"You can bring your friends along. I'm sure I can handle the three of you." The moment the words left her mouth, Alita squirmed inside of her. How was she able to keep a straight face while spouting such embarrassing nonsense?Maybe it was the anger that was pushing her because she knew she would do anything to get these men to follow her.

"What the..." Asher started, but couldn't get the perfect word to complete it. "Looks sure can be deceiving. At first glance, and with that kind of outfit, I wouldn't peg her to be that type. Too bad she's gonna end up as their meal." Asher commented when he heard what Alita said.

Axel suddenly became angry. His anger was not even directed at the woman but himself. Why was he getting riled up for something that does not concern him? The woman is nothing to him and it shouldn't matter to him who she decides to spend her time with or what happens to her. He decided to stay away from her business while minding his.

His resolve, however, shattered when he saw Alita step out of the club with the three men. He became restless. "She is going to get herself killed." He muttered to himself.

"You know her?" Asher asked with a disbelieving tone. Though the muttering was low, he had managed to catch what Axel said.

Instead of answering, Axel gulped down his remaining drink and stood up. "Don't wait up. I'll meet you at the hotel." He said to Asher before he walked out of the club.

Outside, Axel looked around, but he couldn't find her or the three men. It was not up to a minute after they left that he followed and he was sure he didn't hear the sound of any car leaving the premise. It was almost 2 am, and everywhere was quiet. This is where his super hearing would be helpful. He listened carefully, hoping to catch even a slight sound that will lead him to her location.

He didn't have to wait too long as a few moments later, he heard sounds of struggle. Without waiting for another second, he followed the sound to a dark alley behind the club, moving as fast as he could.

When he got to the alley, his eyes almost bulged out of their socket in shock. He froze on the spot as his eyes settled on the scene in front of him. The three men lay on the ground, unmoving, lifeless while the woman stood staring down at them.

Alita's face held no emotion. No pain, remorse, or even fear. Her face was blank. She bent down and wiped her hand on the shirt of the man nearest to her. "How does it feel to be on the receiving end huh? To be given a taste of your own medicine?" She mumbled the question.

A smile slowly curved on her lips as she continued her monologue. "It must feel good right? No need to thank me. I'm glad I could help." The smile faded after a bit to be replaced by a frown as she suddenly felt someone was watching her.

She turned her head in the direction where Axel stood, but she saw no one. Standing up, she gave one last look to the men on the ground before she ran with super speed away from the alley.

Axel couldn't make sense of what was happening before him. How the hell did a human manage to kill three vampires? And she didn't look like she struggled to do it. If not for the blood on her hand and the ones that splattered on her sky blue shirt, he wouldn't believe she could kill anyone.

When he noticed that she might turn toward where he stood, he made himself invisible. While he was still making sense of the words she was saying, she delivered another shock by running at a speed impossible for humans to achieve.

A confused frown made an appearance on his face and without thinking further, he followed her, still in his invisible form.

Alita stopped beside a shrub located opposite her apartment complex. She looked around, making sure there was no one outside before she started to walk toward the complex.

Halfway there, she stopped walking. The feeling that she was being watched came over her again, making her turn around. Her eyes scanned the place for something or someone, but she saw nothing. Deciding to ignore it, she continued into the building.

Axel followed her until she stood in front of her door. When she opened the door, he skillfully slipped past her into the house, before she came in and locked the door. The lights came on, showcasing her neatly arranged, simply decorated living room.

But Axel wasn't here for sightseeing. He came to get answers.

"How did you do that?" He spoke, startling Alita. He was now in his visible form.

Alita froze when she heard a voice behind her. Turning around, she saw the same vampire who she had avoided staring at earlier, leaning on the wall inside her house. Her eyes stretched wide. How did he get into her house?

The next second, Alita attacked him. She was fast but he was faster so he easily avoided the attack. But Alita didn't stop even for a second. She went after him continuously and determinedly until she was able to punch him in the face.

When she went for another punch, Axel caught her hand. His expression was one of intrigue as he was still wondering how all of this was possible. Her punch was unexpectedly strong enough to leave a cut on the inside of his cheek. It's been a long time since he tasted his own blood.

He quickly turned her around so her hand was twisted behind her and her back was on his chest. His other hand moved to wrap around her shoulder, keeping her in place. Alita froze for a moment when her mind registered their current position.

"No need to be violent. I only wanted to talk." Axel added fire by whispering the words close to her ears.

Alita burned red, both from anger and embarrassment. She moved her free hand to grab his hand which was wrapped around her shoulder. It didn't take three seconds for Axel to release her from his hold as his face contorted in pain. He suddenly felt as if his blood was boiling inside his body.

Swiftly turning around, Alita pushed him to the wall. One of her hands wrapped around his neck and the other placed on his chest.

Axel couldn't move. A painful groan erupted from him because his heart was squeezing painfully in his chest and it was hard to breathe. Blood dripped down one side of his lips and he closed his eyes while clenching his jaws hard.

He had never felt pain like this in his entire life. What was this woman doing to him? He grabbed both of her hands, intending to push her off him. It didn't work. Her hold was strong and the excruciating pain coursing through his body didn't help. When he opened his eyes, he saw the look of surprise and confusion register on her face.

Alita felt something was off with this vampire, but she didn't know what it was. Every other vampire she had killed didn't last up to ten seconds before their heart burst inside their chest, ending their miserable life. Also, their eyes usually turn red a few seconds before they die.

But her hand had been on this one for a little longer than thirty seconds still he was not showing any sign of dying. She could see he was in pain, but apart from the blood slowly trailing down his lips, there was no other sign of damage. To worsen her confusion, when he opened his eyes, they were bright gold instead of red.

"Is this how you pay back someone who saved your life? By killing him?" Axel managed to get the words out of his mouth.
