smiled.

"And we as well my Queen." said Lorian as she smiled.

Wura looked around as she narrowed her eyes, she could not see a guard anywhere, this was odd, Mero told her that a guard would be stationed outside her tent and yet she could not see him anywhere.

Wura looked back at the children, they seemed to have been here for a long while, they might have had an idea of where the guard that was supposed to be watching her had gone.

"Children, would you happen to know where the guard is? There was supposed to be a guard out here, but I cannot see him anywhere." said Wura worryingly.

"Oh yes, we did see the guard my Queen, he was right there." said Lorian as she pointed.

"Oh really? Then where is he now?" asked Wura.

"He left." said Emond as Wura looked at him and smiled.

"Yes, he left, he said that he needed to go and quickly ease himself, but he was so pressed that he did not have the strength to go and inform another guard to Alver said he would go and tell another guard to come over here while he went away." said Lorian as Wura chuckled a little bit.

"Ahh I see, that makes a lot of sense and that also explains why Alver is not here." said Wura as she laughed, poor guard, he should have had a partner so he would not have to allow a child go call another guard in order to help him.

"How long has Alver been gone now?" asked Wura.

"I do not know my Queen, maybe ten minutes now." said Lorian as the other children started to run around.

"I am back!!!" said Alver proudly as he came back with a guard following him.

"Greetings my Queen." said the guard as he bowed, acknowledging her presence.

"Greetings." she replied with a smile as he walked to his post in order to do his duty.

"Ahhh my Queen, you are awake, good noon, it is a pleasure to see you again." said Alver as he swiftly walked to Wura and took her hand and kissed the back of her hand as that elicited a giggle from Wura.

"What a little charmer you are." said Wura as she smiled and Alver smiled smugly as Lorian his sister glared at him.

"Thank you my Queen, anything to put a smile on your beautiful face." said Alver again as this time Wura bent down and placed a kiss on his little cheek.

"Thank you, that is for being very sweet." said Wura as Alver was shocked, he could feel himself turning red, he had certainly not expected that at all.

Among those shocked was Lorian, she was extremely unhappy about this.

"My Queen, you should not encourage him, he will only continue even more!" said Lorian as she was unhappy about this, very, very unhappy.

How come Alver could be so disrespectful and rude and get away with it, meanwhile she was told to be less formal and she could barely look Wura directly in the eye.

"Take that Lorian." said Alver proudly as he stuck out his tongue at his sister as Lorian was on the verge of crying.

"Alright, stop it Alver, do not be mean to your sister." said Wura as Alver smiled sheepishly at her, he had forgotten that she was still here, or else he would have saved his remark for later.
