Chapter 3 "One Day On Earth",

Melody ran as fast as she could and she managed to get away from the guards. She couldn't go back to her home because she knew that's the first place the guards would look for her. She knew better then to go to her house. She had been running for almost the whole night and was tired. She ended up at the same place where she and James were yesterday when she told him about her powers. She rested their for a while as the guards were gone by then and fell asleep.

The Next Day:

The sun had rose. The birds were chirping. All the trees were looking beautiful in the bright sunlight. Melody was laying in the grass. She was sleeping until she woke up from the sounds of the birds. She stood up for a second and just as she gained back her consciousness from the sleep, she heard a voice behind her.

"You impressed me last night".

Melody got scared of the voice and fastly turned over to see who it was. It was the Dark Witch.

Melody had a sigh of relief knowing it was not the guards.

"You have got to stop doing that", Melody said to the Witch.

"Doing what?", The witch asked.

"Scaring me, why can't you just appear like a normal person without all the portals", Melody said.

"Well in case you haven't noticed, right now I'm pretty wanted by the guards and the king so Its probably best for me to see things from a distance and keep a low profile, but then again now so are you, you're even more wanted by the king then I am, you put on quite a show last night", The Witch said.

Melody realized what happened last night.

"Oh my god, The guards, the king, they all know about me now", Melody realized.

"Oh not just them, everyone knows about you now, the whole kingdom is talking about you, your in every newspaper, every channel, your famous", The witch said while using her magic to make a newspaper appear in Melody's hands.

"SPOTTED LAST NIGHT, A GIRL WITH POWERS", was the biggest heading on it.

"No, no, no this cant be happening", Melody said.

"Oh, it's happening", The Witch said.

"No, this is exactly what I was afraid of, I don't want to run from the guards and the king my entire life, I just want to live my life peacefully", Melody said.

"You know… maybe together we can do something about this", The Witch suggested.

"What do you mean?", Melody asked.

"I mean, I can help you", the Witch replied.

"How can you possibly help me now? I don't think even magic can save me from this", Melody said.

"don't be so sure, I'm much more powerful then you think, I can make everyone forget what they saw last night", the witch said.

"You mean like time travel or something?"

"No, not time travel, But I can alter everyone's memories, there's a spell for that"

"Really?"

"Yes, this way they will remember last night however they will forget ever seeing a girl with powers"

"But how? And I thought one didn't need spells to do magic"

"Oh yes, normally our magic doesn't require spells, but normally our magic is simpler, But throughout time, great wizards and witches have used their knowledge and created new powers in the form of spells"

"So will you really use this spell and help me?"

"Yes"

"What's in it for you?"

"It is ridiculous that the king has banned magic from our kingdom, and once I help you get what you need maybe we can work together again and do something about the king"

"What can I do?"

"For now, you don't need to worry about that, but you'll prove valuable to me, so do you want to take this deal or not?"

Melody was thinking for a moment and wasn't sure what to say.

"Look, the king hasn't banned magic because of Dark magic. Cause the truth is, magic isn't bad, he has banned it because he has personal wizards and Manipants that work for him, just like how you saw last night. They alter with people's thoughts and make people obey the king, the king isn't suppose to be in power, he just makes everyone think he is, trust me this will help the whole kingdom", the witch explained.

Melody took a sigh and agreed to the deal.

"Perfect", the witch said.

"So, can you do the spell now?"

"Actually, I don't know the spell, however I know of a book that does, if you help me get that book then I can help you", the witch said.

"Okay, where is it?", Melody asked.

"In another planet", The Witch said.

Melody gave a shocking expression.

"Don't worry, I can make you a portal to it", The Witch said.

"But why can't you just go and get it?", Melody asked.

"Because the book won't show itself to me. You see, the book is hidden in a secret library, the only one who can find it is who it belongs to", The Witch said.

"And you think it belongs to me?", Melody said.

"Yes, the author dedicated it to you", The witch said.

"What? Who's the author and why would someone dedicate me a book, I don't understand", Melody asked.

"Right now all you need to know is that you're the only one who can find the book so are you ready to go look for it or not?", The Witch said.

"Okay, but give me one hour and I'll meet you back here, then we can go", Melody said.

"Okay, as you wish, but I'll only be here to make a portal for you, i won't be joining in your little adventure. You're the one who needs the book so you're going to get it, no one else", The Witch said.

"Okay", Melody said.

Melody went outside of James's house. She looked around for a while for guards but didn't find any. However she didn't want to go inside the house and face James's family. James lived in the upper bedroom. Melody threw a rock at his window, hoping that he would see it and then see her. James was sitting on this bed, thinking about Melody when suddenly the rock Melody threw at the window, broke the window. James startled and went to the window to see who threw it, that's when he saw Melody calling out to him. He was extremely relieved to see her and rushed towards her.

He went outside his house and met with Melody in the woods.

He hugged Melody and said "Are you okay, we were all so worried about you".

"Yes, I'm okay, but I need your help", Melody said.

James looked at Melody with an expression that said he'd be willing to help any way he can. He could see how important it was just by seeing Melody's expressions.

After a while..

Melody was standing alone at the same place where Dark witch is suppose to meet her, between the woods. At the same place as before.

Suddenly James came there too, with Daphne besides him.

