Chapter Twenty Seven

I gently opened my window and put my right leg out, then my head and my left leg. I stayed on the roof that extended under my window and surveyed the surrounding, when I was sure no one was around, I jumped down and started walking with my almost broken leg. Where was I going? Lauren's place! I should go over, she will know what to do, and she always had answers to my problems. I stopped the first Uber I saw when I left Flinders, and I asked it to stop me at Bourke Street where Lauren lived.

When the Uber man started moving, I thought about Leah. She would be extremely mad if she found out I left the house. What if something happened to me? Why was I even doing this? I kept questioning myself. We broke up a week ago and he said I shouldn't look for him, yet here I was looking like a stray wild animal that just broke out from the jungle. I looked normal on the outside, but deep down I could feel my self-tearing apart.
