Wasp Trouble

"Hold on tight, princess. We wouldn't you falling off now." Alara teased.

How Maessha's arms wrapped around Alara's rock-hard abs made her heart pulse with desire. Their shape, it was as if they were chiseled to perfection. This Amazoness must never know how Maessha adorned her muscles, or else the shame might cause her to fall from the back of the horse!

"Just shut up and let us head to forest!"

Thus, the two headed to the forest to rid the villagers of their insect infestation. After it, they would use the same horse to travel straight to Elaria.

Half an hour later...

As the sunlight became dimmed out by the tall trees, the duo are now on alert as the buzzing of wings echoed. The dreaded giant hornets started to fly towards them.

"Do not stop, I can pick them off from here, keep going."

By Maessha's command, Alara simply held the reins and pushed towards the sky full of wasps, their gargantuan stingers as large as an average dagger. One sting from them and their enhanced venom brought about they their increase in size would be enough to induce death.

"Then show me what you got, Maessha."

Keeping both her legs steady, Maessha freed both her arms from her embrace. Presenting both palms to the side, as if to offer the wasps their demise, dark flames erupted from her hands. Flames imbibed with the destructive malice of her armor.

Maessha swung the dark fireball in her right to the wasps above, slamming into one of the gargantuan insects, the fireball exploded upon impact. Legions of charred insects fell to ground. Next, she hurled the one on her left towards the next batch of flying menaces. Another explosion shook the skies followed by large, smoking insects dropping like flies.

"Well done. Your magic, it's impressive." Alara praised. For a warrior who would've waited for these flying creatures to close in before eliminating them, witnessing a sorcerer lay waste to a sky full of giant wasps with fancy explosions made Maessha earn Alara's genuine admiration.

Although Maessha appreciated the compliment, she boasted, "Naturally, magic has been my forte since I was a child."

An army of wasps once again swarmed the skies, their number higher than the last.

"That's a lot of wasps, it appears we are getting closer to the hive. Take care of them for me, will you?" A smile appeared on Alara's lips as she continued leading their horse into the sea of wasps. Unlike Ellamir, this dark-elf's confidence in herself was not overbearing. Temporary partnership it might be, Alara was surprised at how well she is getting along with the dark elf.

"Like I said, leave them to me."

Dark flames flared on both of Maessha's palms, if the insects were ready for another round of slaughter, so was she.

Leaving countless wasp corpses behind their wake, they finally arrived at the massive nest. How massive, you ask? The gargantuan home for the insects stood taller than the trees, what's more, a monolith of a nest spanning multiple trees wide.

With Maessha's mana spent, she does not have enough in here to decimate the hive. What about her companion, then?

"Let's end this so we can head straight to Elaria by tomorrow afternoon."

Getting off the horse, Alara was determined to dispose of the insect's home before the queen sent out another swarm.

"Do you have a way to dispose of that nest?"

Alara chuckled at Maessha's question. She hunted hydras for sport, taking care of this ginormous hive was child's play.

"What do you think, princess?"

"I think you are bluffing. Feel free to show it to me if I am wrong."

"A bluff!? Hah, you're funny. I like you more than Ellamir already."

Eager to showcase her might, Alara wasted no time in gripping her spear upside down, raising it above her head. Her arm taut for an impressive spear-throwing stance. Her muscles all stretched in unison, ensuring a devastating throw. Her natural affinity with ice vortexed at the tip of her spear, encapsulating Vanagrad's unforgiving tundra.

Alara gasped at the thick concentration of Mana in Alara's spear! It is magic, yes, but it was too brutish to be even called a spell, it was but a simple manifestation of the frost-giant's deadly might! An elemental command given to her heritage, allowing Alara to bend ice to her will!

With a throw that ripped through air, Alara's spear launched straight into the hive. As soon as the spear penetrated its walls, an explosion of ice decimated from the inside, turning the forest's climate into Vanagrad for a single second before the aftermath of the destruction was made clear. The nest and rest of the wasps were battered by the merciless cold, chunks of what was once their nests littered all around.

At the center of the Hive's wreckage was the wasp queen. Thrice the size of her already humongous offspring, her tenacity made clear as she limped, her wings shook off all the ice so she could leave and propagate once more.

The Queen flew, her myriad vision locked onto the perpetrators of her hive's destruction. She had it all, a forest all for herself and a large army. Now she must start all over again. But not until she had her vengeance.

Blitzing though the air, the Queen wasp picked the dark elf before taking to the skies. Less bulky, Maessha was the obvious target.

"Maessha!" Alara shouted, running to keep the Queen in her sights!

This dark elf in her clutches shall be the sustenance for her young, kickstarting her new hive!

"Alara, catch me!"

"What!? I can't hear you from up there!"

Her shadow armor unable to activate with her mana spent, resulting in instant death if she ever fell from such a height. Well then, it would seem like Maessha would to put all her faith in Alara and gamble.

Just because Maessha was a mage it does not mean she had no physical training. Far outclassed by Ellamir and Zorrla, Maessha's strength was still above average.

Maessha punched the queen in her eyeballs so hard, it squished her eyes and splattered its brain.

The Queen's lifecycle was ended by the dark elf's fist. No matter who the queen picked among the two to exact her revenge upon, the queen was doomed.

Her heart caving in as Maessha waded in the air, her surrounding was a blur as she plummeted into her doom.

Maessha closed her eyes.

The hard impact was reduced into a soft landing. Maessha could feel it, she was tumbling! She is alive, her gamble paid off!

The moment her lids opened, Maessha found herself wrapped in the safe but chilling embrace of the blue giantess. Their gazes meet, making Maessha's heart pound not from the adrenaline of almost falling to her death, but from Alara's dashing grin.

"You can get off me now."

"Oh, I uh...I apologize." Maessha stood, dusting herself from the fall.

"It's gonna be a long night, not that there's anything that can pose a problem to us but would you like to spend the night camping together? We can head to Elaria early in the morning."

Alara smiled, "Sure."