Daphne saw Melody and went to give her a hug. They all were worried about her since last night.

"James told me everything, are you sure you want to do this? Going to another planet, sounds a bit risky", Daphne said.

"Yes, I have to, it's the only way I can make things normal again, but you guys don't have to come if you don't want to", Melody said.

"No, I've already told you, wherever you go, we go", James said. He and Daphne were prepared to go with her.

All of a sudden, a portal appeared and the dark witch came.

"So.. are you ready now?", the witch asked melody.

"yes, we are ready", Melody said while looking at Daphne and James.

The witch opened a portal.

Then she gave Melody an object which looked like a Rubik cube. Except it was not. The dark witch told Melody that this is a transportation device. "Use it to come back to our world, all you have to do is think of where you want to be and the cube will create a portal for you", The Witch explained. Melody took the cube.

"So what planet are we going to?", James asked.

"Its called Earth", the witch said before Melody, James and Daphne went inside the portal to Earth..

They were much nervous as they were about to travel through the galaxy and go from their planet "Lendia" to another planet "Earth".

The three went through the portal. It was a weird feeling when going through the portal. It felt like they were surrounded by magic for a moment, until they saw a bright light which was the other end of the portal. They went closer to it and were now standing on the ground of Earth.

They had traveled to another planet in a second. The Earth was not at all what they expected it to be. They landed in a Forest. They heard some noises coming from one direction so they followed it.

It led them to a town.

The place looked a lot like their own planet except the technology wasn't as updated. People were still using cars which in Lendia are considered "Ancient Cars", as they had wheels and ran on the road instead of floating above the road like in Lendia. The cars had been updated in Lendia and now they didn't need wheels to run on the road. All they needed was air, they floated above the road like a rocket. But not too high from the road.

"I remember reading about this once in our class, Earth is actually very similar to our planet. Except magic had never existed here. It's completely based on science", James said.

"Well if our king is in power for a little more while, pretty sure magic will cease to exist in our world too", Daphne said.

"Come on, we have to hurry up and find the Library", Melody said.

The town they landed in was called "EscapesVillie". As it said so in a cardboard.

"Welcome to EscapesVillie"

They tried searching for a library but there wasn't any. They even asked around a bunch of people but were not able to find any library near the place. After a while it started raining.

"What are we going to do now, there doesn't seem to be a library here", Daphne asked.

Melody was about to answer when they heard a voice from behind.

It was a guy calling out to them.

"Hey guys, come on inside"

He was calling to offer them shelter from the rain. The guy was standing at the front entrance of a Cafeteria. Melody, James and Daphne went to the café to get away from the rain.

The place was filled with people. Probably because of the rain.

"what we're you doing outside?", the boy asked.

"We're not exactly from around here so we got a bit lost", Melody explained.

"Alright, what were you trying to find?", The boy asked.

"we were actually looking for the library, would you happen to know where it is", James asked.

"But there's no library in this town, never has been", The boy replied.

"But someone sort of said that there is one here", James said. As he thought that there must be a library around here somewhere cause the witch created portal to this specific town.

"Well you got the wrong information then, sorry", The boy said.

"Its alright never mind", James said.

"I'm David by the way", The boy introduced himself.

"I'm James and these are my friends Melody and Daphne", James said.

"Nice to meet you", David said.

"yea, you too", Melody replied.

Melody realized that this was no use. There really was no library. Maybe the Witch was just making it all up.

"I guess we should be heading back now", Melody said

Melody was about to leave when David stopped her.

"You guys can't leave in this rain. There's a storm coming, it's not safe to be out there. You can however stay here as long as you want, and If your bored you can go to the basement. Its karaoke night tonight", David said.

They didn't know how to say no or even tell where they were going cause they didn't know themselves so they decided to stay for a while, until the rain stops.

They all went to the basement.

A girl served them some drinks.

James knew that Earth was much different then Lendia so he said to the girl that they didn't have any money to pay for the drinks.

"oh don't worry, they are free for every costumer", The girl said.

Melody knew something about this place wasn't feeling right. She was sensing a lot of magic but couldn't figure out from where.  However she decided to follow her instincts. There was a door in one side of the basement. Melody felt a weird vibe coming from it so she went to see it. James noticed and followed her.

"guys, where are you going?", Daphne asked.

They didn't reply so Daphne followed them too.

"What is it Melody?", James asked

"The library, I think its in this room", Melody said while pointing out to the door.

James opened the door.

However it was not what they were expecting. It was just the kitchen of the café.

David was there too. "Hi guys, is something wrong?", David asked.

They got confused and didn't know what to say.

"No never mind, I was just looking for the bathroom", Daphne said.

"Its on the ground floor, come on I can show you"

"thanks".

Daphne went with David.

Melody closed the door.

Melody could still sense something wrong with the door. Even though they just saw that there was no library behind it. Yet she still seemed to think there was. James was about to go back to their table when he realized Melody was still staring at the door.

"what is it", James asked.

"the witch said that I am the only one who can find the book so maybe..", Melody said while turning the knob to open the door.

Suddenly her plan worked. Instead of the kitchen, the door now opened to a beautiful library.

"…Your the only one who can open the door", David completed Melody's sentence while looking at the library.

"Guess now we know why its called a Secret library", Melody said.

They went inside and closed the door.
