from the very begining

Iyare was quiet all through the funeral. She knew that with every passing second, she was getting closer to making the biggest decision of her life.

It was not Like she had anyone she could talk to. Everybody around her were strangers. Although she was the daughter of the deceased. She was given the shortest time to make her farewell.

Mr. Adrian Freeman acted like it was his father's funeral. While she was pushed to the side. She did not bother to fight for anything after all in her memory her molesting father was somewhere in Ng.

She was yet to fully understand her situation, so she happily stayed on the sideline. She made a mental note to get to know Adrian better if she chooses her new life. After all, it was a reasonable thing to do. Since she knew nothing and she learned he was the late man's godson.

After the funeral service, Iyare went straight to her room and await Louis. She must clarify a lot of things about her new identity before she accepted his deal.

She heard a knock on her door and asked the person to come in. She concluded it was Louis and she wondered why he remembered to knock today.

"There is a package for you ma," the maid that walked in informed her. Iyare collected the package and waited for the maid to leave the room before opening it. She was a bit surprised to receive a package but she was curious about its content. She read the content of the paper inside the brown envelope.

("If you want to stay alive do not Fight for the position of the president. Sell off fifty percent of your inherited shares").

Iyare looked at the brown envelope and the note. It was not handwritten, and there was no name or any cue of who was threatening her. She did not care about the position of the company's CEO but why will she be welcomed with a threat when she has only spent 48hour in this new life.

Iyare called for the maid who brought in the package. "Who delivered this," she asked the maid. "Ma it was a young man" the maid answered.

"Which delivery agency delivered it," Iyare asked.

"I am not sure MA, he did not say" the maid answered. She sounded polite but there was a little irritation in her voice.

"What do you mean he did not say, did you not sign when you collected the package?" Iyare asked. The maid shakes her head to mean no.

"So you are telling me that, anybody can walk into this house to deliver anything?" Iyare asked getting irritated. Ah, she thought that in wealthy men's houses there is usually security protocol. What if something harmful was inside.

She noticed a lot of security in the house, how could anyone just deliver anything, no question asked. No wonder whoever sent this can threaten her life. She suddenly felt her body jolt the way it did in the board room. Everything becomes dark for like five seconds. Then she heard herself giving out orders.

"Call me the head of security, in fact, I want the whole staff in the house assumable in the sitting room in the next five minutes."

"Anyone not present will lose their job." She ordered. The maid stood fixed on the ground. She was so scared. She never thought her new boss, who looked so quiet and peaceful could have this scary side to her.

"Why are you still standing there, get out and do what I asked you to," Iyare barked at the maid. Who immediately ran out of the room.

Iyare picked up the phone beside her bed and called the security post. "No one is permitted to leave or come into the premises" she ordered and ended the call without waiting for any response.

As soon as she dropped the phone her body jolted again and whatever poses her left her body again. She becomes deep in thought. This new life is quite interesting, once her body jolted she will become confident and bold.

"You are getting threats already" Louis's voice distracted her thought. The sudden voice scared her and Louis loved the look of fear in her eyes.

"Have you heard of the word "KNOCK DOORS?" Iyare asked when she saw it was Louis.

"No, I have not, I enjoy scaring PEOPLE" Louis answered with his usual playful smile on his lips.

He pulled the chair beside her dressing table to the bedside where she was sitting. "Have you made up your mind about the deal?" he asked going straight to the reason he was there.

"Can I ask a few questions about my new life before making my final decision?" Iyare asked.

"Sure," Louis answered plainly. He knew she would have a lot of questions, so he came prepared to answer them. He could guess what this question was about and he was sure his answers will convince her in his favor.

"What is this sudden jolt I feel in my body?" Iyare asked.

"It is your guardian?" Louis answered.

"Guardian! What's the meaning of that?" Iyare asked.

"Yes, you are yet to sign the deal with me, so you have a Guardian to protect you. Since I technically bought you here without your knowledge," Louis explains.

" So you are saying once I sign the deal, it will stop?" Iyare asked for confirmation.

"No, it is your gift for the second chance life you got. Although it will no longer take over without your permission and you can only use it in a life and death situation. So after signing the deal you would have to depend on your ability most of the time. Of course, I could also provide you with useful information after you accept my deal." Louis answered.

Iyare took a deep breath after getting clarification for her first question. "Did I steal someone's life?" Iyare asked the next question on her mind. Loui's lips curled into a smile.

