Chapter twelve

I walked downstairs to have my breakfast in front of Miles, thanks to Leah for letting him stay in the dining.

"Finally," Miles said as I walked down.

"I'm sorry for the delay. My daughter is quite lazy. I'm surprised she still has a job," Leah said to him.

I ignored them and took a seat then I reached out for the bowl of toast bread in front of me. I took two pieces from it. Then I poured myself a glass of milk from the jug in front of me. After that, I munched my meal in silence, watching them discuss. I said nothing to them; and chipped in only when Leah said something embarrassing about me to him.

When I finished eating I put my plate into the dishwasher, and as soon as I washed them, I arranged them on the plate rack.

Miles got up when I returned from the kitchen and made his way outside the house. I was about to leave after collecting my coat from the coat rack beside the door when Leah held my hand.
