Iyare immediately looked at the nightstand where she dropped her phone. She picked it up immediately and turned it on. she had been sleeping for so long, so she was scared of missing Amina's message or call.
She prayed Amina did not try to contact her while she was out. Her eyes immediately noticed the new message she had on her phone.
(My flight will land on Monday by five pm. You either come to get me at the airport, or I will book a return ticket)
Iyare read the content of the message. She knew it was Amina. She immediately looked for her social media account in her formal life to get a picture of Amina. Luckily it was not closed down. After carefully saving Amina's photo, she closed the account and deleted everything about it. She did not want anything about that life anyway.
"I need you to go to the Airport and pick up this person," Iyare said while showing Shelley the picture.
"Her flight lands in the next two hours. Take Adam with you. I will send the picture to you so you can remember her face," Iyare said. Shelley looked at the picture and nodded her head. She wanted to ask more about the lady in the picture, but she changed her mind. It would take at least one hour or more to get to the airport, so she just left the room.
Merry came into Iyare room five minutes after Shelley left, holding a tray containing her food. She quietly placed the food on the table. Then she went into the bathroom to run a bath for Iyare as instructed.
When Merry left the room, Iyare went into the bathroom to have her bath. She decided to soak herself in the warm water for a bit. She closed her eyes to allow the heat of the water to warm her skin.
As she was still enjoying her bath, memories of her dreams flashback in her mind. She noticed she remembered every single lesson her father taught her in the dream.
"What was happening?" she asked herself before dashing off the bathtub and running into her wardrobe.
She put on the first thing on sight and then ran into her father's study, locking the door behind her.
She immediately went to the safe and unlocked it. She picked up the first book on sight after taking a deep breath. She opened it to read through it, and to her surprise, she was familiar with its content.
She dropped that book and picked another. Book after book was somehow already in her memory.
'What's happening to me,' Iyare wondered as her head began to hurt.
"Congratulations," the word echoed in the quiet study and Iyare froze when she heard a voice behind her. She held her chest and tried to calm her racing heart. She remembered perfectly well that she locked the door. How did that person manage to enter with the door closed? She asked herself.
Iyare turned around slowly, only to meet Louis with his smirk. She breathed in relief. She forgot about Louis's ability for a minute. Only he can walk through locked doors. "Can you not creep on me like that again," Iyare muttered.
"Sorry, honey, but scaring humans is what I exist to do," Louis answered with a grin.
Iyare sighed, knowing there was nothing else she could say to him. She just decided to ask a more important question. "What happened to me? I mean, why are you congratulating me?" She asked.
"You successfully created a past for yourself and learnt something that would have taken you at least two years in a few days. Is that not enough to celebrate?" Louis answered with his usual smile.
He was actually pleased with her progress; he was going to turn her into a very powerful woman in other to cause all the pain and trouble he had planned. Of course, Iyare had no idea that she finally opened herself into the underworld by killing those two men a few days ago.
"Are you saying that my dream is now a part of reality to others?" Iyare asked in disbelief. She remembered that in her weird dream. Her father found her and trained her for five years to take over his company.
"Yes, and that means everybody who tries to look in your background will find out about it too," Louis answered.
Iyare pouted her lips; at least she would not have to bother about doing so much reading. "Wait, does that mean I will have to identify that woman as my mother. I thought you knew I wanted nothing to do with her?" Iyare asked, getting upset.
"There are a lot of things we can not change. She was fated to be your mother. That's not a choice anyone makes. But you can choose to ignore her and not acknowledge her; after all, the whole world believes she is the one that died in the fire 20 years ago.
You see, I got you covered. Since I can't change your mother, nobody gets to choose their parents. I created her death. Of course, if you want her genuinely dead, I could make it happen," Louis explained. There were many things the god of fate stopped him from doing, so he could only find a way around it.
"No, I don't want her dead; she no longer exists to me," Iyare refused immediately. She already understands that Louis will not do anything for free. Who knows what kind of sacrifice he will make her perform.
If she wants her mother dead, then she will do it herself.
Louis's smile became wider; 'she even thought of killing her mother without blinking her eyes. How amazing; it seems his plans may fall into place sooner than expected.' He felt satisfied. "Since you don't need my help, I will leave, but you should learn some techniques like shooting and fighting. You are going to need those," Louis said and walked away.
"Whatever," Iyare said before arranging the books back in the safe and locking it. She heard her stomach rumble. "I should get something to eat," she told herself and returned to her room.
Iyare sat down and finished her meal before returning to the bathroom and taking a warm shower. After that, she picked something beautiful to wear.
Shelley will be here any minute, and she could not wait to see Amina again.