"No you did not" he answered directly.

"If I did not steal anyone's life how is all this possible. I mean the DNA test results, my new looks, and everything else in this new life."

"A lot of people during the funeral kept complimenting me, saying I looked just like my father. I have seen the man's picture and yes I looked just like him. I know this is not my real look but I still find it hard to believe how you made it all happen."

" I thought maybe I took over another person's body" Iyare informed Louis of her thought. After all, that was what usually happens in the movies. "I could have done that but that's not what happened in your in your case" Louis answered.

"What do you mean?" Iyare asked becoming very confused.

"I mean how did you make a child exist from nowhere. Why do I fit in so perfectly as I have always existed? Did you manipulate his mind, I mean Mr. Onasa's mind?" Iyare asked still confused. If he can read her thoughts he could manipulate minds took right?

" No, I did not," Louis answered. Such a thing is possible but the god of Fate will not allow him to manipulate so many people. He would have to change a lot of things over the past 26 years. moreover doing that will alert the god of fate, and he did not want that just yet.

"How?" Iyare asked. Louis knew she will not accept his deal unless she got the answers she wanted. She will not steal some else life for her selfish interest. she hated selfish people but Louis loved them best because they easily accepted his deals because of their selfishness. Her case was different. He was on a bet with the god of love. He needed to turn a pure heart such as that of Iyare to become vengeful. moreover, she was a special child, she was one blessed by heaven.

He argued with the god of love that hate is stronger than love. Hence the reason why he needed Iyare. He intended to pull her gradually to the other side. of course, this was not only to win against the god of love, but the girl also had a unique fate and destiny. if he allowed her to die and be born again, she will become a problem to his kingdom, since he could not stop her, he decided to bring her to his side.

There was a knock on the door that distracted their conversation. "ma, we are all waiting" a voice was heard behind the door.

"'I will be down shortly" Iyare answered and the maid walked away. Iyare turned her attention back to Louis waiting for his explanation.

"Have you ever wondered why you are called the bad luck of the family?" Louis asked.

Yes, she has thought about that a lot but never got the answer. Iyare immediately becomes curious. "Do you know why?" she asked instead of answering his question.

"Give me your hands," Louis requested. Iyare did not bother asking why, she wanted to know why she was the bad luck of the family. so she gave him her hand at his request.

As soon as Iyare's hands came in contact with Louis she felt like she traveled back in time.

A building was on fire in the middle of the night. A man was seen going into the burning building. His wife and daughter tried to stop him.

The voice of a crying child could be heard coming from the burning building. Iyare followed the man into the building. There was a girl about four years old. The man came in with a wet blanket he wrapped the litter girl and came out of the house.

The ambulance was already present at the scene. The man got a lot of injuries protecting the little girl. The man and the girl were rushed to the hospital but the man died and the little girl got a few injuries on her body.

The little girl was Iyare when she was young and the man who saved her was her grandfather.

Iyare's mother blames her for her father's death. "You witch, you have killed him you are just bad luck" Iyare's mother's scream echoes in the entire clinic due to its small size.

The little girl was confused and cried loud but her mother never paid any attention to her. The little girl was confused and so was Iyare who was watching the scene.

"It was not my fault" Iyare cried looking at Louis who nodded in agreement. "Yes, you are right it's not your fault."

"Why will she call me the bad luck for an incident that is not my fault?" Iyare asked.

"It not just this incident Iyare. The day she gave birth to you her mother had an accident. Do you remember your grandmother leaps?" Louis asked. Iyare nods her head.

"That incident happened the day you were born. Coincidences like that are considered a bad omen. Your grandmother was not a superstitious woman so she never saw you in that light. But your mother could no longer take the tragedy around you when her father's body lay lifeless," Louis explained to her.

Iyare nods her head," what other tragedy happened to me, wait where is that monster, my father why was he not home at that time?" Iyare asked.

"He was not yet a part of the family at that time" Louis answered. "What do you mean not yet part of the family?" Iyare asked looking at Louis confused.

"Does that mean he is not my biological father?" she asked another question. Louis nodded to confirm her doubts. Iyare opened her eyes in shock, how come she was never aware of this she thought to herself.

Louis was having a hard time reading her thoughts since she was having complex emotions again.

"Iyare would you like to know everything surrounding your birth from the very beginning?" Louis asked. He could not let her dwell in her thoughts.

Iyare nodded her head since she became curious about what she might find out.
