Trust her a little

The worker were all engaged in their thoughts. Josephine looks peaceful. Did she really try to poison their boss?.

Cece was the most frightened. She knew about the poison. They have been feeding Iyare with it since she arrived. They thought the last dose consumed in the afternoon would kill her. No one could detect the poison once she had died, but in a cup of coffee, it would be noticed easily.

Cece bit her lower lips; she understood that she should move immediately and reach out to Charles for help. "I am so stupid," Cece cursed herself in her mind. How could she conclude Iyare would let her guard down. Nobody knew of her existence; maybe she knew more than they all thought.

Maybe her late Boss kept her hidden so that she could have a peaceful and normal childhood. Charles has told her what happened at the board meeting. Thinking about it now, she was frightened about what could be going on in Iyare's mind.

She thought nobody could beat her by keeping her emotion at bay. But she was shocked to see Iyare looking indifferent. Someone else should be angry when they suspect someone tried to poison them, but Iyare face looked just like it did when she came down the stairs.

Cece's palms were sweating, but she tried her best to act casual.

"All workers will have to submit their phone and entrance card for security check due to the break-in this morning or afternoon," Sam informed them. Cutting into Cece's thought, who cursed herself again.

What was she thinking delivering such a threat to Iyare? She may have successfully covered her track, but she knew Sam would tighten security in the house.

It will get more challenging to poison her now since all the meal will be tasted before it gets to her.

She should have stuck to the plan, but she decided to play some mind game. She thought Iyare would get scared when she received the threat and run away. That way, they will not bother about planning another funeral soon. Besides, many questions would be asked if Iyare died shortly after she entered the house.

Sam's subordinate immediately moves swiftly to collect everybody's phone and entrance card. A few workers were loyal to their dead boss, and Sam was one of them. Not everybody was as ungrateful as Charles. Sam believes his boss was his saviour.

He was beaten and left to die by members of his former gang. Mr Onasa saved his life, so he promised to use his second chance of life to protect his boss. Since his boss is dead and fortunately has a daughter, he vows to protect her.

How could someone break into the mansion on his watch? Iyare had not said anything about the package she received, but he was sure it was nothing good.

And to think Josephine will try to poison her. Mr Onasa had sent him for security training before making him the head of security. He could easily read Josephine's body language, and he was sure she had added something to the coffee.

He will not forgive himself if he cannot protect Iyare, so he must tighten the house's security, but to do that, he needs to find out who the insider was.

Josephine was his first suspect, but he was not going to question her. He would wait until it is confirmed that there was poison in the coffee.

Cece handed over her phone to Sam's subordinate; it was not like they could find anything there anyway. She also knew she could not leave the house as no one was to move in or out for the time being.

She hurried back into her room as soon as she handed over her phone. She had to reach out to Charles.

Shelley, sitting down waiting for Iyare, was shocked that there was a break-in. The mansion was the most secure place she knew. That is why she brought Iyare back as soon as possible from the funeral service. She even ensured that no one would get into the house when she left this afternoon, but she was shocked that there was already a case of break-in and possible poison.

She knew Mr Charles might try something funny since he wanted the president's sit. When she got the job to be Iyare's personal assistant, she had taken her time to investigate all board members of ona's group.

She knew that many under-table activities happened in the struggle for power. She needed to see if she was heading into a danger zone when she accepted the appointment letter from Mr Onasa's lawyer.

She even tried to do a background check on Iyare, but she could find nothing. It was like she dropped from the sky when she arrived in Quee city. Nobody knew who Mr Onasa was before he came here 25years ago.

Shelley loved mystery, so she was happy to take the job and unwrap the mystery behind Iyare and her father.

Iyare came down after changing her clothes into something more flexible. She had just ten hours to seal the deal. The sitting room was empty already, with just Shelley waiting for her. "Let go," Iyare said, and Shelley got up.

"Why did you leave the instructions that no one should be let in?" Iyare asked as soon as they got into the car.

"Someone is contesting for your sit; it's only right to put in some measure in case your competitors tried something funny," Shelley replied.

Iyare nodded her head. Shelley was very thoughtful. She could trust her a little. She knew it was impossible for her to trust no one. She will not miss Judge Shelley, she will give her the chance to prove herself worthy.

...

Sam immediately called for a security meeting as soon as Shelley drove out of the property. He did not bother himself to check the security cameras in the kitchen because he knew of a blank spot that exists there. He will fix that tomorrow.

The security team was twenty in numbers. He has tried every one of them and was sure they were all trustworthy. He knew whoever was the insider could not be one of his men but he needed to cross-check, he could not take chances.

"Grey," he called one of his men. "I want you to do a clean check on all the phones and do a proper check on all the footage today. Including the CCTV camera that leads to this property. Review any suspicious moves and report them to me. Luck, Steve assist Grey.

Abel and Andrew you will be the miss personal bodyguard starting tomorrow. You will follow her everywhere," Sam started instructing his men. Sam would have loved to follow her himself but he knew it was best to oversee the security of the house and monitor the others. Which will be impossible if he was following Iyare about.

So he entrusted her to his most trusted subordinate. Peter, I want you to share the rest, who I have not given any task into a group of three let them take turns in watching the gate and the security cameras. I want them to also take note of the CCTV camera on the street that leads to the house," Sam continues to give more instructions.

Peter was his right-handed man from his former gang. He had gone to prison as of the time his gang members tried to kill him. So he could trust him to oversee this perfectly.

Abel and Andrew watched over Josephine tonight. Ensure she is locked up in a room. No one is permitted to see her not even Cece Sam ordered.

Abel and Andrew immediately excuse themselves to get their task done.

Sam looked across the room, "Any questions? He asked. They all shake their heads.

"Good, get to work," Sam gave his final order for the evening and walked out of the room. As soon as he left Peter divided the remaining fifteen men into groups and gave them their new schedule.

Sam walked into his quarters and made himself a cup of coffee. He took a jacket and walked into his office where there was a secret room.

Only he and his late Boss were aware of this room attached to his office. He opened the door and the bright screens welcomed him. Because of how sudden Iyare called the meeting he did not have time to come here and check the backup.

This backup was created in case someone attempt with the camera or the footage. The original copy was always available here. He took a seat and got to work immediately.

Five hours later he stop working there was never a break-in. He knew Cece could not be trusted. He was never able to read her body language, her expression was always the same. A smile when they were joking around and a serious face when it comes to working.

What could she be up to he thought to himself? He never trusted anyone so easily, after what his former gang members did to him. He went back to the computer and followed all her movements in the last twelve hours but he did not see her meeting any man that delivered the so call package.

The suspect moved from Josephine to Cece immediately. He must put his eyes on her. Tomorrow he would ask her some questions and look for any loopholes, he could use as a lead.

He then moved his eyes to check all his men and he noticed they were all doing their work dutifully. After that, he crossed checked what they have been doing for the last seven hours while he was busy.

He caught sight of Cece trying to visit Josephine, his lips curved into a beautiful smile. She just confirmed his suspension. He traced her movement to what she did after she left the meeting.

He watched her from the footage going straight into her room and entering her bathroom. Because of privacy, there were no cameras in any of the bedrooms. He frown his brows because he could not tell what she was doing there.

Bingo he shouted in joy when he remembered something.
