Morality Test 2

Junya knew it was an artificially made simulation but it felt too real. He started to wonder if reality was a dream, but the state of Berger Town quelled his uneasiness.

He acted and started sprinting toward the North Gate, on his way he could see swarms of people running away from the Chaos. He looked ahead and saw more Crazed Armored Knights pouring from the gaping hole that was inside the wall's frame.

"Junya! Where have you been? There's no time to assess just start killing!" Grant Brook, Russel's father shouted. He was missing an arm and wielded his encrypted katana in the other.

The wave of Crazed Armored Knight came rushing toward them. The thud of their footsteps echoed through the ground. Junya was frightened of the scene until a realization swept over him. His blessing. Its effects in this simulation wouldn't harm those watching him on the outside.

It had become easier for him to control his blessing over time. He thanked his lucky stars.

A large Crazed Armoured Knight ran hastily toward him, choosing him as his target. Despite Junya never using a weapon in his life - as far as he was concerned - he still knew the basic movements based on the type of weapon. Working off pure memory functions to wield his blade he sized up his first opponent.

Though his expertise looked bleak he could feel the urge to assassinate growing inside. Junya released 10 slashes in rapid succession. His attacks landed on the Mobs armour thundering with a clanging sound.

Under the barrage of attacks, the Mob came out practically unscathed. His armour protected him completely leaving only a faint blemish. It was one of the most basic stages of Mobs yet known to fight like a maniac.

Almost all Mobs pass through different stages. Crazed Lunatic and Psychotic. Although he only remembered Amus teaching him about Psycho, he imagined the same belonged to this Mob.

He could feel his body move with fluidity in his dodges and precision in his parrying. Even though this was a different reality, it felt gratifying almost, like a wet dream. His blood boiled and he continued exchanging blows with the Crazed Armored Knight.

The initial burst was strong from the Mob, but Junya grew accustomed to it. The intensifying fight made him want to battle more, his mind began to envelop in its treacherous desires, making him smile.

'I can't… I can't lose myself to this feeling inside me, I have to be the change I want to see!'

Junya bit his tongue and battled the ever intense thought, his mind drew clear, he stopped his maniacal assault and started acting with some discretion.

"Russel! Save the civilians! I will hold off a guy for you!" Junya yelled toward his 'partner' and ignore the anger he felt toward him. He knew this meant he had to put his differences aside and fight for the greater good, despite the burning disdain he had for Russel.

Russel nodded leaving Junya to face them both, two on one. With as much speed as he could draw he dodged their blows, simultaneously sending a few of his own. His main objective though was to keep the Knights distracted long enough to maintain time for the civilians to escape.

A sudden change in his scenery was an indicator of his first successful mission. In a blink of an eye, he was placed from one scenario to another.

The scene before him was far more gruesome than the previous, but his ability was much stronger. 'So they can set my strength' he wondered as he looked down upon a small town. It was overrun by countless Mobs, they had already set buildings alight, the warm flame emitting an ominous glow in the sky.

Junya himself was hovering in the sky, surrounded by people he didn't know. Covered in filthy grime and long out of breath were the only things each person shared in common. His weapons rest along his waistband, seemingly weightless against the energy coursing through his veins.

"What are we going to do? We are the only Mobsters left around here. The zombies have already enslaved the centaurs, using them as fodder to lead a false charge in the direction of Brewit City. It'll take the Mobsters there at l e a s t a day to finish before we make it" One woman assessed.

"Not to mention that they are all Lunatic, they are more deadly than you can imagine." Another man added.

They could only gaze down at the barren town below. It's destruction seems more and more inevitable. They would have to act eventually or the invaders would soon reach the location of the evacuated citizens.

"I say we fight them. What sense is there in being called a Mobster if we can't even face a few thousand zombies for the sake of our nation" Junya stated, the certainty in his voice hardly reflecting the indecisiveness in his heart.

The crowd exchanged reassuring glances then nodded. There was no leader, all they could do was stand their ground with one another.

Junya dove down to his point followed suit by another man, exchanging a few words due to the gravity of the situation

Standing in position the group awaited the Mob's arrival.

"Mobster Junya, do you think we will be able to fight them off?" The man queried uncertainly.

"Not if you keep distracting me"

"Mobster Junya, I think you should reconsider your chances and come work for us," The man continued. His voice began to grow distorted by his transmuted body. A large parasite expanded within his brain, overtaking his nervous system.

"Your wife and kids are with us, Just follow me and you can see them again"

A sharp constricting pain wrung out through his chest. His wife and kids were someone he desperately wanted to meet. He had to save them no matter what.

'Did they save these feelings for this reason? Is this why I got over Imani's death in the last trial? Was it because they were saving it for this?'

Junya knew it was all a lie, of course, it was, but the urge to see them was near irresistible.

"Tell me where they are dammit!" Junya lunged towards the thing, grabbing it by its tattered clothing. His anger would spike to levels he didn't see a return from.

"They are at Central Guram city, underground the Kapreek hotel, some of my loyal subordinates are tasked with protecting them," The parasite informed. "You are a man of power. Do the right thing. Right now a bomb siege is being planned, although its strength is not fatal, it'll be a hell of a lot easier for the last of the BMA to make their comeback.

Call them. Tell them you're against the voting. Do this and your family won't be lost. Lost like yours'" The parasite handed him a phone, controlling the man's arm.

*Mobster! What is the situation there like, give us an update on the situation!*!

"Do the right thing, my comrade. Don't let the difference in species be your only reason" The man placed the phone into Junya's hands.

*Hello? Are you still there… Do you have any objections to the plan?*

A decision was due. Junya thought about the life he had with his wife and daughter. All though they weren't real, giggles he never heard before and a smile that could brighten the gloomiest of days shone in his memories. Nights will his gorgeous wife that felt like heaven welled in his chest

The feeling overwhelmed his heart, whereas anger tilted the scales of his sanity.

One side was his wife and kids and the feeling they carried and on the other hand, the reality he lived in was fake but his feeling was real.

"Dammit!" Junya cursed releasing an incredible amount of pressure onto the parasite mutant.

"Your….Killi..ng… Inte...nt Is trul...y" The parasite could barely speak from the chilling and suffocating blood lust he felt from Junya. The burst of killing intent appeared in form of a red tint that ravaged the man's sanity.

Now instead of Junya holding himself back trying not to kill the man himself, he was getting slaughtered mentally and these images flashed through the parasite's head while his body was being crushed by the sudden pressure.

"Fine! Then you will never see them again!" The parasite man shouted and a loud explosion expanded within a 100-metre radius making the world go black for Junya.

Only when he was taken out of the world did he realize. 'Fuck, I failed'
