Hunt's purpose of coming home early was to talk about the news that has been released yesterday about him getting married. It was not his intention to reveal such news in terms of his personal life. Otherwise, the media would be crazy to flood him just to get a topic for the daily entertainment news. Also, he doesn't want to burden Krizzia. It must be better to keep her hidden than letting the world know who his wife is.
After all, temporary things will soon to last.
"Take Krizzia with you upstairs, Hunt. She looked devastated so let her take a rest. We will just call you when dinner is ready." His mom said as it was busy in the kitchen together with the maids.
"Thank you Mrs Reid for the hospitality." Krizzia uttered and Mrs Reid returned her gratitude with a sweet smile.
"It should be me who's grateful to you, Krizzia. Unknowingly, you granted my wish. I can't wait for you to be my daughter-in-law. I'm sure, we will be the best duo mother and daughter in the future." The excitement of Reid's Madam was pure and overwhelming.
Even Krizzia didn't expect things to happen so fast and smoothly. Neither finding herself in the house of Reid as the family's heir fiancé.
How ironic.
Hunt took her to his room, while he was in the bathroom, she busied herself by hugging the pillow while also leaning on the headboard of the bed sideways because her feet are on the ground.
"Aren't you going to sleep? Aren't you tired?" He asked while staring at her with worry. His hair is dripping wet and his masculine body was being showcased in her vision.
She gulped as she saw how defined his chiseled breads are. Hunt saw her reaction, his lips curve in a sly grin. He turned his back to her to go to his closet to change. "I guess, my body isn't that bad. I made you look at it for a long time."
Her eyes grew wider, "Uh... I-I didn't mean it!" She reasoned out. He just let out a light chuckle.
"Ah-huh?"
Her face flashed like a red tomato, "I-It's true!"
Hunt was amused as he put a shirt on, before coming out of the closet. "Alright. Reason accepted." Then he sat in front of her. "How do I look?" He's like asking her how ugly he becomes.
His face was swollen and even had a cute black eye in his left eye. Like a definite panda eye and every time he furrowed his brows looked closely like an angry bird. "Looking ugly." She said lazily paired with a vicious smile. "I'm not sorry. You deserve it."
He scoffed at her. "I know." In a low voice, he admits.
She gives him a wary look, "Then, why are you looking at me like that?" Hunt was not pouting his lips as if he sought mercy from her.
"Aren't you going to do something?" He questioned. Her lips twitched in an uncomfortable smirk.
"Something, what?" She pretended as if she was not aware of his reason to approach her. He even showed his clean face with several bruises.
He sighed and went off the bed. Going back to the bathroom. In a split second, he came back with a kit in hand. "Treat me."
Her brow knitted to each other, "Can't you treat yourself? Your mother told me to come with you for a rest, not to be your maid." In his perspective, Krizzia is still annoyed by him.
His shoulders fell, sooner he left his room silently. Krizzia doesn't care though, but she felt a little uneasy. She said the right one, right? Well, she shouldn't care. She's supposed to be mad at him not pity him.
---
Krizzia stayed for the whole day in Reid's mansion until dinner. She's sitting beside home while Mrs Reid and Brent are in front of them. Mr Reid was in the master's seat at the edge of dining.
"Hunt, may we know how you meet Krizzia?" Krizzia was drinking water when Mrs Reid asked which makes her almost splash the water in her mouth.
Hunt brushed her back to feel good, "Mom, why are you asking that? You're making Krizzia, uncomfortable." He hissed at his mother.
His mom frowned. "Why? Did I say something wrong?"
Mr Reid coughed to get their attention, "Let it pass for now, Honey. Let's just talk about their wedding." Then he looked at his son, "When do you plan your wedding?"
Krizzia just calmed down but got instantly in the daze. Hunt glances at her, "When do you like to marry me?"
A leer look appears before his eyes, "I know I like you and you like me too, Hunt. But that matter should be decided by you." She smiled, teasing him. "I'm fine whenever you like."
If she was teasing him, then he took her left hand that was holding a fork and was not hesitant to kiss her there. "My fiance said that it's fine for her whenever you please, dad. I'll let you guys decide." Her face heated at the anticipation. This man is sassy as far as she thought.
Mrs Reid was flustered with Hunt and Krizzia's intimacy. Even Brent who was silent got a mysterious smile on his lips. "That'll be good! I want it by next week. Before that, we want to meet her family for formalities. This subject must be discussed with them for it was not about you but also about her."
All of a sudden, Krizzia was unprepared. She doesn't know how to react rather than keeping her mouth shut.
In the first place, she doesn't want her parents to know about this matter. It's temporary and will last after two years. She might disappoint them as well as hate her for being like this. It's a disgrace in her pride but also a disgrace to her parents'morality. They expect her to live happily, and not to live a limitless life.
"I also got the media to publicize the news by tomorrow." His dad informed which shocked him.
"Dad, it wasn't needed to let the public know. This is our matter-" Mr Reid didn't let him finish and spoke across him.
"It's not about you, Hunt. But our family's tradition. A wedding is a special occasion that everyone should know. You are not just a simple person, you should know that everything that tackles you matters. Including us. I'm not asking for your opinion here, I'm your father. I know what's best and what's right. Settling down isn't a simple matter, take that to mind." Dad held out a heavy breath.
"Since when did I care about the public, dad? It's my life!" Hunt couldn't control his temper and talked back.
Mr Reid held his utensils down and it made a sensitive sound along the dining area. "You want our family business in exchange for marriage. Do you take me for a fool, Hunt? You should know that I'm also aware of your reputation, but I'm telling you... I'm not a fool. Not all goes in your compass." The calm and fragile father turned out to be a fearless negotiator. Hunt's jaw clenched. The father and son are glaring at each other. Filling the dining table with a dark moisture of challenge.
"Fine." In the end, he gave up.
Mr Reid took his utensils back, "The wedding will be done legally, and not contracted." Looks like the father was able to smell his son's fragrance behind the rushed announcement.
Krizzia who was silent for a long time shivered. She felt like her blood escaped her body. She might be silent but not deaf. She understood everything she heard between the father and son.
Does it mean, she has to live with Hunt for the rest of her life?
Does it mean, they will be Wed for good and not contracted?
