Chapter 7

I am awake and staring at the dark sky.

It's been a full minute of me gazing at the lonely sky. People surrounds me and a familiar house is in near sight.

I have this feeling of familiarity to the facade of the house. That I can already pictured out the insides of it.

I have this notion of knowing the house, like I entered it. It's been minutes since I suddenly come here and I've been staring at the sky absentmindedly.

People around me doesn't chatter with each other. We're just standing and waiting for something to happen.

I don't know how it happens that suddenly there are people besides me.

And I saw a silhouette coming towards me. Flashes of memory came back.

I enter the house.

The first time and getting back here in the outside. The second time with a child then back here in the outside again.

The last time I enter the house, I saw the way out.

I immediately turn my head when I remember the child. But no matter how hard I find her. She's not here, not a single child is with the people beside me.

"Where are you?"I mumbled and gazed back at the silhouette that was coming at me but I can't see it anymore.

Right, I still need to find that guy. I already tried asking people but they won't say anything to me, maybe that guy will help me, surely he knows something. Especially that he's like a mushroom appearing only when he wants.

The cold wind brush my hair and my white dress. It dances as the wind make it's way.

My gaze stop at the woman beside me. She has a long hair, and white long dress that hides her feet. It doesn't move.

I can't help but to step backwards, as I continue to felt the movements of my clothes.

It was dancing at the winds music but her dress, her hair doesn't. It stay stilled.

I almost run when her stare directed towards me.

Goosebumps fell over my body that I can't help but to ran elsewhere. Away from her. I continue getting away that I didn't notice I was being pushed by the people inside the house.

They're all walking towards the house and didn't mind when they bump me. I don't have time to stop them because of the force, they made me follow their trail.

As we enter, a hallway welcomed us. It has well lighted. There are some picture frames that was hanged in the wall.

A picture of a little girl, that was holding a teddy bear. It's kinda familiar.

My feet automatically stop as I hold my head. I know that girl, that picture.

Where?.

But no matter, how hard I tried to remember, it's not clear where I saw that.

I lifted my gaze and wonder where are the people that pushed me here and they were standing and staring at the three way hall.

A dark hallway in the middle. The left hallway that has light, and the right corner, that has light but it seems low and far to us.

As I remember, the house change again.

If I will connect all the parts of the house that I've saw when I entered, maybe, I can make and use something to figure where is that room.

Or maybe, every room has a way of getting at the room where the exit is placed.

But, the first time I've entered here, I was back at the front for no apparent reason. The second time, I was forcedly to chose that door and it directed to that room.

Did I need someone to point that door?. Or I need to test all the door?.

I can't risk it, there's a chance that one of the door, or maybe room that I'll enter will get me back at the front again.

"Hi"a woman said, she's wearing a nurse cloth.

I nodded to her and continue thinking what door I need to choose. Left, middle or right.

"You know, my Lola once said that in the darkness you'll found your answer. I don't understand because it wasn't a nice play to stay but maybe someday I can understand"my head immediately turn at her. She was not staring at me. I was abled to look at her and saw a scar on her neck. A slit mark on her neck, enough to know that it was once slash.

"I don't know why I'm saying this to you. And why all of people, you, that was in that state. It's funny right"she asked and shifted her gazed at me.

Her eye color is so black, that it's so hard to have a stare. It's so deep and full of emotion.

But it all vanished when she smiled at me. I blink, and her image dissappear from my sight.

Darkness, huh?.

Many chose the left hallway where it was illuminated by light and they're abled to see floor and door of the rooms.

On the right side, there were some that slowly walking their way towards it. The light comes from the end of the hallway and it's not enough to lighten the place and path where they will go towards that light.

But no one chose the middle, where everything is dark. Darker than the night.

I slowly lift my feet and walk towards the middle.

It's now or not. I'll follow that woman, if ever I'm wrong, surely I will just be back at the front door again where the rocking chair and lamp was placed.

I was halted when I remember two porch. One has rocking chair and one doesn't.

Did I imagine?.

Nonetheless, I continue walking towards the middle. No one was able to notice that I'm bound to go at the middle.

Darkness, he once said to me that darkness fills a hole the bright can't enter. And in the bottom of that, a reason for everything and why it keeps on growing.

I held my chest, it was aching. I heard beeping all around but when I turn my gaze at everyone. Looks like I'm the only one who hears that sound.

Like earlier with the wind and now with that sound.

I suddenly felt a rush to go in the middle hallway.

The darkness of the hallway is almost embracing me. I take a last glimpse at the left hallway where I can see them clearly because of the light.

The light?!. It moves.

The door open automatically and I hear voices, they were shouting. When I turn my gaze at the people that chose the left hallway. They we're running towards me.

No, they we're escaping.

I lifted my gaze at their back and saw a giant creature that has a light in his mouth and it was inhaling all the people that choose that path.

Fear succumbs me that I didn't mind the darkness and walk through it.

I can't see anything. Felt like de ja vu.

"Hey, open your eyes"someone said with a sound of snap. I open my eyes that I don't felt closed earlier.

There infront of me, an old lady. Wearing a dress that has flowers in it.

I scanned the place and it was the room where the exit is.

"You're not supposed to be here, no matter how hard I tried you may your way out of my claw or let's just say someone is going his best. Be happy"a whisper to the wind and a door where a bit of light entered. It opened.

I can't turn my body to see people that was with me. I can't turn my body to give a last glance to the people that was first come in this room and point the way out.

My body is moving on it's own. And it's moving out of the house.

On it's own, it walked towards the light. It's warm and felt freedom.

In my peripheral, I saw a silhouette. That silhouette, it was the man that I saw.

"Please, come and see me"I mouthed which sure he doesn't hear because my body is projected to go just forward.

I saw light.
