Chapter 2
All I could see was darkness. I can't fathom what's inside. It's also doesn't helps that the whole house is quiet. The door is open a bit, the light that was beside the rocking chair isn't enough to give light to the inside of the house.
"Is anyone there?. Anyone here?. Yuhoo!"I shouted, only answered back by my echo.
Rolling my eyes, I step aside and tried to take a look at the windows. I started at the left part, it's near and its lighted. Unlike the other part, the right part of the house that the last window is the only window that has
light.
"Mr. Shadow, where are you?. Come on, show up, show yourself."I whispered to myself while tiptoeing and finding holes in the window. The window looks ancient. It's a big wood with a design of small squares, it's also in a sliding way of opening and closing.
But no avail. I can't see the insides. But I am sure that the light in this room where the window is located is turned on.
"Mr. Shaaadow!."I said then go back to the door. I have a feeling that he goes inside because he suddenly dissappear in that place then the door opened when he's no there anymore, so it means he goes inside.
A creak stop me from further walking. The wind already stops when I step in the porch. The house shielded me from the wind.
My eyes automatically find the rocking chair that sways a little. The light beside it, dim a little more.
Chills are crawling to me again. There is no way that the chair will move in it's own. The wind can't even go here.
But a sudden realization hit me. Maybe that the man a while ago moved that. Maybe I just didn't notice him. Maybe.
Then, I noticed the door was now widely open. I squinted my eyes to see what's inside but the darkness is really thick.
I decided to enter the house. I feel nothing as of the moment or maybe I'm just became numb.
I hold the doorway and inhaled deeply before I first step inside my right foot.
The place is so dark but I know it, inside of me that it's right to walk straight eventhough I really don't see a thing. It was like walking while your eyes is closed.
I blink and it makes me more anxious to see just black. It kinda confuse me if I'm just closing my eyes at all or it's really black.
I blink again. I think it's better to close my eyes, the darkness that I see when I close my eyes, it's the kind of darkness that is pleasant to the eyes not like when I open my eyes, I saw lines of white but kinda haze.
I moved my hand sideways. It bumped to a wall. Now I'm sure it's a hallway I'm walking in.
I continue walking only to bumped to something. It's still black, I can't see anything. I'm just following my instincts that saying continue to walk.
I moved my hands to feel and touch that something that I bumped. I start in the higher part and it felt like a wood, it has edges, maybe a frame. My hand goes down and something hit my hand that made me pulled it away.
With my other hand, I tried to distinguish what did I hit but I can't find anything now.
Few times of touching the thing that I bumped to be sure and it's really a wall. It's just strange that I felt fur a while ago in the upper left side of it.
I moved my hand sideways and my left hand touched a wall. A dead end, so I turned to my right, maybe it's a hallway again.
I walked and the darkness is slowly disappearing that I was able to see where I am walking. It's a hallway with three door on the left and one door on the right.
I turn my heel to the first door. I turned the knob and open the door only to see a room with a high round table and two chairs. The table has a vase with a flower but with only one petal. It's dark but the light from the outside illuminate the whole room.
I wasn't able to scan it thoroughly because the edges of the room is too dark, the light from outside can't reach it.
I decided to shut the door and moved to the second one. Same with the first room, this second room has light coming from the outside. The only difference is that this room has bed. I can't fully see the color of the sheets, but I know it's in the dark color side.
Nothing interesting because only a bed was placed in the middle of it, it was in the center, no furnitures beside it, so I moved to the last door.
I opened it and the light comes out and brighten up the hallway. The chandelier in the center ceiling shines that I realize I miss seeing this brightness. The room is well lighted.
I saw a sofa on the side with a coffee table. The table has a wine glass with an unfinished wine. But cobwebs is placed in the table, no movements from it.
Whoever left it here, surely it was from a long time.
But I was abled to smell the wine like it was freshly opened.
I left the door on the third room opened so that it can give light to the hallway that I'll walk through. Then, O walk towards the only door on the other side.
"What would I see here?"I mumbled and open the door. Wishing to myself to see the man a while ago.
A loud thud of the door was heard. The light also disappered.
I immediately enter the door that was the only door in this wall. It is different to the hallways that I passed by.
It has lights but the light is red. There is paintings that is hanged in the wall. But only the half part of the painting is visible, the bottom part, the other half is not because the darkness covers it. It is obvious that the painting is a human, I just can't see their faces.
The hallway leads to a door.
I opened the door only to see a large space. It has several chairs, it is placed in a elevated manner, and a stage was infront, with a wood in it's back. In each side was a door. It looks like a room.
"Why this house has this kind of a room?"I ask to myself and scan the place. The chairs has dust and cobwebs is everywhere.
A loud growl was heard. I heard steps. And it's coming at my place.
My stare turn at the two door alternate. Where would I go?!.
I need to think fast because the steps are nearing at my place. Eventhough it's fading, which just means they know whoever was that, that someone was here.
Left or right?
Left?
Right?
Arrg! Niña, think. It's just that you have a half chance of surviving this. No, I only have a thirty percent of surviving this.
Stay where I am, the left door or the right door?.
I hardly closed my eyes and when I open it. I directly sprint at the left door.
I walked through it, closed it and leaned my back on the door.
