Heartbroken Gorgon

"That would be me. Is it going to be a problem?"

Malice against malice. It was evident in Ellamir's stare that the moment Zisha was mentioned, so too did the less than favorable interaction she had with the Gorgon.

"A major one. You have no idea how much our Guild Members wanted your head for what you did to Zisha."

Yazmin's hand clenched. Her mana was emptied, while the fatigue she sustained from the fight meant that it would be ill-advised to take another battle.

"Then I dare you to do something, I'm right here in front of you. Go on." Ellamir grinned.

Suddenly, Althea got in between them. Ellamir was one of their own, while she had considered Yazmin to be her unexpected but trusty companion.

"Yazmin, I thought we were over this. Let this go, please don't force me to take a side." Althea pleaded.

"Are you telling you're going to choose her over me!? After we..." Yazmin caught herself. She almost exposed the driving force behind her decision to leave Althea behind.

But it was too late.

The Gorgon's outburst made everything click into place for Althea. Yazmin storming off on her own, her anger at her arrival, and now, this rage with Althea taking her guild member's side.

"I'm sorry, Yazmin, but I just don't see you that way." Althea tried to break it as gently as she could.

The night they shared wasn't something Althea would call as a moment of weakness. It was something she wanted, something she needed at that time. But had she known that Yazmin was someone who would give more meaning to a one-night stand, Althea might have reconsidered.

The Gorgon was at a loss for words. Even she wasn't so sure of the emotions she harbored for the Elarian. All that Yazmin was sure of, was it was strong enough to make her fave Vicious all on her own. Her once budding courage turned into a trove of pain.

Althea's words stung. How could she say something like that after already sleeping with Yazmin?

"How dare you assume that my feelings for you are like that!?"

Ellamir smirked, "Oh, are you two having a lover's spat?"

"No we're not!" / "Absolutely not!"

The two denied the allegation in unison, making Ellamir even more suspicious.

The two are definitely having a lover's quarrel. It's not Ellamir's business anymore. Her business involves getting home as soon as possible.

"You can fight all you want as soon as we're out of here. I have family waiting for me back home." Ellamir assumed her drider form. The colossal drider approached the spiked wall. "Hop on if you want to leave this putrid pit."

Even Yazmin put aside her enmity in exchange for being able to leave the pit littered with insect corpses.

Two women on each arms, a centaur awkwardly positioned himself on the back while a wood elf clung underneath the spider's abdomen. Being able to effortlessly carry all of them -even the centaur - was a testament to the drider armor's strength.

All eight of Ellamir's legs crushed the spikes on the wall with each stride, embedding itself through sheer force as she slowly made her way up.

Once up top, they all prepared to snoop around Melsa's laboratory for clues about what she had been up to. All but one as Yazmin hurried to leave. Forget Ellamir, all the Gorgon wanted to do right now was distance herself from Althea. The hurt budding from her chest was something a veteran assassin should never experience.

"Yazmin, wait!" Althea tried to stop the Gorgon from leaving. But even fatigue had claimed her, activating her Aeon and fighting an army of insects had took its toll.

"Shut it! I don't want to speak to you ever again!"

Without even turning back, Yazmin slithered as fast as she could, until her figure had finally disappeared.

"Were you and that Gorgon a thing?" Marionne's curiousity prompted him to ask.

"It thought we were friends, but nothing more than that."

Obviously Althea wasn't going to disclose her private affairs. Ergo, she will keep it to herself how she got dual-dicked down by the Gorgon.

"Uh huh, I thought we were going to have another 'Yulia' situation on our hands." Telmano chimed in.

"Can it, Telmano. Would you two just focus on finding any clues? We still have to find out what Melsa was up to."

Yulia understood her needs. Unlike Yazmin, the tiefling was discreet and held no attachments. No one in the Guild knows they are banging behind the scenes. It was a damn shame that they had to stop their trysts when Yulia got together with that receptionist, Myreanne. And just when Althea thought she could make another move on the sinful paladin, a succubus came in and swept Yulia away.

Having no action for quite a long time was what made Althea make such a daring proposal for the Gorgon.

As they made their way up the dimly lit stairs back into the mansion, the trio heard their temporary party member use what appeared to be a communication device in the form of a ring.

"You are not going to believe who I just fought today."

"Who? Tell me." A woman's voice with total clarity came from the said ring. It was as if the speaker was there in their company.

"Vicious."

"That immortal werewolf!? Ellamir, are you okay!?" Antani's worry was evident in her tone.

"She ran with her tail behind her back the moment I arrived! A wise choice since all her lives won't help her if she ever fought me again!"

Antani had no intention on calling Ellamir out on her bragging lest she wanted another fight on their hands. Ellamir was safe and sound, that was the most important part of Ellamir's update.

"I'm just glad that you're safe. Ellani is already missing you, aren't you little one?"

The happy cooing of their daughter made it through Ellamir's communication ring.

"Only Ellani?" Ellamir coyly asked.

"Fine, I'll say it since you badly want me to. I miss you too, love. Now get your ass home."

With that, Antani shut off the mana, ending their communication

"That's a pretty nifty device. Where did you receive it from?" Marionne questioned.

"Augustia's workshop. It's damn handy since it works better than a sending spell. She said she's going to launch it in public soon, but I bet she'd take orders if you go there and mention my name."

"Really?" Telmano's tone was curious. Would the dwarf artificer really? The dark elf's words sounded like nothing but airs. The mind that makes Telmano think that the dwarf might just kick them out if they did what Ellamir was telling them.

It wouldn't hurt to try, since his battle axe had been chipped, it needed to be repaired soon. The chitin of those beetle warriors are truly harder than your average platemail. Whatever Melsa was doing to those Beetle Warriors made them an even more pain in the ass to deal with. It was a secret that they would uncover soon as the alchemist had no time to dispatch her ledgers and notes.

Either it was no importance of their real plans were hidden elsewhere.
