Even Through Eternity

SHANG HOLDINGS INC. Bldg.

Soon after the aircraft safely lands on the building, Violet is lounging comfortably in her dad's office.

She was resting on the accent chair when the head secretary came in, and in her hands was a tray with two glass bottles of water. As she approached Violet, she inquired her if she needed anything.

"I'm good, Mrs. Demirci," Violet answered politely to the middle-aged woman.

Mrs. Demirci has been working for her father since she was five. The lady was still in the company until now, and she heard she plans to retire soon.

"How are you, Mrs. Demirci?"

The woman smiled and replied politely, "I'm doing well, Miss Violet. It's rare for me not to see your mom around. But I was happy to have you today."

Violet smiled at the woman who became her mom's good friend in the past decades she worked at the company. "I will be around for the time being, so you will often see me from now on."

"Ah! It's always good to have you with us!" Her expression was sincere.

Mrs. Demirci sees it as not a problem because all her bosses' children were kind people, especially their third Madame.

Nikki is down-to-earth, and she gets along well with all the employees. Since her husband became the President of their Mainland brand office, the company has run smoothly.

"If you need anything, just give me a ring, Miss Violet."

Violet nodded and smiled. "I will, Mrs. Demirci. Thank you."

The middle-aged woman slightly bowed before she headed to the door and left.

Violet picked up the bottled water and drank a little while her eyes traveled throughout the office until her gaze landed on her dad, who was still having a sweet conversation with her mom. The two had just separated for a couple of hours, but they acted as if they had been apart for a year.

Contemplating something, Violet was in a trance. Her parents' relationship is indeed incredible.

It's been twenty-five years already, but they are still in love with each other. Their relationship can be an example that there is forever, and the kind of love they have is something even through eternity, the afterlife.

Violet is not someone who gets envious of other people in a relationship or having a lover… but sometimes, her parents' marriage is something she can feel jealous of.

'What if I should marry one day?' Sometimes, this is a question she throws at herself.

She may like someone now, and yes, she admitted that. But deep down, she knows she is still confused if her feelings for this person are love because she is more likely looking for the best man to compete with Allen. And so, she felt more fixated on getting close to that man and showing to…

'Ah! I should not think about that guy!' Violet snapped back to her senses and scolded herself. Lately, she has noticed that she is obsessed with infuriating Allen. 'Probably, I am out of my mind to invest so much time thinking about him!'

Violet shook her head to set aside her thoughts about Allen. After gathering her thoughts in one place, she averted her gaze from her dad and shifted to the shelves on the wall behind the office table.

Staring at the photo frames her dad displayed, she did not have to guess that soon another portrait would add up after her little sister came out into this world. And because their photos filled the office, no one could enter inside except for their closest family friends like Allen's parents and other old couples such as the Lawrences or the Kangs.

"Honey?"

Violet shuddered when someone tapped on her shoulder. She looked up and blinked, gazing at the man who called her out. "Dad?"

"I've been calling you out, but you seemed lost in thoughts. Is there a problem?"

"Oh, nothing, dad! I'm just looking at our family photos." Violet hurried to reply.

Theo smiled. He looked at the shelves and shifted his gaze to each photo frame. After a brief silence, "Care to share your thoughts?"

"I'm just thinking about my little sister. After mom gives birth to her, we must have a new family picture to put in there."

Theo was delighted to hear this from his daughter. He was happy that Violet had accepted the news without a problem.

"By the way, honey. Where is your friend now?"

"Ah…" she reasoned out hurriedly. "Victor was caught up with the traffic jam outside the walls, dad. So it will take a while for him to arrive in the company..."

"Humm… I see."

After the storm hit the country hard, countless residents from the countryside traveled to Mainland City and temporarily sought homes with their relatives or looked for permanent residence. Many moved in to stay safe when another powerful storm hit the country.

Suddenly, the sales in the real estate business rose to ten percent, and consultants affirmed it would climb in a few days. Among the companies that benefited was the YKG Builders, who owned most of the skyscrapers in the city, whereas the Shangs had a significant investment in them.

"Then he would be stuck in the car for a few hours. How about this? I will move one of my meetings to the afternoon so that I get him over lunch."

Hearing that, Violet brightens her gloomy face. She worried Victor would be too late and leave a wrong first impression on her dad. Well, it's not like the meeting is to introduce him as her boyfriend. 'It's only for an interview!'

Even so, Violet could not stop worrying. She wants her old man to trust Victor, as she trusted the guy. Thus, she's eager to make an excellent first meeting impression.

Victor knew more of her secrets than anyone else in this world. Not only that, she felt safe around him, maybe because she spent many days in the woods with Victor after she was able to escape from her kidnappers.

"Okay, dad! I'll book a room for three people in Kyla's restaurant." She said with glee. In the next minute, Violet busied herself with contacting her dear friend to book a private room for lunch later, and she didn't see when her dad lifted his left brow.

"How about your brothers? Wouldn't you invite them as well?" Theo emphasizes the word brothers. He knew very well that his daughter wanted to make a formal introduction, but eventually, it would also be best if the boys met Victor.

Without looking at her dad, she replied, "Um, dad. I will go out tonight with them. So, they'll meet Victor later."

Theo stifles his ridiculed laugh. 'I knew it.'

Even if his daughter would not admit it, somehow, he has a feeling that she likes this Victor guy. But according to her, Victor has a partner, so he is unsure if his intuition is correct.

"Alright. Don't you have an appointment with Randy this morning?" Theo reminded his daughter.

"Yes, dad." Violet nodded and replied. She glanced at her bracelet to look at the time. "I should head to Crow Tech now."

"Roland is already arranging the car for you," Theo informed his daughter.

"Then I shall go now!" She said with a wide smile, stood up from the accent chair, and picked up her bag from the table.

Before she could take one step toward the door, her dad was already waiting and opened the door for her, then walked with her to the elevator.

Looking at that handsome middle-aged man, she could not help but smile after it warmed her heart. Her dad is always a gentleman. For the twenty-five years that he has been married to his wife, who is her mom, it was a habit that he would open every door for her.

"Thanks, dad!" Violet placed a loud kiss on her dad's cheek before she stepped inside the box.

"Take care, honey. See you at lunch."

"Yep! See you later!"

And because she rode the private elevator, she met no one from the company but the head secretary. When the elevator arrives in the parking lot, Roland is already waiting beside the black SUV, ready to open the door for her.

"Thank you, Uncle Roland," said Violet after she was settled inside the car.

"Don't mention it, missy. Your dad wants me to ensure your safety."

Even though no one is crazy enough to attack Shang family members inside the walls, it's easy for her enemies to send a group of droids or an assassin cyborg.

Allen immediately picked up the call when his assistant contacted him.

"How is it?" he asked.

"Boss…"

Allen raised a brow when his assistant spoke in a low voice. "What happened?"

"Boss, Miss Shang is fuming in anger!"

Upon hearing that, Allen lifted the corner of his mouth. He told his assistant, "Let her be. Just do what I instructed you."

Laney rendered his silence as he twitched his mouth. Inwardly, he muttered, 'Why does he love to torture me such as assigning me to a tough job!?'
