Chapter 41 - The difficult step

" You know, I recently had a talk with high level GM. I had some doubts. Basically this is just a game. We may have entered it to make money, connections, have power or just have fun, at the end of the day, this is just game.

So I asked the GM that will the company will support if one breaks the contract. He said absolutely. They had a suit of lawyers ready to begin, starting from filing the complaint. One would not even have to pay court fees and other details, in my case at least."

Saachi was in the flow and someone put a wrench on it but he could not do anything about it. He grinned. " I am using gaming pod. This is one of the extra privileges of buying the pod.

Anyways, he said it did not matter if breach of contract happened in here or in real life, there would be evidence. And I was like.... whaaat? It seems that a AI was made just for monitoring and it would not handout even a bit of data without court order, and even then only matter requested in court order would be delivered to court in encrypted manner. And he continued to say, in any breaking of contract, just contact us and we will deal it for you.I was like...its so sci- fi."

An intentional pause here and the reply came from audience, 'True, true' and as such showing that they were indeed listening to him.

" I know, right? I don't mind sharing my videos with others but it should atleast show me in good way. I was planning on asking AI about some embarrassing videos of my friends, then I realised they could ask for my videos. So I am doubly thankful for strict AI.

Then I said, okay, I will believe that AI will monitor for fraud and breaking of contract here but you assured that you would know even if the contract breaking happened IRL.

It seems the brain activity changes if one is guilty. So unless one is sociopath or Psychopath, if they did wrong, it would show in the brain wave patterns. And what are we playing now? VR game. Where they send details directly to our brain, so obviously they would have brain wave patterns.

The guy I talked to was of fairly big position. He said once we record a contract within purview of AI, it would monitor all the players involved." Saachi even made shhh sound and kept his finger over mouth, just like a kid. And mentally grumbled. The things we do to have our own things.

The exaggerated tale continued some more. He stopped the session with a tantalizing end. He had 2 business proposition - if any one was interested, had to sign NDA first.

What he never disclosed till now was that the 2 option would be unlocked only after he was satisfied with the player, else they would be struck in 1st deal forever. 1st option - safe, boring but fixed income. 2nd - wild, exhilarating, chances of earning and losing very high.

The second option would make him or break him. Like some one said, Make big or go break.

Anyway, he had not used privacy filter, so the trio in the party had seen and heard his oil salesman act, but they behaved as if they had turned blind and deaf for some time.

Saachi was thankful for their action. He had idea or two to integrate with these people too but unless he had solid and valid reasons, he would rather not talk, lest it be known as building castle in air.

The grinding continued for some more time. Finally, Saachi asked how much he had developed and what was his level according to seemingly eSports player levelled players.

Bree did not even talk. He was not at that level. Kylie...well he was always silent Buddha, ever present, never a word. So, the explanation duty fell on Royo.

Royo is a veteran in games and eSports too. He was one of the builders of a great dynasty in one of the famous games. This meant he had knowledge of both guilds and eSports arena.

His analysis of Niyam's level - tier 5 party lead. It was a steep hike from his earlier levels (lowest level cannon fodder , then tier 6 max DPS player).

Becoming good support from cannon fodder is big step but it can be done if played diligently and party lead was good in utilising all facilities. From there, each step would be like climbing a small hill. Tier changes could be compared to traversing a range of hills. Each tier would have bigger and higher hills and mountains.

In this regard, the progress Niyam showed was worth praising. If he was in a guild, he would not get bonus but increment in his salary too. But to arena players....they were in whole different category and they would not even comment on this type of growth.
