Chapter 26 - End of quest?

The map Bree was pointing had monsters with poorer vision, which meant they were less agressive in night. So, the leader or elite of PK player group would be grinding there, hoping to get to next level. Saachi's idea was simple in theory. They would increase aggro of these monsters and let them kill the players.

Royo : " And how can we be sure that these monsters will start chasing?"

Saachi : " That's why you should read more books and learn even more. There is a type of a plant called Hilgree vernon. It's flowers, famously known as Vernon Purple bliss are used in potions. The thing is, the flower is very delicate. If you even hold it wrong, it bruises and secrets pungent odour. It will definitely punish these monsters' noses. If it is mixed with Shizi mushroom, the plan will be fool proof.....blah...blah....blah"

Basically, they will cover the pungent odour thingy inside anaesthetic like thing. So, one of them could go near monster region and burst open the gift. Then....well there would be horde of monsters on one side and PK players on guard on other side. All one could do is run or die trying.

So which rat will tie the bell on cat? Who will run? Being enlightened people, they did not have games like rock paper scissors or eenie meanie....they checked the agility attributes. Higher the agility, faster the running rate.

First was Niyam, then Kylie, Bree and Royo. The party members' mouth was hung open. This mage had good attack, so high intelligence; high MP level as seen from the amount of MP potions he had chugged, so high wisdom; high HP too as he had boasted before and confirmed while grinding, so high constitution; now, he even has high agility?

How much attribute points did he have?

Were they playing same game?

....

....

....

They would try this method. Saachi would be main player, Kylie a second lead. Remaining two would try to kill remaining people in fields or near revival point, based on Bree's discretion.

And what do you know, the plan sort of worked. Saachi's plans are never flawless, they need timely modifications, most often, on the spot modifications. If modifications worked, the plans would have 100% success rate, however bizzare the plan may turn out to be.

The antics of the night were immortalised by Kylie. It would haunt Saachi for long....long...time. Screaming like baboon, making mating noises....those PK players had gotten angry first and started chasing him even before monsters.

The leader or the elite was killed accidentally. But because his name was so red, his penalty was very high, he directly dropped one level. Bree was first to notice the drastic fall. (A/N - Want to know how, let me know. I solemnly swear I will disclose the secret). So again, repeat the same plan. If it works, why break your brain to search for another way?

The aggro aggregator was different as monsters were different, but basic plan was same. This time, some PK players starting killing monsters to increase their levels but others still chased this party.

The party rejoined to kill at faster rate. Players, monsters.... doesn't matter. If it moves, kill.

Saachi went into zone. And ....there was nothing more. The fields got cleared. Bree and Kylie started checking for revival points and system updates. Saachi and Kylie were left for grunt work. The monster drops were more important than players' drops.

system update, some time later.-

Remaining PK players -2.

The leader and his loyal, slippery sidekick.

Now the flights were getting closer to village.

Range of movement was getting restricted. But....the map size meant two players could run around without getting caught for few hours. PK 1 and PK 2 had enough skills to do that. Opposite side had only 4 players.(We shall not consider those hiding inside learning areas or trial rooms.)

Now this was turning more and more like mind games. Can you guess what the other party is thinking? Did he guess what you have thought? Guess...counterguess....Only Bree was doing actual work. Other three turned out to be weak, so they followed orders. Harass one if found and wait for reinforcement. One of them will come to you but other two are still trying to tail the other PK player.

Half an hour of chase. Two deaths. Now only leader is remaining. And he was not a bandit or thief or assassin. He turned out to be a tank. Would you believe that? PK group leader was a tank, known as shield or as bulky or a big bull.

Now that he had to care only about himself and that too for maximum 3 system updates, he changed his method of playing again.

---*------

Few moments can stretch to feel like few hours or days. And, then there are few moments which flee faster than light.

Somewhere, in a thriving city, inside a luxurious mansion, a person in thirties came out of gaming pod. The towel used to wipe off the sweat and discard costed over 10,000 bucks. In other terms, this player was rich, very rich, very very rich.

A sycophant was lying in wait next to the pod, the one who handed the towel.

" Master, Master....what did you win? What was reward for the quest?"

The crystal glass holding sparkling, natural, fortified, thirst quenching, fine tasted water was crushed.

And the silence....was deafening.
